History

Established in 2010.

Bakersfield was in need of a better model for divorcing couples. That model is collaborative family law.

In 2006 a group of family law attorneys, a financial advisor and mediators teamed up to form a non-​profit corporation.

July 1, 2012 KCFLS opened the doors inside the Mediation Affiliates office in Bakersfield, CA.

Now KCFLS helps divorcing families through their difficult time with a kinder and gentler process for their divorce.

Shannon, who entered the financial services industry in 2003 with Morgan Stanley, joined UBS in 2008 and then decided to venture off on his own in 2012. Shannon formed the Kern Financial Group, LLC and moved his office inside the new Mediation Affiliates, Inc.

He specializes in Life Transitions: Marriage, Divorce, Retirement, and Loss of a Loved One (before-​during-​after).

Shannon is the co-​founder and current Treasurer for Kern Collaborative Family Law Solutions, Inc., KCFLS. He is also the co-​founder and current Vice-​President for Mediation Affiliates, Inc. KCFLS and Mediation Affiliates provide the community with a positive alternative to divorce litigation, civil litigation or probate litigation… without stepping into court.
