Wet & Wild Adventure Camp is a unique day camp for a few lucky children, ages 6 – 15. In business since 1995, Wet &Wild is a field trip camp where the activities change daily. Campers get a memorable, magic-​filled summer of their dreams: splashing in rivers and creeks, jumping into swimming holes, tubing down crystal clear rivers, playing games under the trees, bowling, skating, tubing, rafting, kayaking, jumping and rope-​swinging. Our roving band of explorers will visit some of the most exciting and extraordinary locations in and around Central Texas. We will also have fun the modern way: video games, go-​carts, laser tag, indoor rock climbing, water parks, including Schlitterbahn, ropes course, zip lines and amusement parks, including Fiesta Texas. Our days of adventure will be combined with time to relax and build important friendships. Join us for a fun-​filled summer, making memories to last a lifetime. Junior campers (ages 6 – 8) have smaller adventures in smaller groups.

History

Established in 1995.

Lucy Grant and Mary Robinson met when their sons played on the same baseball team. When they became friends and discovered that they both had the same life-​long dream: to own a summer camp, they were determined to figure out how to do it. Because they both love the outdoors, and loved taking their own children and their children’s friends to different places to swim and explore around Austin, they decided to model their camp on traveling around to all the places they loved to go. They started small, each driving the van they owned and filling it up with their own children and as many others as would fit. Over the years, the camp has grown, but the philosophy hasn’t changed: Expose children to the wonders of the natural world; give them the freedom to enjoy the beauty of being outside, playing and swimming away the summer in a different location every day. Our children are now grown and some of them work for us as counselors. It’s a family affair that we all still love.

Business Owner

Lucy is a retired social worker. Mary is a retired program manager of a non-​profit. We are both parents of grown children. All of our children have worked for us or are currently working for us as counselors. Combining our love of nature with our love of working with young people is very rewarding. It has been the fulfillment of our dreams.
