Hobby Lobby

My husband is a mason, and was building an outdoor fireplace in the west valley last week. We live in northern phoenix, our 6 yr old daughter had early release from school on wednesday and i had the day off so we decided to go with him and have a girls day shopping around all the stores ive seen off the I10 in that area. We have a hobby lobby near our house but with my work schedule i havent been able to make it in there. So i was super excited on our way to dropping off my husband when i saw a hobby lobby, and even tho it was about 8 miles away from where i planned on shopping i was glad to make the drive since i have been trying for weeks to make it in there. I wasent looking for anything specific just wanted to check it out. So the minute we walked in one of the employees said «welcome to hobby lobby» and the look on her face u could tell she had some kind of problem with me. As my daughter and i walked through the first couple of aisles i felt uncomfortable, it felt like the employee with the dirty look was following me through the store.
Everytime i turned around she was there, i could feel her staring but once i turned she would appear to be working (re organizing merchandise ect
.).after a minute a male employee joined her. And no matter what aisle we went to they were both there. Same story. I would turn to look at them and they would suddenly look away pretendung to be busy
Finally i said «why are u following me?» she replied eith attutude «no.i work here maam».
Hmmm ok so we continued through the store with with those two employees never more than 5 feet away from us. I was beyond uncomfortable and ready to leave at that point just about halfway through the store and with my daughter in mind i didnt want to start a scene. so i went to check out with the two items we had picked out thus far. She pretendedto «work» right near me even then. We walked outside i started my car and dvd player for my kid and stood outside in a rage trying to call my husband. The male employee came out and was gathering carts and picking up trash in what to me was an obvious attempt to get my liscense plate number. i confronted him and he said «just doing my job maam» i said «whats your job? To harass patrons innocently shopping with their kids?» he said that someone saw me «put something in my purse» i said check it than! He put his hands up like no im not gonna do that then walked inside. Ive never felt so umcomfortable in my life!!! I have a dermal piercing on my cheek bone and neon red hair. That woman looked at me and put me in a box as a criminal theif. If they honestly thought i had stolen something isnt it their right to detain me and call the police? Oh yeah she didnt know i stole she thought i was going to steal, theres a big difference there. Judgin someones character and morale based on hair
color? Hobby lobby just lost another customer

The best craft store in the area! Love going to just look at all the cute new home décor. I love to do crafts, so this is my store! You can find anything and everything here, and usually anything I need to buy is on sale. If not, I wait a week or two, and it will go on sale! It is nice to have this store so close to where I live, don’t have to drive far!

When I decided to attempt a wall gallery there was no doubt where I would be heading. This store is amazing! Unique finds, inexpensive pricing, and this particular location is cleaner than most. Love it!

I absolutely love what hobby lobby offers as far as crafts. But this location has by far the worst customer service! You guys should really appreciate your customers because if they weren’t there you wouldn’t have a job!

LOVE This place! HL has everything you need and more. Prices at times seem to be more like Pier one import but just not as high. Staff is not the friendliest. I still love and support this place for its values.

I used to like coming to this store because they have a variety of crafts. Although, they are a bit pricer then other stores. They do have a weekly coupon (like Michaels craft store), usually 40% off one regular priced item, ONE coupon PER DAY. Now this is stupid. Any one can get their coupon on a smart phone. Which means you can use it again and again if you really want to on the same visit. Just have to return to the store multiple times without getting caught. Just don’t go to the same cashier (like I did-​mistake).
I wanted to purchase three custom matting. They are not cheap. I ordered three matting, took two to check out with a frame. Then return to pickup the other matting and a frame. I couldn’t carry out both frames because they were quite heavy and their shopping cart is too small to hold. When I was ready to check out I took it to the same cashier. She recognized me and wouldn’t let me use the same coupon on my phone. If I would’ve known I would’ve went to another cashier. I spoke to the managers and both managers rather throw away the already custom cut matting then to sell it to me with coupon discount. What a way to run your business. Terrible! The managers were terrible and arrogant. Insulted me for not reading the fine print. I will not return to this store or any hobby lobby again.

Tells me she can’t accept the hobby lobby coupon from an app, it HAS to be from the website, which is stupid because it’s the SAME EXACT coupon. I use the mobile coupon just fine at the one near Arrowhead. I’ll just stick to that one from now on.

This store has everything you need for crafts!!! Great merchandise. Lots of fantastic ideas:))) I love this store!

Hey manager, if you are listening… your store has a problem. I don’t know if it is the employees or the manager of the employees, but the last few times I’ve been in this store it has taken an absurd amount of time to find an employee to help. Case in point, the spray paint case. It’s locked. The logical way to handle a locked case would be to have an employee stationed near it always in order to avoid losing business or pissing off customers (oops, too late). Even when I tracked down an employee (on the other side of the store, mind you) their calls over the loud speaker went unanswered. I went up to what seemed to be a manager type person and he wasn’t very nice (he wasn’t mean directly towards me, but having him make a call seemed to annoy him). Sorry guy. I guess managing from a stationary spot in the front of the store isn’t very effective. Try walking.
I walked 500 miles. I won’t walk 500 more. That’s how long it took to find a non-​cashier employee to help. It is pretty pathetic when a group of people find each other all looking for help and none of us can find any.
Oh, and your prices are ridiculous. I like how you mark everything up just to mark it back down and pretend like there is a sale every day of the week. Unfortunately, this rant is above your store and applies to ALL Hobby Lobby’s so I digress.
Also, I completely agree with the other comments about you being Christian based and also being the least customer service oriented store I’ve ever been to.

By far, the WORST of all the Hobby Lobby locations in valley! I have been to six other locations besides this who all have supurb customer service with knowledgable staff and competent managers. Glad I am only visiting this side of town.

I was not sure what to expect when walking into a Hobby Lobby for the first time. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! This place is Craft/​DIY/​Pinterest heaven! Kind of like a Micheal’s meets Home Goods meets Hell Yeah (even though the Christians ran joint might not like that reference too much)!
If you see something on Pinterest and need to find the materials/​tools/​etc. necessary to do the job, most likely you will find them here! The odds are forever in your favor. If you are looking to spruce up that living room or your man cave, you will even find décor items to help. I could easily spend a week and thousands of $$$ here… and I’m sure you could to. Leave the credit card at home!

I love Hobby Lobby ! Whatever it is I’m looking for in the crafts, home and more, department, it’s always here. Great prices, helpful staff, all the good stuff !

My daughter decribes Hobby Lobby as «Michael’s on crack.» She’s right.
HL should not be missed when visiting Phoenix. It delights the eyes, ears, thought processes of anyone even marginally creative.
Christmastime, it’s even more fun.

Nice store and nice staff. They always have seasonal decorations which is great. Things can be hard to find sometimes since there is so much stuff, but the staff is always there to help.

I always find it fascinating that Christian based stores tend to be the least friendly, least customer service oriented, and least… well Christian of retail stores.
HL has a fantastic selection of all things crafts, home décor, and even furniture. It’s laid out nicely and not jam packed in like at Michaels where you can barely get a cart down the aisles. I have always found exactly what i need plus a few additional ideas whenever I’ve gone to HL. They have lots of great sales too making it not such a pinch on the pocketbook.
But if you are looking for guidance, help, or even just basic customer service, take a deep breath and pause because you’re not too likely to get it here at this store.

I’ve been here a few times and have been able to find what I’m looking for each time. Friendly staff. I’ll probably write another review based on my framing experience but this is a huge store. You can probably find anything crafty here!

This place is large. It is like a Micheal’s craft store mixed with a Kirklands. If you need pictures framed, buy print art, decorate your home with nick knacks, they even have some furniture.
They also have craft stuff such as model airplanes, paints, glues, etc. If you need to decorate your home or feel like being crafty go here.
Seriously a huge store full of ideas for your next project. Creative, crafty people must go.

It’s a great store… the only gripe is that the lines are always super long and there is sometimes only one register open.
Now for the good schtuff… I appreciate the fact that there are always 50% off sales. Whether it is wall art, glassware, fabric or other décor themes!
Being a teacher, I am always on the look out for good deals for craft ideas to do in my classroom. Considering I pay out of pocket for these things… it’s great to have a place to go that has good deals. Suggestion: follow suit with other craft stores and offer an educator discount! Any little bit helps!

OMG! I did not absorb all they offered there or I would have short circuited, LOL! I went straight in for look for decorated fabric for a headboard. My head was spinning as I was walking through picture frames, xmas things, crafts, shirts, etc. Then finally fabric. I need to come back on a week day night (less people) to scope out the entire place. I can’t imagine not finding anything you need for your crafty projects here.
