I was kind of hesitant to try this place because it is rarely packed and looks a little run down but — ITISDELICIOUS. We will be back :)

Not open on sunday, but real TexMex Of course a real family style TexMex restaurant wouldn’t be open on Sunday. Texas Monthly says TexMex is disappearing in favor of fusion dishes, but not as long as Josefinas’s is open. I’d give the cheese chile relleno a 3⁄5 just because it wasn’t crispy, but the chicken fajitas were 5⁄5! Cheap, and you can save a bunch bringing your own margaritas since its BYOB.

My review echoes some of the other reviews here. The outside is very quaint and inviting but the interior needs a refresh. It kind of sets you back a little bit. The service was extremely friendly and efficient and we enjoyed speaking with our server where we learned about the history of the the café, which was pretty neat. The food was good, nothing over the top, but solid Mexican fare. It’s also one of the only Mexican places open on Monday so that makes it sort of unique around Azle. All that being said, I would probably look here for more of a lunch spot than dinner. Simple and tasty with zero frills…

If you are looking for a pretty place, this is not it. If you are looking for friendly staff and great texmex at a cheap price, this is your spot! If I could get my arteries to agree, I could eat the quesadilla with stewed chicken every day. My kids would live on their rice. I haven’t heard anyone complain about anything that they have ordered there. It would be nice if they could update the restrooms as they are pretty rough… but I am willing to overlook that for the food.

Nothing fancy here. Friendly, family atmosphere, wish they would go non– smoking though. Fast service! Chips and salsa are great! Queso– fail. More like cheese sauce from a can. Flour tortillas– don’t seem hand made. Tacos are INCREDIBLE! Cheese enchiladas are really good and cheesy and amazing chili meat sauce!!! Need more kids meal options too!!!

Authentic Tex-Mex served by a friendly family of hosts. Great price especially if you get the special which will be a very generous portion.

Love the name of this place. Fits the cute look of the outside. The interior leaves some to be desired. Mediocre service. Liked the food, though I wasn’t crazy about it. Observed the owner man being kinda rude to his employees, which was kinda a turn off. All in all this place is OK.

Josefina’s is a family ran Tex-Mex restaurant. The food is authentic. It is great place for lunch as they usually have a lunch special. They do not serve alcohol at this time. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Sometime they are a little stingy on the hot sauce. You just have to tell them you are going to need more. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. I have had several of their menu items and they are all good. Again, a great place for lunch.
