Specialties

Propel down 5 separate zip lines dropping from 600 feet above sea level with one run that is 1,100 lineal feet long all on its own. This incredible experience will forever change your idea of what a tour should be. You will travel close to three quarters of a mile over five consecutive zip lines at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 40mph.

Beginning at the Hog’s Back gate, high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon, you will pause at several eco-stations along the way before continuing on your journey. At each station, your hosts will give you a presentation on some of the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife, history, and the areas you are passing through. Eventually exiting at Descanso Beach your journey will last approximately 2 hours and your memories will last a lifetime.

My sister and I just got back from Catalina and had the trip of a lifetime. The best part of our trip, by far, was our zip lining experience. Our instructors, Nate and Jay, were absolutely fabulous! My sister had never been zip lining before and yet she felt comfortable enough to be the first one out of the gate. Our instructors really knew their stuff! Nate made us feel safe and secure when being hooked onto the line. Jay was extremely knowledgeable when it came to the ‘Eco’ part of the experience. I am sure most people don’t pay much attention to the information given about the surroundings, especially when going up to 30mph on a thin cord, however I love it. And I really did learn a lot. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to go back! A thousand thanks to Jay and Nate! We’ll see you again soon!

First of all Steven and Thomas are the bomb diggity! They were so smart and full of information. Plus they got our group to get along super well. The whole experience was very much worth the money. We felt very safe and we do not care much for heights. The FIVE different zip line stations was like a huge bonus. We did see deer! Just a fantastic day and Steven and Thomas helped make it happen!!! A must-do when visiting Catalina Island! Went on a zipline tour on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm with a group of 5 of my friends. Denny & Jay were our tour guides and were absolutely amazing! Both tour guides were very knowledgeable about the ecosystem on the island and helped us learn a lot. Both of them were also very entertaining, Denny especially with his «bad» jokes were very amusing throughout the whole tour. The ziplining was awesome going across canyons, though there were only 5 lines, it was still a ton of fun.
One recommendation I have is to check with your job to see if they receive a discount through funexpress with the zip line eco tour. The zip line tour is about $ 125/per person where the discount brings it down to $ 100/per person.

YAFET AND DENZEL WERE PHENOMENAL. I used to always think that I was afraid of heights but I guess not and it was all in my head. Yafet and Denzel made the experience even better than expected, they have great personalities and were always talking to us, KEPT IT REAL AND LIVELY. My group consisted of a few older ladies, a mom, and a little girl so there was no reason for me to chicken out. If you do decide to chicken out though, be prepared to make a treacherous walk down the dirt path to HQ. While ziplining down we were able to see some wildlife, specifically the deer which was nice.

Number 1 of this experience was our amazing tour guilds, Denny & Eloy. What awesome and amazing guys.
I was terrified. Not a little bit, I mean I was shaking. Denny told the group I had to go first because the anticipation was gunna kill me. So I stood there while he hooked me in with my eyes closed. He was saying something, he’s very calming and then he had me sit first and he just pushed me and all of a sudden I was flying through the sky.
The course was great and by the last platform I was so sad it was ending. What a fun tour. Both Denny and Eloy were really funny and super nice. The atmosphere and environment was incredible. The views were breathtaking.
Zip lining was a bucket list item for me and this was a experience to remember for my lifetime.

Yesterday, June 19^th, I did my second zip on Catalina Island. It was a gift from my children for my 70^th birthday! This company goes above and beyond to create an experience you will never forget. There were only 2 in our group that had zipped before and the guides were committed to making the newbies feel safe so that they had a crazy fun time in spite of their fear and trepidation. FIVE platforms, incredibly safe equipment, and knowledgable guides who give simple, clear instructions and who love to see people have a great time. They are knowledgable about the island’s history, wildlife, and food and good times.

Best thing to do in entire Island. I felt that lot of business owners on the island are little haughty and aloof. But not these guys. Awesome experience. They quickly checked us in, provided lockers for our belongings and began harnessing people one by one. 20 minutes of demo later, we rode a bus to the starting point of zip line. There are total 5 zip lines in total, 1 easy to break in, one going from very high to very low, one with an amazing view etc. You would have to wait at either end of the zip line while rest of the people in your group zip zap zoom, which was no problem at all. The guides were naturally funny, energetic and enthusiastic. The owners are amazing as well. My Boyfriend wanted to held GoPro in his hand rather then harnessing on hand or helmet and they made it possible. They even had hair ties for girls who forgot to tie their hairs

Denny and Manny are a hilariously fun adventure duo. If you go on the Eco tour with them you are in for quite the enjoyable treat! They are also very knowledgable and run the zip line tour very safely and they have a very cool vocabulary of zip line moves and poses mine the Superman! The eco tour is awesome because you also get a bit of insight about the island and the plant and wildlife that live on the island. I have ziplined numerous times and this was by far my favorite. Our guides, the group we were with, and most amazingly the views which were so picturesque all made it a great outing. You get many legs all of which very in length, height and style and different views of the hillsides and ocean. Both guides were helpful in answering any and every question we had and Manny even gave me some maps and good insight about hiking trails on the island. I thought this was a great activity and was thoroughly pleased with not only the experience itself but the service we were given. They do take your picture on the last leg but it only works sometimes and for us it didn’t so make sure to either bring a camera with a strap or have zipper pockets or you can even put your phone in your bra like I did and I was fine. Also make sure to wear sunscreen because it’s deceptive but you may get burnt. I am not prone to easy burns and even my shoulders got red. Overall It was a great time with good laughs in between all of the legs.

Incredible Experience!
Zip lining has always been on my bucket list so I took my Mom for her 63^rd Birthday
The entire experience was exhilarating as well as entertaining. The guides are knowledgeable and informative about both zip lining and the island. Who knew I’d get a little history lesson on the tram ride up to the 1^st platform.
I’ve hear people say that this course does not compare to others around the world but I had a blast and can’t wait to do it again!

Couple tips: Cruise ships come in on Mon & Tues mornings but they have to be back on board around 4 so we had the mountain to ourselves. If you can… go in the afternoon after they masses leave the island. There was only 4 in our group so we did the course pretty quick. Not a lot of waiting around but enough time to take in the views.

Today my wife and i celebrated our 34^th wedding anniversary and 1 of the things we did was the zipline. It was a blast. Hint bring your go pro. They have helmets and you could mount. You can take your camera just be careful holding it while zipping, 1 customer ahead of us dropped their phone into canyon. Those who used camera with strap did okay. Our guides Christian and Elroy were knowledgeable about the island and certainly zipping. I highly recommend this to anyone. Oh, apparently 1 of 30 dont have picture taken at the end of the 5 cables, i was 1 of the 30… and that was ok.

Gotta love Yafet & Justin! These guys from start to finish we’re professional & also brought something else to the table that many others don’t… I’m referring to as positivity. Not only were these guys positive and encouraging but they also cracked jokes and lifted everyone’s spirits by laughing the entire 2 ½ tour.

Our guides Deven and Denzel were terrific. They were professional and personable and we trusted their abilities completely. The zip line experience is only 5 relatively short lines (much shorter than some of the other zip lines I have done) which is why I can’t give it a perfect score. For the price, it only lasted about an hour and half, including the bus ride up, and waiting for the other members of the group. It was the first time my friend had been on a zip line and the guides were very patient with her and made her feel comfortable and safe. The view was pretty amazing.

What an amazing way to cap off the weekend with the family. I went to Catalina for a wedding (that happened Saturday) and the previous day was when we arrived. Walking along the boardwalk, we saw a booth for the Eco Zip Line tour and spontaneously signed up for it… NO REGRETS!
Sunday couldn’t have some sooner. I believe we were the first tour of the day. I went with my boyfriend, his aunts, uncle, and 7 YEAR OLD cousin! We checked in/signed waivers prior to getting fitted for our helmets and harness. After, we were given a detailed instruction on the do/do not’s of the tour. Shortly after the instructions, we hopped on the bus where one of our guides, Denny was giving us a mini tour of Avalon on the way to where we needed to be.
Our guides Denny and Christian were AWESOME! The tour was full of puns but they most importantly made sure we were all safe and not as nervous. When we reached to where we needed to be, they again gave us instructions and made sure we were all good to go and double checked our harnesses, etc. I was scared to death of heights but i swear that the zip line tour was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life. Denny and Christian also told us to do certain hand movements in order to turn our body to face Descanso Beach as we zipped through
I would definitely go on this tour again, especially with the tour guides we had! The eco zip line tour is highly recommended if you want to do something else than lay at the beach in Avalon :)

If i can do it YOU CAN DO IT !! — Really
We made the reservation and i was totally fine about the zip lining, until when i saw the height of first 2 zip lines. There was no way i was gonna zip after that, but i am glad I had friends to push me hard to try it. Even the instructor was really helpful though out the time. If you are scared, here is my advice do not give up just like that, go and see, if you have questions ask them, you will be just fine. Unlike skydiving and roller coaster, there is no free fall :) :)

Catalina Zip Line is awesome — safe, clean, and nice staff.
Safety — double cables secured to anchored metal supports. Great braking system that slows you down automatically. I’ve been zip lining in Puerto Vallarta where they have single rusty cables secured to trees, and braking is all up to the customer applying the hand brake.
Some more safety and staff — staff fits you with a helmet and fully secures you in a body harness. They fully explain safety and give tips on not hurting yourself. Two tour guides led our group of 10 zip liners from the cruise ship.
Views from the five lines are pretty good — some have mountain views, while others have awesome ocean views.
Highly recommended for first timers!

I took a solo day trip to Catalina Island to explore the little town that packs so much character and so many cool activities.
There’s a casino, restaurants, rock climbing, zip lining, snorkeling, you name it!
I chose the Zip Line Eco Tour. Because I’d gone alone I had no one to capture my coolness but a sweet family who were traveling together decided to adopt me for the duration of the tour. They took all of my photos and cheered me on each time I took a nose dive into these beautiful trees. Just wish I remembered their names (we even have a family photo together)
Anywho, the staff was great! Super interactive. Made me feel comfortable and safety was always reinforced. All the gear you need is available right on the spot; they’ll hook you up into the safety harness & helmet before take-off. The staff all introduced themselves and encouraged having fun, letting go and taking in the view… all of which I did.
This was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back to fly high again.

I’ve ziplined before in Thailand where it cost $ 70, so paying $ 110 for two hours and only five lines was more expensive… But this is America and I understand it will be more expensive here.
The two instructors were fun and engaging. Our appointment was at 2:00 so we arrived thirty min early to sign waivers, stow stuff in lockers, and get geared up. The info session began at 2:00 sharp, with everyone geared up.
We were worried about lockers before. There is plenty of locker space. You can bring a backpack and, depending on how expanded it is, it should fit in the locker. For oversized items, an employee can take it for safekeeping.
For photos, you can use your camera/phone/gopro but at your own risk since there is a graveyard of electronics under the zipline route. Those with otter box phone cases can attempt to attach the beltclip to your harness… it might work in taking a video of your zip across.
Everyone zipped across by 4 pm sharp at the last platform. Taking in account the time to walk back to camp, remove gear, and collect belongings, the overall time duration is 2.5−3 hours (1:30 to 4:15).
Ziplining was the highlight of our Catalina island trip and definitely worth a visit!
