When you’re used to patronizing THE original Jamba Juice and others on the Central Coast where they’re still owned and operated by some of the original creators of Jamba Juice, your expectations of Jamba Juice are very high. You see, the original creators take pride in customer service, product delivery, and quality control. However, now, most Jamba Juice stores are owned by franchisees and ran corporately. When a corporate office and franchisees come into play, standards go waaay down! That was my experience at this Valley Place location. Standards have gone down. We waited in line to order. Not too long, so it wasn’t bad at all. We were having a smoothie as a dessert, so I ordered an Orange Dream Machine. I had one special request. Please substitute orange juice with fresh squeezed orange juice. By the way, you can do this substitution free of charge, but dare you?! Unfortunately, the cashier didn’t get it. I saw him eliminating several items in my smoothie that I didn’t request. I kindly told him I didn’t want those items removed and just wanted the fresh squeezed orange juice substituted. He said ok. He didn’t fix the mistake. I told him again and he supposedly fixed it. When I got my smoothie, it wasn’t fixed. $ 5 down the drain! There are other locations in our area, so I think I’ll stick to those locations. This was a huge disappointment. I wanted dessert and I pretty much got frozen orange juice because they took out the frozen yogurt and soy milk. That’s the part of the smoothie that makes it a dessert!

I’ve been to this Jamba Juice, at the entrance to the Oasis Food Court at Valley Plaza plenty of times. It’s a nice refreshing place to stop for a little sustenance to keep me going on a marathon shopping trip. My usual go to drink is the all fruit smoothie Mega Mango which consists of strawberries, mangoes, and exotic fruit juices or the Berry UpBEET smoothie made with beets, mixed berry juice, strawberries, blueberries, and mangoes. Today I decided to try one of their seasonal offerings, the Pumpkin Smash. It wasn’t bad, but it just couldn’t hold a candle to my two favorites. I guess there’s nothing wrong with playing it safe and going for your old favorites. Even when the line seems long they really keep it moving quickly and deliver our drinks spit-spot. My only complaint is that they let their floor get messy with paper straw and napkin trash which just isn’t appealing, Other than that, they are right on track to deliver a great product.
