West Austin Dance Academy is the premeire studio in Central Texas serving Austin, Bee Cave, Westlake, Lakeway, Lake Travis, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls and all of the Austin area. West Austin Dance Academy is known for giving top of the line training at all ages and all levels. We believe that even the youngest dancers are capable of learning and growing in the art of dance.

History

Established in 2009.

In 2009 Amy Swift Reynolds purchased West Austin Dance Academy. When she took the studio over it was a small one room studio that had about 70 students and a 12 person competition squad. Amy — being a 4^th generation studio owner — turned that small studio into a 3 room state of the art facility with faculty that not only teaches proper technique, but also truly cares about the dancers. It currently has about 250 students and a 60+ person competition team. Whether dancers are looking to have fun, make a high school team, dance in college, or dance professionally West Austin Dance Academy has that program available.

Business Owner

Amy Swift Reynolds is a 4^th generation studio owner. Her great grandfather taught her first time-​step, grandmother her first plié, and aunt her first pirouette. After growing up in a studio, Amy graduated college from the prestigious Oklahoma City University with a BS in Dance Management. From there, Amy moved to New York City where she danced and sang professionally in show such as Will Rogers Follies, Grease, Anything Goes, Hello Dolly, Rags, and lead the National Tour of Cinderella. Amy then started judging for several different competition companies, and found her way to running a competition team in Nashville, TN. From there, her husband Paul was accepted into the Doctorate Program at Texas State, and as that was falling into place, she bought West Austin Dance Academy!
