This liquor store might be conveniently located on the corner of Biscayne and 163rd St but it’s only really accessible to northbound travelers on Biscayne. Once you get in there the selection is completely sub-standard. They carry most of usual suspects but none of the quality brands. This is not the place to go if you’re looking for a fine wine or a nice aged scotch. It’s also not cheap. Everything seems to be marked up slightly. You might think their customer service was almost completely non-existent if it didn’t come with a hint of offense. Asking a question seemed to elicit contempt as if they just expected me to fork over some cash and be on my way. With so many other superior options in the area, this place is not worth the trouble.

Ever since I turned 21, I’ve been a fan of ABC. Compared to many of the liquor stores in Miami, they are relatively organized and the overall up-keep of the store is usually cleverly merchandised, so I must say, I did walk in with some pretty high expectations. But there were some things that bothered me… First off, the beer selection came up a little short to what I usually find in the ABC down in the Kendall area, but what really disappointed me about the selection was that most of the really good micro beers were not being chilled. They had one fridge full of Rogue and Sierra Nevada, but as for the Rasputin and more rare labels, they were shunned to the warm display.(It’s not the end of the world, but if i am going to a party, I want my beer cold when I buy it.) As for the rest of the store, it was nice. For some reason, pretty much ALL the whiskey is behind the counter, even the cheaper names like Jameson, which I couldn’t figure out. The wine is organized by country and price, which makes for a great way to find what you’re looking for, at least in my opinion. Overall, I liked it… They would have gotten 4 stars if they would have had Flying B**ch ale.

Thought I would stop in after I left Total Wine, where they did not have a particular bottle of wine that I was looking for. Hoping they just might have it here. Well no luck, so I strolled around to see if anything else might just catch, my eye. This chain is great if you need spirits but as far as wine selection, agh many other places have a better selection and prices. The staff were friendly asking me if I needed any help. Not sure how knowledgeable they are as I helped myself. An OK store for some spirit purchases, and they had some cool holiday gift sets. Prices are average.

This place is a mixed bag. On the one had I was able to find a Super Tuscan in its separate«wine cellar» that I couldn’t find at Total Wines and on the other hand the selection of Tuscan wines was dismal. The staff didn’t have much knowledge about wine but were as helpful and friendly as they could be! This store gets 2 stars for the selection of wines, but the beer selection and liquor selection appeared better. Definitely not worth the drive to Aventura area for me!
