Work Well Austin

I really like Work Well! It’s conveniently located close to where Lamar meets Manchaca in South Austin, and getting an appointment is relatively simple. This is important to me, because I tend to book things with only a few days’ notice. There’s also plenty of parking which is a big plus in this neighborhood!
I do the $ 50/​month membership that provides discounted pricing on massage services. For the price of each month’s membership, you receive a 50 minute Swedish massage (or $ 50 toward a different discounted service). The massages «rollover» each month, which is handy since my free time is limited some months.
I’ve gotten massages from Asenath and Kyle. Both of them are great with very different massage styles. I definitely recommend both of them!
Work Well — big fan!

As a first-​timer visiting Work-​Well, I felt so lucky to snag a same-​day appointment! I had the 80-​minute Swedish, by Kyle. He was so gracious, and present during the massage — a huge plus for me; sometimes you can tell when the therapist is in another world, and not focused on your wellness. Kyle cares. I signed up for the membership — for $ 50, you get a free 50min Swedish, and discounts off other massages. It’s a great deal! I look forward to trying a Reiki and Chakra session in the future, as well.

Before I found Asenath and her crew at Workwell — I hated getting massaged because I always left in lots of pain and very stiff, the masseuse never seemed to listen to me or to be able to adapt to my musculature. I’ve been to Workwell four or five times over the past year and every time have had the best experience. the massage therapists are able to adapt to the softer touch I prefer but still are able to break up the knots i get underneath my shoulder blades and tightness in my hips. They have a very soothing atmosphere and also it’s super nice to just click your phone and book online without having to be sure to call during business hours… the foot work and scalp work is wonderful also!!!

I highly recommend Work Well to anyone seeking massage services in Austin! Asenath and the team are wholeheartedly dedicated to ensuring that their clients receive fantastic service and customized therapy. They endeavor to fully understand client nuances and work to provide results in a comfortable and holistic environment. I have been seeing Kevin for prenatal massage for the past few months and have received such immense relief as a result of our sessions. At their new location, I’ve been seeing Courtney exclusively as she is the most talented therapist I’ve ever worked with (after 6 others in Austin alone)! She has an awesome ability to find my trouble areas and has the best feel for keeping deep-​tissue within my comfort limits. After a massage with Courtney (I go for the 80 minute so that she has time to work on my back, legs, neck, and shoulders) I notice that I’m more relaxed throughout the week, and I’ve been able to exercise more intensely without as much soreness or pulled muscles. My posture has even improved went sitting at a desk for long days. She has a true talent for a really productive but relaxing massage, and is really kind and cool (offers stretching tips specifically for my needs).
I’m so happy to have found Courtney (never move, please!) but the therapist I saw before her who moved out of town at the last location was also brilliant, and the environment and customer service are fantastic. The massage rooms have really relaxing lighting and the whole place smells like a spa.
I heartily recommend Workwell to all my friends, and I’ve heard great things about the other therapists who work there.

I can’t say enough about WorkWell, and especially Asenath. She is one of the few massage therapists I have seen who really acknowledges the individuality of each customer, and is truly concerned that the experience is actually therapeutic. Whether that is a smooth relaxing massage one week, or working out some knots the next… you are getting a therapeutic experience tailored to your needs, not some generalized label such as «Swedish» or «deep tissue.»
Asenath shared with me that she is deeply involved with Buddhism. With no pressure or agenda, she asked if I would like a mantra. I was a little skeptical, but agreed. She gave me a brief, simple, sweet phrase that has not only enhanced my massage experience, but has carried over to my yoga classes, not to mention moments of stress in work and home life.
As of now, the costs are comparable to the McMassage places, and the experience is a thousand times more rewarding. I highly recommend you seek Asenath out!

I got a Unilocal deal for my boyfriend here because he had been pretty stiff and stressed out. He came back very relaxed and was going back on a regular basis and loving the massages. I love that I don’t have to do it and he comes home in a great mood! I need to get him back in because it’s been awhile! Great place!

I had my first massage Asenath last week and I was so thrilled with how relaxed I felt after! She had a calm, healing energy about her– which helped my stressed out body. I came out of that room like a new woman! Definitely can’t wait for my next appointment!

I decided last minute I needed a massage today on my birthday. The staff at workwell got me in. I had a massage with Maisie and she was wonderful. She hit all my problem areas and I left floating on air. The overall atmosphere is so relaxing I wish I could just spend the whole day there. I look forward to going back and trying their other services and yoga classes. This place is a gem in south Austin

I had my second session at Work Well, the first at the new location which is much closer to me! Kate asked plenty of questions so she was able to focus on my problem areas and release the tension that had been bothering me. Very thorough session that left me super relaxed.

Was cheerfully greeted when I walked in, by name. Masseuse Emily was nice and personable with me. She gave a great massage and periodically asked if I was okay. Great experience all around. Emily has magic hands.

This place was great. They were able to get a couples massage for my fiancé and I last minute and same day. The massage was very enjoyable and I feel like a million bucks after our stressful wedding day. Thanks Work Well!

My wife and I just got back from our couples massage and it is a four thumbs up rating. Molly and Courtney gave us great service and a wonderful massage. Loved every minute of it. I will be back.

I LOVE WorkWell! I went from buying a Groupon to becoming a member in only a few months. Why? Their customer service. All of the therapists I’ve seen pay attention to what you’re saying and what your body is saying. For example, I let Molly know about my house flooding and how it caused me way more additional stress before our session. When I visited the next month, she asked how my house was doing and if we flooded again. Amazing! Another time I went in to WorkWell after having a clumsy fall one day in a painful but successful attempt to catch a bus home from work. Sara was my MT that day and I was too embarrassed to tell her about my clumsy situation before the massage. She figured it out anyway after a few rubs on my ankle!
The reality of why I continue to be a member at WorkWell is because they know what they’re doing and they know how to treat their customers. Thanks to WorkWell for always providing a relaxing experience!

And she does! She knew when to apply more pressure, when to ease up and did it with such expertise as to dazzle. I really like the little house the business is located in and even with the construction next door, there were times I was so relaxed and at ease that I almost fell asleep.
I am not a member yet and I do understand that it will be a little bit more money than I would like to spend, but since I also work physically with people, this will be worth it for me. We have to take care of ourselves too!

I have been a member at Workwell Austin for almost two years now. The location is awesome and the old house is so charming! I have had several massage therapist over the last two years and have never had a bad experience.
Workwell is an awesome place with top notch therapist. I highly recommend giving them a try!

I’ve been a member of Work Well Austin for a little over a year now. When I went in I had such terrible pain in my lower and middle back. Not to mention, my muscles were so tight you pretty much needed a jackhammer to get anywhere close to a deep tissue with me. But Natalia, with her tiny bionic hands, was able to break though and help my back become a lot looser and eliminate my pains altogether.
Oh and I figured the chill atmosphere, great location and service with a smile should go without saying. Check them out if you haven’t already.

I got a sports massage a weekend ago and even though it wasn’t Valentines Day, they gave me a chocolate covered strawberry at the end! Perks aside, the massage I got was great — I got the sports massage. They really focused on the areas where I had the most problems/​tension and I walked away feeling quite relaxed. They have some pretty great deals for memberships here too and I might consider doing that in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I’ve been going there on a regular basis for the past 7 months and it’s the best part of my month. I’ve been worked on by several of their well trained staff and have had nothing but great things to say.
They offer great add-​on packages (I recommend the ginger pumpkin foot scrub) and do great couples massages as well.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Deep tissue massage with Asenath was fantastic – on par with any massage I’ve had at the Four Seasons or Elizabeth Arden. Flat out great massage!
Work Well Austin is located in a historic house-​turned-​business off of South Congress. When you park behind the house, don’t be confused by the signs for rug refurbishing or psychiatrists – they’re all in the same building. It’s not fancy like a five-​star spa, just one, simple room, but you don’t really notice when the massage is so great.
Prices are OK – I used a Groupon, which was a fantastic price, but the regular prices may be a bit much for what you get but not egregious.
Also, you can schedule online!
ONE thing Work Well could improve is the faint mildew smell – I’m not sure if it was the house or sheets or an especially humid day, but…
