PFC is an Early Childhood Development Center and family services organization. We offer premium child-​care and preschool programs for 6 weeks to 6 years old in the heart of Winslow on Bainbridge Island. Additionally, we serve as an information and referral hub for family support services ranging from pre-​natal, birth, post-​partum and early childhood development. Peacock is «A Community of Care Under one Roof».

History

Established in 2012.

Peacock Family Center was founded in 2009 by a group of active family services professionals including pediatricians, family counselors, mid-​wifes, parents, and professionals who saw need on Bainbridge Island for something different.

The goal was to create an Early Childhood development center where programs embodied the highest level of learning and care based in the latest in development research and education but that also offered extended and full-​day options to meet the needs of working families. Including the concept of attachment based care for the youngest pea-​chicks and a top-​notice pre-​school and pre-​k program for the older students is at the heart of the C. Keith Birkenfeld Early Childhood Development Center.

In conjunction with the Early Childhood Programs, Peacock’s founders envisioned a center where family services and support lived under the same roof, providing holistic support for enrolled families and a much need «HUB» for family services for the greater Bainbridge
