With the aid of our helpful and well trained staff we provide full scope eye care ranging from yearly eye exams to emergency services, developmental exams helping children do better in school, to concussion services. We have some of the latest technology for diagnosing diseases in order to ensure the best eyecare. Our optical shop has many styles and brands of frames and we would be happy to help you find the perfect pair for you.

History

Established in 1950.

Our business has been practicing in the area for over 50 years. We began as a small office simply providing glasses to correct people who are near-​sighted or far-​sighted. We were then the first to prescribe contact lenses in the area. Over time we began to specialize in the treatment of ocular disease including glaucoma, macular degeration, dry eye and many others. We have continued to expand our services and we now provide specialty eye exams for children who are struggling in school. Dr. Perry, our newest addition to the practice, began in June of 2008, graduating from James Madison University in 2004, and Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 2008 with honors and immediately joined the practice. A patient of the practice as a very young child, he has gone from hating his glasses, to loving them, to prescribing them for others. Before attending optometry school, he joined the practice and worked as a technician, doing ancillary testing on patients. He returns to the practice with particular interest in contact lenses and working with children. Certified to use both diagnostic and therapeutic pharmacological agents, Dr. Perry looks forward to a long career helping people see better. He enjoys swing dancing, travel, and grilling for family and friends.

I took my 5-​year old daughter to Dr. Perry. He did a great job at getting my shy daughter to feel comfortable prior to conducting the exam. He was very thorough in conducting her exam. She had a slight prescription, but Dr. Perry was very honest stating that he could not justify the expense of glasses at this point. He stated that people with such a minor prescription often don’t even wear the glasses. He advised to bring her back in if there were issues at school.

Hat’s off to Chris Renner, O.D. He diagnosed a young lady with a retinal detachment. Timely referral saved her sight… The patient was completely unaware she had a problem, but «Chris» was diligent and thorough.
Have been working with this quality group for years. Just another example of the excellence of this group.
BTW — retinal detachments often cause blindness.

I LOVE Dr. Perry. My husband was in need of a new optometrist and so I hopped onto Angie’s list and found Dr. Perry with great reviews.
My husband loved his website — filled with really funny photos of dogs with glasses, and the doctors all doing silly stunts instead of profile shots. We like to work with people who are great at their trade but who don’t take themselves too seriously. Dr. Perry was that.
Before I saw him I’d been getting headaches, and he let me know it was just because I needed glasses. Headaches are now gone, and we have a loving new service provider to take care of our needs.

Dr. Renner is fantastic. Both my husband and I see him; I wouldn’t see anyone else. He’s personable, extremely knowledgeable and never makes you feel rushed. The office located in an cluster of offices, but easy to find; right off of Columbia Pike. If you are looking for a patient, knowledgeable optometrist, Dr. Renner is your doctor.

I found Dodge Perry via Angies list and here on Unilocal about a month or so ago. I made an appointment to see Dr. Perry and it was the most thorough and easy eye doctor experience I have ever had.
When I arrived they took me to a room with all sorts of eye testing gear I had never seen before. A technician checked several things and was very professional and quick. I was then taken to meet Dr. Perry.
He is a very personable and nice guy to be around. We talked mostly about my eyes and my needs. When he would ask me to select this setting or that, he had a great technique by asking «1 or 2, 3 or 4» it kept me more focused than «1 or 2, 1 or 2»
And he was super speedy in finding the correct setting and his advice was perfect. Really liked him and look forward to him as my new eye doctor. I was in and out quicker than just about any other first Dr. appointment I had and I really enjoy the prescription he gave me.
They had plenty of contact lenses to try as samples.
The only difficulty was when I went to purchase my yearly supply of contact lenses from their office. I spoke to one of the people there and he gave me a quote. I approved the order and was told they would be shipped to me. They were shipped to the doctors office so I had to go pick them up. When I did the price did not include the rebate and some discount.
When I asked the young man about it, he gave me the rebate form, which was fine and when I got home and read the form I realized I need a copy of my original visit. He also said he would email me a copy of the receipt, did not happen.
I called today and spoke to the receptionist who said she would email it to me (this is 5 days after my pick up) and that did not happen. I called again and Rob the office manager got me what I needed. I would like to give a 5 and would have if this business process was smoother.
I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dodge Perry and I can say with confidence his support team is good, they just need a bit more process so there is better flow.

Selfishly, I am sometimes reluctant to submit five-​star reviews – the more rave reviews a restaurant, doctor, dentist, etc. gets, the harder it becomes to get in, right? But I wouldn’t want to deny anyone the chance to be cared for by this establishment.
My husband and I have been going to Dr. Renner for years. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and commonsensical – he asks the right questions so that he can better advise you. The staff are competent, friendly, and endlessly patient as one tries on pair after pair of glasses frames. And I don’t mind spending a few minutes watching the fish in the aquarium while I wait for my eyes to dilate.

If I could give 4 ½ stars, that would be more suitable. The only issue is I had to wait 30 – 40 minutes to see the doctor as she was running behind, but I wasn’t informed of it until the doctor told me.
Other than that, my experience was excellent. Dr. Rinearson herself, was fantastic. I hadn’t seen Dr. Rinearson in 15 years but they were able to piece some of my exam from my mother’s records (she also goes here). Dr. Rinearson is quite knowledgeable, funny, thorough and easy to talk to. The exam was painless and comprehensive. She was was able to tell me about my driving and reading habits from the results of my exam. So glad I went back to her.

Dr. Rinearson is fantastic. Not only do I get excellent care, but I feel like I am visiting an old friend. I found her because my son (when he was in the fourth grade) needed to be examined. She did a great job and explained to him exactly what was happening. When I got old enough that my eyes started going, I did not even consider going to anyone else. Later, when I developed drusen, she diagnosed me quickly and sent me to follow up care. She threatened to come get me and take me to my appointment if I didn’t show for it. She knows my personality well — I might not have gone.

I have never had such a complete examination or such a thorough and informative visit. Dr Rinearson spent almost an hour with me. She explained everything about what was going on with my vision and inside my eye. And I left with a complete, customized written explanation of my condition. It was quite remarkable.

Exceptional service all around. We have had nothing but positive experiences with both Dr. Renner and Dr. Perry. Our family has used the services for 5 – 6 years. The exam is very detailed and comprehensive. They have been instrumental in helping my daughter develop depth perception and hemispheric inattentiveness from her congenital alternating a. She now is able to play team sports requiring fine hand eye coordination and tracking-​skills I questioned if she would be able to develop. She also is excelling in a sewing class and reads above her grade level.
I have sent several acquaintances to this office for evaluation to help iron out dyslexic issues as well as reasons for non-​pathologic childhood headaches, as well as resistance and frustration with reading.
There is also an in house optician that will assist you in selecting appropriate frames for your prescription and its intended purposes. The frame are pricey but but no more so than the high end brands of LC.
Without reservation I can recommend the services of Rinearson, Renner, Warren, Perry, and am truly grateful for their expertise and professionalism.

Our recent visit to Dr. Renner was excellent as always. Our family has gone to Dr. Rinearson andDr. Renner for decades. Dr. Renner once saw me in an emergency on a Saturday morning. He is caring and concerned; he remembers our eyes from visit to visit. The office staff is also excellent: Efficient and attentive. This is the best eye office in northern Virginia.

I just saw Dr. Rinearson again for my annual and I felt urged to write another review because it is so rare to find a doctor like her anymore. She is always happy with a wonderful bedside manner. She is more thorough than any other eye doctor I’ve seen and she even explains what she’s doing and why each step of the way. On too of that she does her best to save you money and knows the ins and outs of dealing with insurance in detail. She’s straightforward without any hype. After I was fitted incorrectedly with contacts, as well as told that I had some eye issue that I in fact do not have, by two other doctors, I appreciate her even more. Love Dr. Rinearson.

My husband and I had to get our eyeballs checked, so we made an appointment with Dr. Renner — based on his high reviews, I had extremely high expectations. Checking in was a breeze, and as a new patient, there wasn’t much paperwork to fill out. The waiting area was an open space, with random magazines to read and a little area for little kids to play. There are different counters to check-​in and to check-​out, so that was interesting (kind of confusing at first, but you’ll understand the layout). Dr. Renner was hilarious, extremely thorough, and very informative. The man knew what he was talking about. I’m such a picky snot when it comes to docs, and Dr. Renner totally exceeded my expectations! The office is located off of Columbia Pike, but you’d have to loop around to the back in the professional buildings plaza. There are plenty of spaces for your cars, but be weary of the people who zip around.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Renner here for years now, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.
I’m only 23 and have had funky eye problems (weird optic nerve, terrible vision) since I was 8 years old. Dr. Renner never makes me feel rushed, always takes his time and explains everything to me. He also will take questions over the phone, and makes sure I am 100% satisfied with contact lenses before leaving.
I also never have to wait more than a few minutes to be seen.
I wish all doctors gave this type of personalized, detail-​orientated attention to their patients!

When I first moved to Falls Church, I did a random Google search to try and find a new optometrist within relatively easy driving distance of my house. Luckily, I happened upon Drs. Rinearson, Renner, Warren & Perry — and I’m so glad I did!
Both my husband and I have been going to Dr. Warren for over a year now and are 100% satisfied with the customer service we have received. Dr. Warren is professional, yet personable; he asks lots of questions and makes it a point to explain everything he’s doing/​prescribing/​recommending with regard to your eyes.
This practice is also great about follow-​up and making sure you are taken care of. The one time I had to come back for a follow-​up appointment and Dr. Warren wasn’t able to see me because he was out of town, I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Perry, who had access to all of my history/​paperwork and was just as thorough as Dr. Warren.
Additionally, the front desk staff is friendly and welcoming, wait times are usually less than 5−10minutes, and so far we haven’t had any issues scheduling an appointment.
For anyone in the area looking for an experienced and knowledgeable optometrist, I’d highly recommend Dr. Warren and this practice.
