At one time great food and service. Eric’s food quality has really back into hell. Once the best breakfast, breakfast burrito and burgers on the island, now the worst. Over beaned no real substance nor flavor. It’s terrible and they know it. Tourist trap attitude from the employees. Very expensive.

It was pier food which I thought, why not let me give it a chance. I got a fish taco fried and it came with cabbage and ‘salsa’ but the salsa was actually a few giant chunks of tomato which didn’t make it look more appetizing. The fish was OK and the taco as a whole did the job but I wasn’t satisfied walking away. The funnel cakes did not look appetizing at all. We were sitting at the far left of the bar stools and could see the funnel cakes just hanging in a glass box with lightbulbs, it was sad and unappetizing. If you want quick cheap food it’s decent but not good.

Figured this place would be good considering the amount of people constantly swarming this place, but it unfortunately wasn’t. Spent 30 dollars for two not so good burgers, cheese fries, and a drink. The cheese fries were pretty good, but that was about it. I got a bison burger and it tasted like literally nothing. No flavor to it at all. Not sure if bison is just a not flavorful meat since it was my first time trying it, but it tasted like nothing. My boyfriends normal burger was just okay too. It was enough to fill us, but wasn’t anything special.

Looked like a really cool local hole in the wall eatery but turned out to be quite underwhelming! I had the Buffalo burger and some fries, the burger was ok but a bit dry and the bun seemed sort of wet maybe due to to much butter ??? The fries where just plain horrible, mealy!!! How does one screw up French fries? My spouse had 3 tacos that looked really good and he said they where pretty bland and tasteless! This is out first trip to Catalina Island, we really like it and we will go back, we just won’t visit Eric’s again!;-(

Kind of expensive for what they offer! The fish and chips were alright, but definitely the breading/crisp at other fish and chips places are better in my opinion. There is a deal though for getting a beer with the tacos which is nice. Cool place to just grab something and sit by the pier. Can’t leave the white line zone with a beer though!

Really good buffalo burger! Considering they’re on the edge of the pier, they don’t have much seats available. But the beach is right there so you can just go sit on the sand to have your meal, which we did by the way. Price wise, remember that everything is way more expensive in Catalina.

Must try if you love beer! Craft beers brewed in house. Happy hour taster flight only $ 6.50 and pints $ 4.50 plus gave us free soft salted pretzels! My fave was the Gariblondie Agave Blonde!

Eric’s is a great place to grab… fast food. IF ya bitch about the price, don’t eat there, after all, you are in Catalina where everything is a tad more expensive. If you want a quick burger or fish and chips, go on by…

We had the Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. Not bad, but not amazing either. A little salty for my taste. The bread was pretty good, though. Cute location right on the pier. Loved the seating along the pier.

Chowder Bread Bowl was meh. But the guy was rude, and insisted on cash. I gave him my card because I was out, and it said invalid even though I know it works.

Really really good food. I had breakfast, but I’ve also had lunch here. They’re a little high on their prices but the food is really good

Over priced for the food. The clam chowder was hardly that. More like warm mop water with milk. Only deal was the tacos with a beer and only because of the size of the taco and of course because beer, still pricey. Don’t recommend.

This little eatery is super casual and is outdoors. It is right on the green pier and it very accessible. It gets really crowded and you may have a hard time finding a table/seat. We got a clam chowder and that was a-ok in my books. It was saltier than I usually like my clam chowder to be but maybe because it was fresh that the ocean’s saltiness was still there? I would come back and try some of their fried stuff.

My husband & I were visiting Catalina over the weekend. Had a little time to kill waiting for the Catalina Express back home so we stopped here. He got a michelada & I got an ice cream cone(no booze for me… Im preggo lol). Hubby says the michelada was one of the best he’s ever had… And he’s had his fair share to compare. In my opinion it was slightly overpriced for a pier fast food counter($ 14 total for the 2 items), but service was good.

After arriving on the fabulous Island of Catalina to spend my birthday. We woke and found ourselves going for a pre lunch stroll. We walked to the Pier and found what looked to be a very thriving bar/café on the pier. The tables were full and the sun was out. They had a breakfast menu and I suggested to my wife a quick snack before lunch… It looked great! HOWWRONGWAS I ! …We queued up which only took 10 mins and both ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was 4th July weekend but it was the Friday 3rd July and it appeared a lot of tourist were only just arriving to celebrate, so it wasn’t jam packed… just full. We ordered our food and it came to around $ 20 including the OJ. I gave him $ 25. A thought a bit of a rip for a quick snack, but worth it if it’s good… it WASN’T. Now after ordering I noticed something strange… no one was actually eating! everyone seemed really pissed off! The Orange Juice I ordered was hotter than the sun, I chucked it after a couple of sips… we then found some shade away from the restaurant. I came back…10 mins later still no sign of the bacon sarnie. We got a table and noticed a lot of people frustrated around us. 30 mins after ordering, I was ready to throw in the towel. I looked into the kitchen and the chef was EATING his own breakfast! 45 mins after ordering, I finally had enough and went up and asked to cancel my order, I had been at this shack for an hour and eaten nothing. It was then he produced the most miserable looking sandwich I have ever seen! It was a crusty piece of bread with some old dried up fatty bacon attached. we both looked at it, and handed it back to him. I told him it to eat it himself and I would simply be writing a review! Please see attached picture. WORSTBREAKFASTPLACE on Catalina without a shadow of a doubt. Overpriced. Disgusting food, served with a lazy attitude and sloppy cooking. We later went for a fantastic seafood lunch around the corner… the day was not ruined.

The most amazing fish and chips and tacos. We loved the shrimp tacos. The fish and chips and shrimp and chips were amazing. They have vinegar to go with it which is just marvelous. It doesn’t look like a very appealing spot but it was the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. A must go to when on the island.

Good location, so so food. It’s on the pier, hence good scenery, but you know it gets a bit crowded at lunch time bc they don’t have that many outdoor seatings. We ordered calamari and chips and a large fries. Apparently, i forgot the chips are fries. so we ended up with two large fries… and threw away one… And the calamari is in stick shape not ring shapes. Well. and the beer is 6 – 7 bucks i think for a cup. A bit pricy, so we went to the other side and drank a flight instead at brewing company.

Like all food on the island, it’s overpriced. I hate beginning every review of every food joint on Catalina that way but there it is. The food is all made to order, so that is good. Not much seating so grab a table or counter if one opens up. The cheeseburger was decent, the hot dog was delicious(but served on a hamburger bun – really?), the fish tacos were ok(loaded with way too much cabbage), and the fries were delicious. Would I return? Sure, for the burger and fries. If you need a quick, casual meal, I suppose you could do a lot worse.

You know those marvelous funnel cakes you can get at the county fair, piled high and fluffy with powdered sugar? Well that’s not what you’ll get at this food stand if you order a funnel cake. Sheesh, it tasted like they used the same styrofoam-tasting batter as they’d fry their fish with, and probably in the same oil, too :/. Eric’s on the Pier is a good source of on-the-spot beverages however. This came in handy a few times as the family and I were frolicking on the nearby beach. Be sure to tell them to go light on the crushed ice, or your lemonade will be gone in three hard pulls. If you are strolling around the shore and get a sudden craving for dessert, my advice would be to skip the funnel cake and have their Thrifty brand ice cream instead. Or just go to Olaf’s or Lloyd’s and get their shitacular Dreyer’s for three times what you’d pay on the mainland. It’s your money.

If you’re on this island, things get pricey. This is one of the few places that won’t burn through your wallet. They provide beach type food like frozen banana, funnel cake, etc. However, they also provide burgers, clam chowder, hot dogs, etc. The turn around time for food is quick. I ordered their burger with fries and a drink for about $ 10. There was nothing special about the burger, but you can’t expect much from what you paid. Although, I do have to say that In-n-Out is still still better! And cheaper! They operate as a fast food. You place your order, they give you a tent card, you wait, they will call your number and you can pick up your food. My friend ordered their frozen banana. It didn’t look too fresh. Once she ordered it, the frozen banana was just about ready. The banana looked a little too rip, as well. They also offer one free refill on your soda. If you’re visiting Catalina and you’re looking to save a bit, then I’d recommend this place. It is quick, cheap, and the food is decent. All the tables are located outside, so you get to sit along the dock and do some people watching.
