Captree Princess

I went on this boat with my fiancé who has never been on a party fishing boat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We caught a few keepers and had a really nice time.

Went on Captree Princess with my work crew today and we had the best time. Jared was so great and checked on us all day. Have gave me some fishing tips and I caught probably 10 sea robins and 2 fluke one was a keeper yay! Jared filleted my fluke for me. The whole team on the boat were amazing! This is a fishing trip we won’t forget.

Went on a fishing trip with my family in hopes of catching some to bring home to cook for dinner. Boat was clean and deck hands were very nice. I caught a rather large fish and the deck hand put it in water under my seat. He came around a little later to see if it won the pool. It did not, so I asked him to fillet it for me. He took it and never saw him again. When the trip was over we started asking everyone where the fish was, no one knew. We finally get the deck hand who took it and after looking around the boat he said, «Sorry guys, I gave it to someone else» That’s it ! Of course there is no adult working on the boat to talk to. I contacted the company for a refund, but have not heard back.

This is by far the worst boat I have ever been on. The mates drink and smoke in the cabin. One of the older mates were even hitting on my 17 year old daughter. I would never recommend this boat to anyone. I would recommend the Captain ROD, JIB VI, and the Fish Finder.

The worst fishing boat ever… we went out fishing with almost a ²⁄₃ rd full passengers on boat, all paid.. in the 7−11p trip on 8÷27÷14… of all those paying customers, only 1 person caught 1 tiny cocktail blue fish… soooo sad, we used plastic jigs… captain ran the engine scarring any fish away… stayed in the bay.
Caught nothing all night, he had fresh bait and wouldn’t give us any… mates all nice and of course they knew the deal… this boat and captain or owner is full of shit. .don’t waste your money or time… go some where else but not here… if I knew better I would not have gone… pretty sad… I’m suprised they even allow such bullshit to happen!!!

I went to captree princess with no knowledge of what to expect with my dad and son. My dad had not fished in years. I give them 2 thumbs up maybe 5. Boat was clean staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Definently will be back for porgies season. Thank you. …

Went fishing with my Wife the mates were great helped her with fishing (she even caught 4 keepers) I caught 3 (haha) the mates cleaned the fish and gave us one more
was a bit crowded for a Saturday but thats expected Definitely going back recommend them

I was going to go on the Laura Lee. As we where walking to the dock. The captain of the captree princess told us he was going out the same times as the LL, but was going out in the ocean instead. They didn’t mention that the cost of the trip was $ 23 more and that they would not return until 3pm. Untill we where well underway. To add insult to injury we didn’t get back untill almost 430pm. FYI, I caught NOTHING. And I am an experienced fishermen.

A friend gave us tickets for a morning 8am-​1pm fluke fishing trip. While we had a good time (because we tend to make our own fun) I was grateful we didn’t pay for this trip and would definitely not recommend this boat. These people are clearly there to run a business and really could not care any less about their customers. What really irked me the most was the way one of the crew members spoke to me. It was my first time fishing so he tended to talk down to me both because I am female and because I am a beginner. He insisted on constantly re-​rigging my rod and would not rig it the way I asked because it was quote «too advanced for me.» So much for the customer is always right. We had two crew members assisting, well more like hovering over us which made it feel like they were constantly competing for a tip from us which made the trip very uncomfortable and struck me as very inappropriate. Both crew members were constantly rigging my rod to their liking so each crew member kept undoing the other’s work. Needless to say my rod spent more time out of the water than in the water and I did not go home with any keepers. The boat is large and overcrowded and is really not worth the price they are asking. Wound up taking another fishing trip a few weeks later on the Northstar fleet and would highly recommend them. If you are thinking of taking a fishing trip definitely look into NORTHSTAR. They are way cheaper and treat you like family. DO NOT take the Princess! You will definitely regret it.

The Captree Princess is a fishing boat which leaves from Captree State Park. We went fluke fishing in the morning. I went with a group of people, and we did not have fun. Many of the crew members and some of the passengers were smoking cigarettes. The smoke clouds kept coming near us and at least half of the boat ride smelled like cigarette smoke. The boat seemed to stick very close to the shore and did not take us far out at all. Many times we actually stopped near the dock, and my group was left with the impression we should have just gone to the dock to fish for free. The trip was expensive. The boat was $ 45 a person. Using an online coupon from their website it becomes $ 42 per person. Parking is $ 8 during the summer. My group spent hundreds of dollars on this awful trip. In addition, no one caught anything we could keep, and I myself caught nothing at all.
The boat was too crowded. As a result, there wasn’t a lot of standing room, we were all packed together like sardines, and most importantly, all of our fishing lines kept getting caught on each other. My fishing line must have gotten caught on the people around me about six or more times throughout the trip. It was very frustrating, and it was clearly because everyone was so close together because the boat was overcrowded.
At least one of the crewmembers /​employees was particularly rude. He was fishing himself even though he worked there, and when one member of my group went to take a pole near our assigned fishing spot (fishing spots on the boat were assigned but not numbered), the rude crew member yelled in a nasty manner and said it was his personal fishing pole (not the boat’s) and we shouldn’t touch it. Of course, there was no way for us to know that. Apparently, our assigned pole was the one next to his personal fishing pole (the poles all looked similar to me). The employee was very nasty, and we had to fish next to him for most of the trip. Later, another crewmember asked us to move down towards the rude crewmember because there wasn’t enough room for the customers (the boat was crowded). Twenty minutes later the rude crewmember yelled at us again, saying we were too close to him and we needed to move away. When we explained that we had been asked by other employees to move towards him to make room for customers, he got angry, he didn’t care, he yelled more, and finally he left for another part of the ship to fish on (it was still pretty close to us though). In addition, this rude employee was also drinking (a minimum of two beers that I saw), smoking cigarettes, and cursing. He was using the «f» curse multiple times even though small children were nearby. In fact, numerous crewmembers were drinking as well.
Multiple crewmembers were fishing themselves. While some of them were nice, they all had much better fishing gear, poles (casting rods, etc), lures, different and better bait, etc. These crewmembers kept catching fish, but almost no one else on the overcrowded ship caught anything at all. I could count the number of customers who got to keep a fish on one hand, even though the boat had at least 50 customers on it (maybe 60). I found it strange that the crewmembers, with their much better fishing gear, bait, and lures were catching fish, and I thought it prevented other people from catching fish. My group actually overheard the crewmembers saying that the size and number of fish being caught by everyone on the boat was «pathetic.»
For $ 42 per person ($ 45 without a coupon), plus $ 8 per car to park, I would frankly like to be guaranteed some fish. We spent a lot of money for our group and caught nothing. Well I wouldn’t expect a refund, they could have offered to let us come again for free since we caught nothing (they did not offer this). They also could have at least cooked us some fish considering we spent so much money and caught nothing that we could keep. I just think that for spending hundreds of dollars, would should have gotten some fish. For $ 42 per person, I could have had a very nice meal at a seafood restaurant or could have bought numerous pounds of fish at a store.
One member of my group got locked in the bathroom. He was stuck in there for about 15 minutes. He finally was able to force the door open. He was banging on the door, but no one heard him. He didn’t have a cell phone to call anyone either.
Finally, after we docked at the end as we were leaving the ship, at least two crewmembers stood by the exit while holding a stack of cash in their hands. It was clear their presence was an attempt to pressure customers to tip them. They literally were waving cash around in case you didn’t realize what they wanted. It was very inappropriate, especially considering how expensive the trip was. We didn’t tip them because we had a horrible time.
We did not have fun. I would not recommend this boat.
