History

Established in 1972.

Thank you Kern County for allowing us to serve our community for over 43 years with three generations of the Hansen Family. We are extremely proud of our history and very excited about the future. Over the past four decades we have gained valuable experience in residential and commercial moving, allowing us to become the premier moving company for any size move.

Recently we have made many exciting changes within our organization. We are committed to YOU, our customers, and your satisfaction is of utmost importance. Hansen’s moving and storage is affordable and amazing! They moved my furniture, electronics and personal belongings from on place to another extremely fast. And nothing was damaged. Will defiantly use them again for my next move. Thanks Hansen’s!

This is the 2nd move that I have made with Hansen’s and I couldn’t be happier with their service. I actually waited a couple of extra days because my first move was so good. (I called to schedule last minute and they got me within a week) I didn’t think it could get better but today was exceptional. Jose and Andre showed up right on time and quickly got to work. I was quoted 6 hours for the entire move. Jose and Andre did it in 4 hours. They were careful with my belongings yet worked with a sense of urgency. My move ended up costing $ 200 LESS than my original quote. As a retail Store Manager I appreciate the level of customer service Hansen’s provided and would highly recommend using this company.

Our family has always used Hansen’s for moving because they always provide excellent service. We recently used them to move my 85 year old mother out of her home and they again showed courtesy and kindness to my mom who was having a difficult time with the move. When the rest of her items had to be put in storage Jesse & Gabriel were extremely helpful making sure all the furniture was protected for a long storage period. Again exceptional service by a local company!

It was our experience. The estimate from the owner for our move was off about ($ 2000.) We felt he did not listen to us or just didn’t care. He was in a very big hurry when he came by for the estimate. We told him what our plans were and felt he should have explained all charges that would be incurred. Also, he charges for clerical help ($ 10.) when he sends out his bill. The driver and his helper were very good. Would not recommend as estimate was too far off and clerical help was indifferent. Possibly they are relying on past reputation, but we do not feel we received the best service.

Today was our third move using Hansen’s and they did a fantastic job again. Reserving was a breeze, no extra charge for a credit card. Two men and a truck and they had my 1600 sqft house packed and unpacked in less than five hours. The gentlemen were conscientious and personable. They took good care with our belongings and put up with our interesting personalities. Moving is stressful.

I recently moved my 1400sqft 3rd floor apartment into my new house, a move which I knew was going to be insanely difficult especially given the weather in July. I shopped around a few different options but ultimately settled on Hansen’s. I must say that after this experience I’ll never attempt to move myself nor will I recommend any other moving company to anyone else. Hansen’s made my move a MUCH less stressful experience than moving tends to be, they were punctual, there was no wasted time trying to drag out a move to bill more hours as I had seen my friends go through with other companies, they took EXCELLENTLY care of all my furniture as well as my artwork and even boxed up all my pillows and lamps and hanging clothes.
I don’t typically write Unilocal reviews unless something is REALLY good or REALLY bad, and this was a no brained. Thank you Hansen’s!

Not only did they help me move on multiple occasions, They had superior customer service, very reasonable pricing and their guys did a tremendous jobs of moving our stuff with care. I used Hansen’s for a few different commercial moves in 2014. I found them to be trustworthy, timely and honest.
Only criticism: I would like to see the job estimate provided electronically vs. in paper. Other than that, I would not really change anything.

Hired to move a wine refrigerator. Went ABCD (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) with protection of refrigeration unit and bottles. Service and timeliness also met expectations. I would highly recommend.

You are not correct. The owner said that the boxed items in the garage would not have much effect on the price. The tool box was heavy but not $ 1300 heavy. As for the owner helping move items, that was the job of Hanson’s employees, not mine. I could not address the cost of the move at the time items were being loaded, there was nothing to indicate it would be different, or much more, than the estimate. No one ever indicated that the cost was going to significantly change. I have no doubt that you will disagree but that is your job. ANY significant change in the estimate should have been discussed with me at the time of the move, especially since the company owner was present, NOT a surprise the day before the move.

I had a very awkward move, from a 2200 sq ft home in Bakersfield to a 1000 sq ft cottage at the beach. The men who packed everything were totally professional. The men who picked up the load were prompt and courteous.
Because the cottage was not available when I had to be out of my original house, Hansen’s had to store everything for a month. When everything finally arrived at the beach, some went into the house and some went to a storage facility. The driver and helpers worked quickly and carefully. Not one thing was broken and only one piece of furniture had a tiny ding in it.
The final bill was less than the estimate. They even made special accommodations to move a chest freezer that was fully loaded. I can recommend Hansen’s without hesitation.

DON’T USE THIS COMPANY!!! I hired them to move my furniture across town. Apparently, they didn’t know I was behind them. I followed them as they pulled into a gas station & ate lunch, 3 min. after leaving my home. I tapped on their window & asked what they were doing. They stated everyone deserved a lunch hour. When they finally got back on the road & delivered my furniture, they charged me for the time in the gas station. I complained & they started to confiscate my furniture. They said if I wanted the furniture, I’d pay the bill. I had no choice. They should be run out of town.
