Rudy’s Air Conditioning & Heating

Just an update to my last review. The unit either still had a leak, or developed a new leak and Rudy came out for free and fixed it.
Now that’s what I call service!

Called Rudy’s on Wednesday 7÷29÷2015 to come out and see why our A/​C fan is not turning (108 degrees) The woman on the phone says «We will be there between 2pm-​7pm» Cool, I get out of work at 1 and rush home. I’m sitting at home with all 3 of our kids huddled in the living room with all of our fans pointed to us, waiting… 6PM comes around and I call Rudy’s to verify that someone is definitely still coming. Rudy’s «After Hours Answering Service» answer’s and takes down all of my information, says that she will pass my information to them and hangs up. I call back at 7PM when no one had arrived and asked the operator if she was the after hours answering service, she says yes, I ask if she was able to speak with anyone from the company, she says that she will page Rudy again and give them the message. I tell her it doesn’t matter what time he comes as long as he comes, it’s an emergency, we are miserable. She say’s, I’ll pass it on to Rudy. No call’s back, no one shows I’m taking my hard earned cash to Hawley Air, I don’t pay people to lie to me or waste my time. I could have taken my kids somewhere else that night if no body was going to show up. VERY RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL, IT’S NOT THAT HARD TO PICK UP THE PHONE AND TELL SOMEONE TO STOP WAITING FOR YOU CAUSE YOUR NOT GOING TO SHOW UP

11 AM 7÷30÷2015 I received a call from the office woman who took my call yesterday. She apologized that he never passed the message on to Rudy, she had an emergency with her son at day care, which I totally understand, things come up with kids and it throws you for a loop. But never offered to come back out, discount, anything… I politely accepted her apology and said how much I appreciated her owning up to it (which is why I’m giving them one more star) But because of the lack of making it right the review remains to be my experience in its totality.

They made it right! Offered me a free heater or a/​c service whenever I’m ready to use it. Rudy apparently takes his reputation very serious, and I appreciate that :)

I contacted this company last minute because my warranty wouldn’t cover my issues and first off he arrived same day! Secondly he was quick and reasonably priced. It’s been a full 24 hours and my AC is working! I will def continue using in the future and recommend.

I’ve personally used Rudy’s air on multiple occasions for both new installs as well as repairs.
Rudy’s is extremely easy to deal with, will give you a price right up front and they jump on the work and get it done it a very timely fashion.
I’ve had nothing but good experiences with him and his crew. I would highly recommend!

We got a bids for 2 heavy duty A/​C units, and with a fair bid from Rudy, we gave the OK. The installation went without a hiccup. On schedule as quoted and was so pleased with service and professionalism, that I had their team go to my office. And we set up a bi-​annual heating and A/​C maintenance agreement for our 5 units. Could not be happier. Also, this last summer was a hot one, and Rudy came within 2 hours of calling to adjust our freon, it worked and enjoyed a cool summer indoors.

If I could, I’d give zero stars. Set up the appt for yesterday, they gave me a 2 – 5 window, no one showed up. So they came today to make up for it.
Absolutely horrible. Two guys knock on the door, tell them to meet me in the garage. They look at heating unit, and for some reason remove the AC vent as well. They look at it for 5 mins, go back to there van, come back and tell me 550. Last year I got a quote for 300. So then he tells me call that guy rudely.
So I just tell the guys no thanks, and it’s a $ 45 dollar diagnostic fee, fine I give him a hundred. He gives me 50, and asks that I cut him some slack. Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. So he goes to the van and gets the 5. But the fact that he asked for the $ 5 dollar slack is unprofessional.
No receipt or anything given. $ 45 bucks down the drain.
My advice: go elsewhere.

Contacted Rudy’s AC & Heating after first calling another AC/​Heating guy listed here on Unilocal and getting no call back. First to give kudos for prompt return call after leaving message with his Answering Service. It was a little after 8:00 pm on Monday night (12−29−14) when I called expecting to just leave a message on a voicemail. Instead a live person answered who took my message and assured me I would get a return call no later than early the next morning. Within 15 minutes Rudy himself called me back. I ran down the problem I was having with my furnace and he said he would show up by noon the next day to look at it. He arrived on time just as he said he would. After spending about 30 – 40 minutes in my attic where my furnace is located he came back down and told me the problem was a switch that just needed to be reset. All other components and switches were found to be in good working order. I paid him his very fair service fee of $ 45 and he went on his way. My furnace/​heater so far continues to run without issue so I am a very satisfied customer.
I found Rudy to be very professional and attentive to the service he provides. As an example when he and one of his workers came down from my attic they tracked loose insulation that had clung to their clothes. Without any prompting from me another one of his workers quickly used a hand brush and dust pan to sweep it all up… good job.
As an added note when researching this business before I called them I discovered he is only one of a very few AC/​Heating guys who is a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and has an A+ rating. I will most definitely use Rudy’s business in the future should the need arise and will recommend him to others.

We called Rudy’s today after reading such great Unilocal reviews. We needed same-​day service for our heaters and no one that we’d worked with before could help, so we reached out to Rudy’s and he came over within the hour! He was super fast and efficient and we’ll definitely keep his number for next time. What a great find! Thank you, Rudy and company.

Rudy Himself showed up as promised after 2p same day service.
Thank goodness, because yikes 100+ degrees in Bakersfield all this week.
My AC needed a dual capacitor replacement they also serviced my AC.
The job was done very quickly. and I have a cool house and a happy family. :)
Based on my passed experiences I would only suggest this man for the job, and at a great price, no one in town compares!

I only knock a star off because I called in the morning, was told a technician would promptly call me back, but I had to call them at 4:45pm to enquire why I received no call back.
BUT Mr. Rudy redeemed himself with quick, friendly, efficient service (he found my AC unit’s only issue was a bad wire to be replaced) and his very fair pricing– $ 125 ($ 45 of that was the service call fee)
Awesome in comparison to All Climate inc. who I had called first, and were going to charge me $ 100 JUST for the service call!!! Glad I didn’t let the heat trick me into not getting a second quote!!! :)

AMAZING! Our air conditioner died and after getting several bids, Rudy’s was recommended by a co-​worker. His price was half of what 1-​Hour Air wanted. He bid the job Friday and everything was installed Saturday. By chance we needed more coolant in the AC after installation and he came back the same day to fix it. Even fixed a small gas leak on the roof that four other larger companies managed to miss. He’s honest and does great work.
