I came here not knowing what to expect as this was my first float experience. The staff was wonderful at making me feel comfortable and explaining everything. They are conscience of maintaining a quiet atmosphere that is both welcoming and relaxing.
The robes and slippers offered are lovely and they start you off in the most amazing massage chairs I have ever experienced. You then move in to the room to begin your float. The tank is large and would help avoid any feelings of claustrophobia most might have. The float itself was great! I came out feeling relaxed and as someone who isn’t good at «quieting» my mind, I’m pretty sure I entered a magical meditative state!
Since my first visit a few months ago, I have brought my family members and recommended Zero Gravity to countless others. I have been to other float centers in Austin and I truly think this is the best. I live North and I am more than willing to drive to south Austin for this great experience.

Very relaxing, good facilities, good staff

I called to make an appointment and got a massage and a 60 minute float session. Came in at 11:20am. The lady at the reception was really nice. I filled out some forms and made some small talk. The dressing room was really nice. Only one bathroom for men and women though and one person at a time. The massage was nice and light. Time passed by quickly. After the massage I drank some water and got another massage in the waiting room with a really expensive massage chair for 15 minutes. There was a spiffy hallucinogenic light show on the walls.
Now for the flotation tank. You basically take a shower first before entering the tank. Don’t get the salty water in your eyes or it will sting. There is a spray bottle inside the tank just incase that happens. Also you can use petroleum jelly for any possible cuts and razor burns so it doesn’t sting when you are in the pool. There is wax for your ears which is good. There is also a light inside you can turn on and off. Floating was pretty simple, you just lay back and relax naked in the pool. I didn’t see anything, but had fun floating and bouncing around the dark room. It was a fun experience where I let my mind take me to different places in my life. I was able to sing loudly where no one heard me and get my mind to run its course, helping me to make the next major decision of my life.
I think I sleep a little better now. I’ve had vivid dreams where I think i wake up and start my date, but I actually don’t.

This was such an awesome experience! The staff was very nice and made me feel at ease when showing me what to do. The place was clean and had a calming atmosphere.
Floating was like nothing I had experienced before. Being some one who loves water and finds it cathartic I knew I would enjoy floating. But it was SO much better than I imagined it would be! Once I could fully relax and trust the buoyance I really did feel weightless. I will definitely go back again.
For a couple days afterwards I noticed that my emotions were more light and happy. And some feet pain I get was greatly reduced. It’s always nice to find something that is good for the body and soul!

I love this place. if you are stressed and just need some time to space out and let your thoughts melt away this place is for you. They start your off with a 15 minute chair massage. This is no ordinary chair. It measures your body, leans back and gets you in the perfect mood for your float experience. The helpful staff then takes you back to the float take room where they have showers and all the essentials for you. The tanks are large and custom built. So much better than other float places in town. When the lights go out you have not idea where you start… you mind… your thoughts… your body… just floating away into oblivion. You must try this!

My now-​husband and I did a massage-​and-​float during our honeymoon. It was such a unique and wonderful experience. We’re officially obsessed — we’ve told all our friends and family they need to try it as well. Completely relaxing and somehow energizing at the same time. We definitely suggest getting the massage beforehand to really get into the right mindset. Great facility, very clean, wonderful customer service, and a reasonable price.

I floated in a tank today: totally awesome!!!
I couldn’t sleep though, I was too fascinated listening to my bones move underwater and tripped out playing with my hip/​head tilt alignment and how they affected eachother, or doing neat fish like sidebending breathing and movement experiments.
It was trippy, I could hear a little crepitus like sounds in my neck and shoulders and somewhere in my thoracic, so I floated weightless and moved one limb around using the other hand to track down and massage right where I was creaky. Then I popped all my toes and ankles and it sounded like pop rocks on steroids: COOLEST THING EVER! And the sound was magnified right in my ears because of these neat wax earplugs I had in, it made every sound super clear and I swear I could hear a suction POP and sometimes a grindy scrape depending on which joint i messed with. It was like feeling sound to find my future faulty joints while floating around in the soundless pitch-​black ocean like an astronaut in space.
I think only massage and anatomy bodynerds like me would do that though. Other people might sleep.
Plus, their pre-​float robot massage chairs were amazing. WAY better than Brookstone during Xmas shopping (when you give up on shopping while at the mall and you just sit on their massage chairs, loitering to kill time… you know you do that too.) Well, these chairs are better.
Anyways, I can’t wait till a float place opens in San Antonio.

An introvert’s paradise, simply put. It’s not an experience that is given to you. It’s an atmosphere designed for you to create an experience for yourself, by yourself. If you’re curious enough to read through reviews, then you’re ready to try it. Reviews here will not help you.

What a gem! Surprised my boyfriend with a 90 minute massage and 60 hour float. Neither of us had floated before and the whole experience was really interesting, and RELAXING. Just what we needed.
Staff is very kind, patient, and clear on what to expect. Very small facility but it feels intimate and familiar. The locker facilities are wonderfully supplied. Tip — if you are someone with finicky hair or skin bring a travel size of your own shampoo or lotion. Their product seems great but I have curly hair that hates change!
The massages were great and somehow our therapists were keenly matched to us. I heard my boyfriend and his therapist chatting away the entire time in the next room. I hate talking and my therapist was silent, methodical, meditative. I fell asleep on the table twice! A little hippie-​dippy with some yoga style namaste stuff but I don’t mind.
Then came the float. Not going to lie, I was nervous about this experience for no explicable reason other then I wasn’t sure how my brain would run away with itself. I did manage to relax midway through (they do say it takes a while to chill out your first few times) and actually take a nap, but not sure floating is my thing. My boyfriend LOVED it.
Overall it was an awesome experience and the prices are very reasonable. I’d go back!

Took my hubbie here as a surprise for his birthday. He LOVED floating, and absolutely LOVED the massage. He told me that the masseuse (female) did breath work while massaging, loosening his tension and releasing a lot of stress. I thought I’d end up spending at least 200 something for an hour float + hour massage, but the total was only 125! I was pretty shocked. Now it’s my turn to go…

Love the chair massage, great place to shut down and rest for a while and allow your body to heal.

The service was amazing! The Massage was amazing! The float was a hot mess! Everything was very clean and beautiful. The massage therapist –Kara Ann was so great! I don’t think the float was a good fit for me. I get motion sickness and I think that was the issue. I had nausea 15 mins in. I stepped out and felt better so I tried it again. 10 mins in I was sick so I just called it quits. My husband was fine and enjoyed it, but later in the day he felt nausea as well. I would go back for a massage any day, but I couldn’t float again. Just be aware if you get motion sickness.

I have been floating for four years and in many centers and many different types of tanks. Zero Gravity is the best float center I have been to and the float rooms are incredible. From the moment you call to make the appointment you will be impressed by the staff. The place is super clean, relaxing, and the float rooms themselves are the best quality I have seen on the market. I would refer every person on the planet there. Excellent.

Best massage I’ve ever had. The whole experience was magical. I’m not a huge massage person but this was almost a mix of yoga relaxation and massage. It was life changing.
Floating will be the next thing I try

Zero gravity institute is a diamond in the rough. I really didn’t know what to expect the first time I did a float but I was pleasantly surprised. The deprivation in the float room was a little overwhelming the first time. During my second float, I fell asleep within the first three minutes and as my time expired and when woke up I felt as if I had only been in the chamber for just a few minutes but my body definitely felt the benefits.
3^rd time I added a massage to the equation & really felt like I benefitted from the massage more because I started out relaxed.

Try and lay completely still… you will forget you have a body!
No words to describe the amazingness of what Zero Gravity has going on here. I’ve floated in 6 or so centers across the country and this place blew me away. Not only is everything spacious but it is meticulously clean. Their float tanks are huge! Bigger than my bed at home.
I really wished I lived in Austin so I could take advantage of their membership pricing and float here often, but… I don’t. Till next time Zero Gravity, you will be in my heart. =)

Wow! That was an experience that is going to hard to describe, but I’ll try my best!
First you are greeted by a sweet spirit at the front desk. I feel terrible that I don’t remember her name… but I want to say it was Carol, but I could be totally wrong on that (sorry!!)
After filling out a little paperwork, she walked me to the women’s changing room. The hallways are dim and beautifully lit. The place oozes relaxation!
In the changing room my comfy robe and slippers were waiting. They get HUGE bonus points for having robes that fit bigger people very comfortably. It was cozy and comfy! I was met outside the changing room and escorted to the zero gravity massage chair, where I was kneaded and compressed and massaged by the most amazing chair!
After 15 minutes in this magic chair, I was escorted to the room for my float. I was given all of the directions I needed to begin. After a quick shower I got into the tank.
I have to be honest, since this was my first float, I was nervous about it. When I got into the tank I got anxious, so I just cracked the door open to help me calm down. I floated for a while with my eyes closed and the door cracked open. It was blissful! After a bit I knew I’d be ok with the door closed. I closed the door and true bliss set it. It is so weird to hear your heartbeat and the oxygen coming and going from your lungs. It took a minute to get used to it, but once I did I was able to completely relax.
I stretched my arms above my head and floated and stretched and completely relaxed until my hour was up. I showered and then got changed, ready to start the rest of my day. On my drive home, I really felt that my senses were much more acute; it was a really, really cool feeling! I also felt so relaxed and calm. It’s a great feeling!
It was truly an out of body experience, and the customer service at Zero Gravity Institute is above and beyond. I can’t wait to book my next float!

I did it nekkid! And you should, too. I had NO idea I would fall in love and want to die here. Floating in my own personal tank for… let’s see… I think it was 65 minutes in 1200 lbs of salt water in the dark. Oh, there is a light if you want to look at your toes as you float but trust me it is much more amazing to go dark.
Begin your float experience by slipping into a comfy robe in your own dressing room. Then, in the dimly lit transition room, settle into a giant padded chair which looks and feels much like the hand of Thor. This amazing giant padded chair hand will massage and knead your back, squeeze your calves, neck and hips while you watch a psychedelic light show. I think it fell in love with me… or me with it. It is much like foreplay to the float experience.
Next, get ready for your float by showering first. Then step into your float tank and enjoy! Your brain will hit Theta waves after about 30 minutes. This is that deep almost not awake consciousness that allows your body and brain to work on destressing you. I completely fell asleep my first float. So utterly peaceful.
Did I mention the people here are as sweet and helpful as your grandmother? Did I mention your locker room is filled with hair dryer, toiletries and deodorant? Did I mention that you have your own float tank? Uh, no you don’t do this with twenty other people although two in a float tank would be very sexy and I’m sure it’s been done.
