They might have ice cream sandwiches that are comparable to Diddy Reese (which I doubt). Didnt get to find out because they closed early! Got there 10 mins before they closed — and didn’t have anything left to sell!

So meh. The cookies lacked flavor and so did the ice cream. Although the portion was big, the selection was so small. I wasn’t expecting Diddy Reise by any means, but I was expecting a better cookie sandwich than ones I’ve made at home. Oh well, at least now I know.

Choose 2 of your favorite homemade cookies, and sandwich them with 2 scoops of your favorite ice cream… All I can say is yumm, though I wish there was one near me. Maybe it’s a good thing there isn’t. Great deal at $ 3.00 for a huge ice cream sandwich.

We might have had a better experience if there was more of a selection.
The availability of cookies and ice cream was sparse, and the service was just blah.
The spoons provided to eat the dessert were super flimsy and annoying.
On the other hand…
Three bucks for a vanilla/​chocolate chip ice cream sandwich isn’t bad.

I came here on for dessert on Saturday night and the place was pretty quiet. There were a couple of people and while we were sitting there eating, another group of people came in.
So, this place is in a plaza with a Stater Bros. and it’s in the same place as Spinella Pasta Bar (which I’ve been meaning to try), so it’s kind of interesting.
So when I came in they had a few different types of cookies out and you can buy cookies, ice cream, cookie ice cream sandwiches, floats, or this thing called «the challenge». I believe «the challenge» is a giant cookie with 8 scoops of ice cream for $ 20.00. If you finish it under 10 minutes you get your picture on the wall. If you finish it 5 or less you get it for free.
The cookie ice cream sandwiches were $ 3.00 each which isn’t too bad considering the cookies are kind of big. When I went they had sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip and some chocolate cookie. There may have been one more that I don’t remember. They have a selection of ice cream that was maybe 10 – 12 flavors including spumoni, medieval madness, and strawberry cheesecake.
Boyfriend got the mint chocolate chip sandwiches between 2 chocolate chip cookies. I got the medieval madness sandwiched between 2 sugar cookies. Overall it was okay. The cookies were soft, but nothing special. The ice cream was nothing special. No part of it made me go «OMG THIS IS SO GOOD» but if I’m looking for a cute little cookie ice cream sandwich nearby, I guess this would be my place to go to.

Looked through the pictures on Unilocal and thought this place couldn’t be turned down.
Got here around an hour before closing time, they were out of almost half of the ice cream flavors and almost all of the cookies.
My boyfriend and I both wanted sandwiches with chocolate chip cookies… but there were only two choc. chip cookies left, so we both got one choc. chip and one double choc. cookie. The double choc. wasn’t that great, but the regular chocolate chip was good. I ended up settling for cookie dough ice cream, but I really wanted either spumoni or strawberry cheesecake, which they were out of.
As many would compare this to Diddy Riese, I’d say Diddy Riese is hands down better, but not always up for the drive over there. This is a good alternative and I think the $ 3 is worth it. The cookies are large and they definitely don’t skimp on the ice cream, unlike Diddy Riese.

I would say more of 3.5 stars but not quite the 4.
This place is right by APU so you get a lot of the students that attend there here.
When you walk up to the counter, you have your selection of cookies and your selections of ice cream. The cookies are good. They’re soft and not too hard and their selection of ice cream isn’t what you would normally find. So for those who compared it to BJs? You can’t. Why? Because they’re totally different. A pazookie is a warm and fresh out of the oven cookie with ice on top. Plus, a pazookie isn’t an ice cream sandwich, it’s a pazookie. And those of you who compared it to diddy riese? Yes it’s more expensive than diddy riese, but hey why don’t you just take the drive on over there and good luck finding parking! I bet you’ll definitely spend more than a $ 1.50 on gas and parking to make up for the extra that you would have to have spend here!
It’s definitely a great treat to have. It’s not the same if you were to just buy some cookies and scoop ice cream in it. Their cookies are fresh more when there’s a crowd of course, but it’s still pretty good. The cookies aren’t as greasy as diddy riese and for me, that’s a plus.

Oh, The Cookie Mill.
For those of you aware, this is pretty much a Diddy Riese doppleganger transplated into the East San Gabriel Valley with prices being around doubled from the Westwood original.
The ice cream sandwiches are $ 3 (as of April 2011) and are made with two fresh-​baked cookies (you can mix and match, your choice) and a large serving of ice cream. All in all, I think it’s a good deal since I’ve had trouble finishing one serving and I think it’d be a good amount for two or so – but knowing that Diddy Riese does pretty much the exact same thing with around the same serving for less than The Cookie Mill’s price prevents me from giving them more than ³⁄₅.
I enjoy that it shares space with Spinella since spaghetti and ice cream seem to be a welcome combination to any carb-​lover like myself.

Not bad, but dunno if we’d come again.
NOTE: THE ADDRESS LISTED SOMEHOW MISDIRECTS VIA GPS! It’s on the corner of Barranca and Alosta (Route 66) in the Stater Brothers strip mall.
We love that they serve THRIFTY’S ice cream (especially since they had chocolate malt), but the cookies were just ok. Pretty buttery and a bit too hard. We liked it better than our experience at Diddy Riese for sure though!

The décor is cute. It reminds me of an old-​fashioned ice cream place, like in the movies.
The service was great.
The cookies and ice cream combo can be pretty sweet, so I recommend getting some water to clear out the palate.
If the sign they have posted is true, where if you eat the ice cream sandwich within 5 minutes, you’ll get your purchase free AND if you can’t do that but finish within 10 minutes, and get your name on the wall of fame, then there is something to strive for besides leisurely eating when visiting this establishment.
They also have a pasta bar (which I found odd), but the pasta bar was already closed by the time my friend and I got there.
For only $ 3 you get your choice of 2 cookies with two scoops of whatever ice cream flavors they have on hand.

75 Cents for a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie?! Oh yeah! These cookies are fresh, delicious, big, and only 75 cents. Super cheap. They have been super nice every time I’ve been there. I had lunch at Spinella Pasta Bar around 12pm and was craving for a sweet treat right after. Problem was that the Cookie Mill only opens at 1pm! The horror! However, the cookie chef in the kitchen was making cookies and I waving at him at him to sell me a cookie, even though it was only 12:30. Fortunately, the chocolate chip cookies were already done and he was nice enough to allow me to purchase one.
A random fact: They sell french fries, too. Haha!

PRICE: Too bad the ice cream cookie sandwiches are no longer $ 2 :(

Cute concept. I like cookies and I like ice cream, so can’t go wrong…
It’s a cool place to take someone here just for the experience. The extra perk for me when I came was that the chocolate chip cookies had just finished baking and were being put on display from the baking sheet. :)
However, the double chocolate cookie was a little hard.
NEGATIVE: While finding a place to sit down to enjoy my cookie sandwich, the 2 unoccupied tables hadn’t been cleaned yet. So we just picked one & wiped away the crumbs. The day we came there was a bunch of girls sitting together & one especially had this constant loud annoying laugh… so we just took off & I finished my sandwich in the car. :P
OVERALL, a little too sweet for my taste, but doesn’t mean I won’t come here again…

I felt the same way here like I felt for Diddy Riese. Yeah, some would say these two are incomparable, but creamwiches taste all too similar to me.
Q. What did I get?
A. Spumoni ice cream between chocochip/​white choco cookies. Ice cream was good, cookies were chewy but a bit on the hard side as well. I like my cookies soft and chewy or with a crunch. so either way, it works for me.
I’m sure there are other places that will prove me wrong but as of this moment, I stand firmly on a solid A-​OK.

$TWO dollars for TWO cookies and TWO scoops of ice cream! You cannot beat that! This place conveniently located near a college is fantastic. And the fact that this place is located also right next to the Pasta Bar O.M.G! Its almost heaven! Their cookies are soft and chewy. I usually get the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with the spumoni and mint chocolate chip ice cream. It honestly is very yummy and for sure very affordable. The staff is small but helpful, patient and friendly. The cookies are very warm and fresh but I do wish it would have more options. It has the basics on ice cream and cookies so not for someone looking for something different or being adventurous.
Def will recommend this place to anyone that is looking for some yummy cookies, ice cream for a very small price and a giant smile on your face. Maybe one day we can try the challenge.

What a tease. The Cookie Mill is conveniently located in The Pasta Bar so if you’re craving more or just tempted or just can’t help yourself, the smell wafting from the kitchen will make you curious enough to wander over and see what they’ve got going on.
For $ 2, you can get 2 freshly baked cookies and two scoops of ice cream. Reminds me of my childhood days back at Thirfty’s. My favorite combo is the oatmeal chocolate chip with the malt ice cream but I’ve also tried the cookie dough.
If you’re feeling brave, you can take them up on an interesting challenge and get your picture up on their wall of fame. How so? Just eat a 10″ cookie sandwich with 8 scoops of ice cream! So far a woman has not been able to conquer this so go for it women! If I visit again, I might attempt it. Who knows? For now I can rest assured that I’ll get a great dessert after a yummy meal at The Pasta Bar.

Look, if I can get a fresh cookie sandwich with two scoops of delicious ice cream for only $ 2, I’m giving it 5 stars. Really great atmosphere too. It’s next to the Spinella Pasta Bar, which is equally as awesome. I had the chocolate chip oatmeal cookie with mint chip ice cream — so good!

I first chanced upon the cookie mill on Unilocal on fri ¹⁰⁄₁ at about 10am. I ended up at the cookie mill also on fri ¹⁰⁄₁ at about 9pm. Food has a funny way of gently tugging at my heartstrings… or tummystrings.
At night, it was a little difficult to find. It’s actually conjoined with a pasta joint. The ice cream case had several flavors, all thrifty brand. YAY. I gravitated instantly towards spumoni. I have warm feelings about spumoni cause I used to get a heapload of this stuff free from spaghetti factory when a friend was working there.
The had a trayful of chocolate chip cookies, some double chocolate chip cookies and some snickerdoodles. Few minutes later, a tray of just fresh (or so I thought) oatmeal raisin, sugar and oatmeal choc chip were put out. Now my biggest concern about getting here so late was the freshness of the cookie. You can’t hide the staleness of a cookie, not even in chocolate malted krunch ice cream.
I opted for sugar cookie/​spumonix2/​oatmeal raisin and some caramel. We also got a chocolate chip/​vanilla/​mint chip/​chocolate chip. My biggest gripe is that the cookies just weren’t that great. They were hard almost a chore to eat. Luckily the ice cream was delish.
Not a comparable sub for diddy reese, even if it is only $ 2.

This place is great. Im not saying its better than diddy riese but its definitely an alternative. Considering its closer to my house with no long lines this place is worth a try.
I ordered the $ 2 ice cream sandwich with 2 chocolate chip cookies and coffee ice cream. It came with 2 scoops of ice cream which i could barely finish. The cookies were soft and the ice cream wasn’t too sweet. The whole thing tasted great and ill definitely be back. The only thing i dont like is the store hours. They open late and they close really early.

So I posted a review before for Cookie Mill that received a lot of negative feedback. A lot of Unilocalers thought «I had no taste buds» if I was trashing this place. I couldn’t believe after my bad experience what all the fuss was about so I decided to give them another shot.
I literally was eating my words. The cookie sandwich I had this time was very good, it was like eating at a whole new place. I was very satisfied!
For the record though, I talked to some of my friends who also went the first week it opened and they agreed that the cookies were ridiculously bad, but I’m happy to see this place stepped it’s game up.

My co-​worker and I went here after having a bowl of Phở next door. Brought in by the «famous $ 2 cookie sandwich», and that’s what I had. You can choose two different cookies, I chose chocolate chip for the bottom and oatmeal chocolate for the top. After that, you choose your filling, and they do put a big scoop of ice cream in between those cookies. The cookie sandwich was good, but not phenomenal. The price was great, $ 2 even, tax was included.
They also have a challenge here. Eat a monster ice cream sandwich under five minutes, and get it for free, or eat it under ten minutes and get your picture on the wall. The huge ice cream sandwich is $ 20 of two plate sized cookies with eight heaping scoops of ice cream in between.
There was a portly teenager out front who stopped and asked if I thought he could eat the sandwich within 10 minutes. This kid reminded me of myself in earlier years, so I answered him with an encouraging yes! I waited around with my co worker and the teenagers 12 friends to watch the gluttonous even take place. They brought out the monstrosity they called a cookie sandwich, ten minutes later, ice cream splattered on the walls and all over the teenager, the cookie was devoured. He earned his place on the wall. So my point is, try this place out. The ice cream sandwich here tastes good and is priced right, and if you’re lucky you might get a show.
