Volz & Associates, Inc. specializes in the restoration and adaptive reuse of historic buildings and the design of sensitive additions to existing buildings throughout Texas and the southern states. We are adept at identifying and prioritizing rehabilitation needs specifically for historic properties, and we work to exceed owner expectations. We develop innovative solutions to life safety, ADA compliance, and improved functionality without compromising the historic integrity of the building. History

Established in 1978.

Candace Volz began her business in 1978 with a specialty in historic interiors. Early work included restoration of the Victorian-​era Hirshfeld House in downtown Austin for use by Texas A&M Systems offices, and several projects at the historic Driskill Hotel. John Volz joined the firm in 1986, expanding services to include architectural design and restoration planning. Volz & Associates completed project list includes numerous historic Texas courthouses, churches, and private residences.
