Saddle Up & Ride

What an amazing party! Bobbi Jo and Tonto rock!!! From the wonderful horse rides, professional set-​up, and unique’ birthday cake eating horse’, the experience was top notch. Bobbi Jo is extraordinarily friendly and professional and even did free face painting for our little guests. We received nothing but compliments for the event!!! Oh joy!

This was an outstanding experience I’ve been on horses before but never had someone to instruct me about the horses and guide me and how horses think and being able to do that facilitate my ability to maneuver around the field. Bobbi was such a good instructor anyone who is interested in learning more about horses and how to ride them she would be the perfect person thank you Bobbi for your patients and for making us feel welcome we would definitely be back thank you.

I had an amazing time taking a lesson at Saddle Up and Ride. Bobbi is a wonderful instructor whose enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. This is one of the first riding lessons I’ve taken where I not only worked on my skills and actively listened to my cues, but I had fun! I enjoyed myself so much and learned such a vast amount in such a short lesson that I have already booked my lesson for next week! I recommend Saddle Up and Ride for anyone who might be
thinking of learning to ride or starting to ride again in a welcoming environment!

All I can say is simply amazing! Bobbi Jo was phenomenal! I grew up riding horses as a teenager but my husband had never been on a horse in his life! We decided it would be a fun hobby for the two of us to do together and so after finding Saddle up and ride my husband took lessons (great prices too!)! I was a little worried about joining the bridge city horse community as a gay couple but everybody made us feel welcome and Bobbi Jo treated us like family! I’ve reco several of my friends (especially with children) to take lessons with Th panty! We both enjoyed the lessons so much we decided to lease horses from the saddle up and ride stables. Great place, wonderful people, and awesome atmosphere!

Genuine Western horse riding lessons taught by an experienced and patient instructor. Bobbi Jo teaches about horses and how they behave, not just how to ride them. And safety is always emphasized. Each lesson starts with grooming the designated horse, saddling up, exercising the horse, and only then, riding.
This was a bucket list thing for me and has become a high point of my week. This is a working ranch and stable, not a fancy club. I leave all the stress of daily life behind when I turn down the road into the ranch on Sunday mornings.
One special memory is the day we worked in the small arena and she told me to close my eyes while riding. I could really feel the movement of the horse then, and felt no fear at all. A second was the day she pronounced me no longer a beginner and sent me off for a solo victory lap around the big arena. And a third was when we first rode at speed between poles. So far we have worked on three different horses, each selected as the best for that day’s learning. I have learned a lot about horses, but also a lot about myself.
Rates for lessons are truly reasonable, especially when purchased in blocks of five.
