History

Established in 2005.

When Viva opened its doors in June of 2005, we believed in a culture of caring. With eight employees, we were committed to providing our clients with a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience in an unpretentious setting.

Nine years, 2 locations, and 85 employees later, Viva’s commitment to caring for its customers and employees has grown and flourished. We are ever so grateful to have had — and continuing to have — the opportunity to do so.

While any spa can fill its walls with massage tables and foot baths, with saunas and steam treatments, we know that it’s our exceptionally talented employees who make our customers’ spa appointments into spa experiences.

Our clients have let us know we’re doing something right as well, voting us Austin’s Best Day Spa for two years in a row. We’re humbled to serve such a fantastic bunch of clients, over 120,000 of you to date.

Best friends Shannon, Maya an Laurie founded Viva Day Spa with the idea that a first-​class day spa could deliver the finest services for the mind, body and spirit in an environment that is warm, relaxing and — above all — unpretentious.

Austin Monthly Magazine awarded Shannon «The Most Amazing Massage» therapist, one of her many accolades over 10 years as a massage therapist. Her hands-​on experience informs Viva Day Spa’s dedication to providing every client the individual attention and service they expect and deserve on every visit.

Maya brought years of business and people management skills — including several years in the spa field — along with her to Viva Day Spa. From finances to customer service, she keeps the business moving and our clients happy.

A certified clinical nutritionist and pharmacist at People’s Pharmacy in Austin, Laurie’s healthcare background drives Viva’s holistic approach to wellness. She is also point on Viva’s marketing and operations efforts.
