Fur and Feathers Luxury Pet Resort

I’ve only used Fur & Feathers for their daycare, but I love that my doggies come back from here TIRED! The location is easy to get to if you are traveling from the northeast to the southwest or vice versa. They have good customer service and they are very flexible in that they will call your vet for updated information if necessary. There is a small dog play area, a large dog play area, and «kennels» that your dogs can hang out at if they’re done running around.
Honestly, I don’t 100% trust them with my dogs. I know safety is their number one priority for the dogs, but at the same time it seems like they misread dogs’ body language/​behavior leading them to correct or quarantine them unnecessarily. For instance, one of my three dogs is more of a «people» dog rather than a «dog» dog, but I still take her to the dog park so she can wander around freely, read & leave pee-​mail, & interact with other dogs if she wants to. There have been times when she has «snapped» at other dogs who were bugging her, but she has never made physical contact with a dog she didn’t know. Anyway, one time I came to pick her up and they told me they had to quarantine her because she was «being aggressive». When I asked more about it, she had done one of these protective «snaps» because a dog was bugging her and they deemed her «too aggressive» to interact with other dogs.
We haven’t needed to go back since, simply because we had family move into town that watch our dogs when necessary.

Absolutely love this place! They treat my pet like family and are very attentive to his needs. The staff have been very patient and make it a point to pay attention to detail. I appreciate that they review my pet’s feeding instructions every time. I have never had a problem with booking (even a day or so before hand), and they have always called the week before to confirm the dates of his stay. Although it is sad to leave my pet for a couple days, I can say I feel completely confident that he will be cared for with love by the staff.

If my Brocco could type he would only be typing GREAT things about this place. The staff is amazing! I have a semi set schedule wherein Brocco goes to daycare twice a week, their frequent user card comes in handy; after 10 visits you get one free. Love their program and I think that I am a better pet owner by using their service than if I just left my Brocco home all day while we are at work. They have full day or half day options. When I have to use the overnight services I feel better knowing he is staying at a familiar place to him. So it is like home away from home. I am grateful for how they treat, interact, and love my Brocco… because you know pets are like our children. We only want was best for them!

Typically we have minimal issues with either of the two Fur and Feathers locations. However yesterday was the third time we had picked up our dogs and one of them wasn’t groomed after making an appointment for it. This has now happened once at this location and twice at the Allen one. Once was no big deal, twice was annoying, but three times? Really?
Yesterday, at the downtown location, they were apologetic after realizing they had made the mistake. They said it was on their board but they just forgot. They said I could bring her in the next day. That would be fine but the whole purpose was the convenience of picking her up and her already being groomed. I’ll pay their higher grooming costs if it’s convenient. Coming in the next day isn’t convenient so I’ll go somewhere cheaper.
Overall though, Fur and Feathers is a good place to board your dogs. It’s clean and their staff is friendly. I never have to worry about my dogs while I’m away. The prices are high but it’s worth the peace of mind. I guess I’ll just have to start calling and reminding them on my vacation about the grooming. Not sure what else to do.

Yay! It’s Fur and Feathers II — Downtown Edition! Actually, it’s still called Fur and Feathers, but you get the idea.
After the huge success of their Allen Road location, they opened a second store downtown by Mill Creek Park. This is great, even if you don’t choose to use this location because it frees up spaces at Allen Road. The same great service found at the original location is also here, as some of the employees float from store to store.
I’m not certain on the grooming schedules, or even if it is offered here. But I will certainly look into this. I’m just excited I won’t have to call ahead months in advance to book the pups. More often than not we have to book their rooms before ours, just to make sure they’re covered.
So glad F&F is doing well. Love it when local people and their businesses are a success! Definitely consider either Fur & Feathers locations the next time you’re looking to board your pet.
Don’t forget that your pooch must be properly vaccinated before staying. That includes:
*Bordatella (Kennel Cough) every 6 months
*DHLPP every year or as recommended by your veterinarian
*Rabies-​Must be given every 3 years
