Ordered waffle cones made fresh, you can smell it from blocks away. The macademia nut ice cream was delish.

The service that we received was only okay, but it was a beautiful October Saturday and they had a lot of people shuffling through the doors. There’s not a while lot of space in here — you go in through the left door, down the line for you ice cream & pay transaction, the out the other door — so people can’t congregate inside, which actually makes the process a little more efficient. We shared a waffle cone with the chocolate frozen yogurt — which tasted like it was whipped — and it was soo good! It was more than enough for two of us to share, and was decently priced for the quaint, homestyle establishment and the products that they offered.

There are a couple ice cream places near the water’s edge, but Big Olaf’s seemed to be popping with traffic so we decided to find out what the fuss was about! I loved that they had a lot of flavors to choose from, but they were all Dreyer’s ice cream so it didn’t seem special at all. It was nice that they let us sample flavors though. In any case, we got a scoop of orange cream sorbet and a scoop of fudge tracks(mini peanut butter cups in vanilla ice cream swirled with fudge). FYI, fudge tracks is definitely on my list of favorite flavors now. We were trying to figure out the difference between getting a two-scoop sundae and a Big Olaf. They look virtually the same on the menu except the sundae cost 50 cents less. We asked a server who told us the Olaf’s come in a cone, while the sundaes come in a cup. =_= Sundae/Olaf: — Ice cream — 1 Topping(choose from chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, caramel, pineapple sauce?, or marshmallows) — Whipped Cream — Peanut Topping — 1 Maraschino Cherry The two-scoops sundae was $ 5 and the Big Olaf(two-scoops as well) cost $ 5.50. There’s also just an «Olaf» which is one scoop or a «Giant Olaf»(?) that has 3 scoops. It was a pretty good ice cream treat for a hot day but really didn’t seem very special overall. Plus I was disappointed that the«Olaf“‘s weren’t more unique.
