I’ve been going to the one in El monte for ever and always been good quality of meat, I recently moved to covina and was happy that there was a good meat market that looked familiar anywho, I tend to bbq at least once every couple of weeks I would say that about a month ago I went in to buy some Costillitas de rez that were preparadas I noticed an off smell while they were putting them in the bag but thought to myself maybe it was just my weird nose so once I got home I turned my grill on and proceeded to throw them on there when, to mine and my wife’s surprise my nose was right and they smelled very rotten, I took them back and quietly spoke with the older gentleman that is always there I think he’s the manager he was very nice and asked if I wanted my money back or fresh meat I told him sure I’ll take some fresh meat I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, the second batch was good, now let’s move forward to this past week I wanted to bbq so I went and bought some ranchera and Costillitas took them home cooked them and to our unpleasant surprise me and my wife ended up with stomache aches and nasua the following day, it’s too bad too customer service was always great but I won’t be visiting them anymore, larios it is from now on

I like getting meat here when I am in the area, but I was looking for cheek meat (cachete in Spanish) and they needed to order it. What? A Mexican meat market that does not carry cheek meat daily.
They lost a star because of it.

Have been coming here for years. All their meat is inexpensive and good. I highly recommend their marinade boneless chicken and the asada. If you don’t feel like making your salsa, they have a variety to choose from: red, green and guacamole. Don’t forget your chips to go with it. Their avocados are really good too, a must buy. Did I mention they have already made carnitas, rice, beans…
If you haven’t tried this place; give it a try you won’t regret it.

Came here hoping to find good inexpensive meat we left very happy. The chipotle and habanero wings are the best! Salsas are good and all the meat is quality.

Love this place! Family owned and has the best customer service in town!!! Been coming here for years and enjoy getting my food here. They have have hot and ready or ready to BBQ!!! Must stop by and support them!!!

The service is always nice. The carne and fresh cheeses and salsas are always delicious and almost every time we visit, we get a free avocado!

This is one of the best Mexican meat market I have had. The meat is always fresh and cut to order. Friendly staff. Fresh tortilla chips and affordable produce.

Had my friends BBQ (asada/​chicken) a few times and I’m not a real big meat eater, but this stuff was delicious! I was hooked on their guacamole salsa that I had to find this place and go get some for myself.

ok been here 3 times in the last year cuz my mom would rant and rave about it for years. got the ranchera marinated flap meat, and some marinated chicken thigh, chips and queso fresco.
customer service was pretty good every time i been there and is typical based on what my mom tells me. the actual quality of meat is fairley good, not like usda prime or anything but you can tell they get there meat from a reputable source and maybe why the price are high.
so the biggest thing id say about this place is 1 there prices, given the meat is decent quality but they charge the same for unmarinated and marinated ranchera steak, so thats my first que there is somthing fishy going on. on top of that the marinades taste off, and flat, i detect the hint of allspice in the carne asada. the chicken taste like its the same marinade too. id say its not bad taste wise, but for the price your paying you can go to another meat market and buy the same cuts for cheaper and marinade your self with much much better results. i will say the chips tasted fresh and the cheese were of good quality, and they have some decent produce that i used to make some of my killer salsas, which was what saved the meats when we ate the btw. so id say out of 10 they are a 6, nothing great and maybe even a little mediocre, if they better prices it would be a good spot to pick up meats for a get together. but they charge way to much sorry next

This is a good meat market with most everything you need both fresh and canned. It has a smaller produce selection than I would like but the big sign outside does say «meat». The prices are fair for most commodities yet many items you’d rather buy at Superior Market down the street.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl, same owner since then. Majority of the time he gives you free avocados when you get check out!
I love love love their chicken marinade! They have the best chicken & carne asada here in town! You must bbq it, lil twist of lime and their handmade tortilla chips, and a corona… BAM…you got action !! Limes and lemons are cheap usually 5 for $ 1, they just came out with a new habanero flavor marinade, has a good spicy kick but the regular chicken marinade is bomb! Just beware your fingers will turn orange when barbecuing well worth it! Enjoy!

Been coming here for 3 years now. Best carne in town. This meat is better than Larios, and I’ve had both. Great service behind the meat counter. Best avacados also. I will continue to choose this meat market.

With this summer heat, we find ourselves bbqing a lot this time of year. And La Pradera Carniceria is the perfect place to get all your meats. That’s pretty much their specialty here. They do have a a little grocery for a few necessities, but that’s about it.
I’ve been here on several occasions for their marinated meat and it never disappoints. Their marinade is so good here. They even have some spicier marinades for those folks who like heat. Not me.
The meats here are a little pricey but worth the money.
Tip: Use tongs or gloves when handling the marinated meat. It’ll definitely stain your hands.

I went here last friday and I would have to say they got decent prices for good quality mexican bbq supplies. The marinated carne asada and spicy chicken i got was tender and fresh according to my guests. I also picked up some salsa which was tasty and their tortilla selection wasnt bad either. All in all it seemed like a nice family owned business.

Great service. Great meat. Some of the best preparada meat and costillitas I’ve had. To top it all off the free avocados sure made my visit worth coming back. Found the new spot.

One of the best places around to grab some fresh steak at inexpensive prices.
Staff is super friendly and knowledgable.
They don’t really sell much else besides the meat, a few necessities for a meal, but that’s it.

One of the best spots to grab meat period! The carne asada here is what it’s all about, and I’d also have to say the chicken. The meat here is expensive but worth it:
Carne Asada Marinated (oct.2013) 6.95 a lb
Chicken Marinated (oct 2013) 3.95 a lb
You have to get marinated if you drove here, it’s worth it. If you don’t youre only saving yourself about a dollar or so but you’re not getting the right experience.
This place by far carries the best meat in quality and taste and I’ve made the drive all the way from West Covina if I wanted to have a great bbq.
One con though:
That marinade will stain your hands so be aware.

Had a party this weekend and bought all our Asada and chicken from La Pradera and it was delicious as always. The workers are all very friendly and speak English and Spanish.

I was getting real hungry as It was around 6:00PM driving west on Arrow Hwy. thru Covina when I almost past it but was able to manuver a quick right into the big parking lot at La Pradera Carniceria.
I have come here a few times to buy Carne Asada & Pollo to grill but have never bought the cooked Pork Carnitas until today… I also bought the prepared Chile Salsa Roja, Queso Fresco & a few Chicharones. I had a ripe Fuerte Avocado at home. We made some of the Best Carnitas tacos which we all enjoyed! I highly recommend this Good Mexican Carniceria.
The Azusa store is worth the drive — Take the 210 Fwy East — Exit Azusa Ave and drive South, Make a left Arrow Hwy. Its on the North side of the street.
They also have a store in El Monte & Santa Ana FYI.
