Specialties
I offer ecological landscape design, installation and care-taking services that let you be part of the solution to the worlds pressing environmental and health problems. Creating infrastructure to hydrate our land, build soil, reforest, harvest healthy, local food, and heal ourselves as much as our ecology is my passion.
YTTG offers a full range of services, from helping you build and grow in your first garden bed, to a full food-forest of edible yard remediation, wildlife gardening, rainwater harvesting, and more. My designs have a heavy focus on rainwater retention, soil building and soil health in an effort to help your yard survive and even thrive in Central Texas.
History
Established in 2010.
Yard to Table has specialized in sustainable design for central Texas since 2010. Originally conceived as simply a garden service, YTTG has grown in its scope to meet the needs of clients. Full-scale drought resistant food-yielding landscapes, Sculptural thai jar cisterns, and aesthetically minded sustainable design have become the keystone of YTTG’s niche in Austin. YTTG is rooted in care for the earth and stewardship of the soil as well as our precious aquifer.
Meet the Business Owner
Dani S.
Business Owner
Dani served as an Americorps, or domestic peace corp member, in Austin schools teaching organic gardening and science classes in high needs schools. Throughout her term she sought out to learn as much as possible about growing food in Central Texas.
Shortly after her term ended, Yard to Table Gardens was born. Dani has helped Austinites learn about soil health, water management, and food cultivation for a while now, and hopes to continue for years to come. She is passionate about these technologies, and truly sees them as a key aspect to securing healthy ecology, communities, economies, and people in the coming years.
She has served as an intern at le Ferme du Bec Helloin, in Normandy France, and the OLCERI project on Pine Ridge Reservation, in South Dakota. Dani also serves as an instructor for Sustainable Food Center, and has taught various topics for Eco-Pioneers intensive Permaculture Certificate Course
