Self Serve Pet Spa

The employees are always sweet and helpful! Today I decided to shave my dog before washing her. It was the first time I’ve done this at the spa. Heather was very sweet, professional and attentive! Thanks you for another great experience! I’ll be back in a month!

I’m just going to be bold and say it: this is by far my favorite business in town… er, actually in Kern County. Self Serve Pet Spa (both locations) has such a convenient and clean set up for me to take my own dog, clients dogs and rescues to get bathed. I also purchase my dog’s food, treats & toys there. However, my favorite thing about Self Serve Pet Spa is the customer service! I appreciate the owners so much. David & Amy are genuine folks, very helpful & knowledgable in their products and they have the biggest hearts for animals!

Simple and straightforward as it gets. Reasonable prices with plenty of options for add-​ons.

First pet wash for the new year. Found this place online and was not disappointed! I took my 2 year old Sheltie Lukin for a bath and came out with treats in tow. I did the self wash station for a $ 15 wash and dry, but since my pups a long hair I purchased a great detangling conditioner for $ 2. Total wash was $ 17. I can’t imagine my luck with customer service provided by Emma. She warmly greeted us at the counter and let us see the menu. Then walked us over to the wash stations. The stations are super clean, come ready with towels, air dryer, apron for the human, and she brought over the shampoo, conditioner, eye drops, ear solution on cotton balls, a wash brush, a hair brush, and various air dryer attachments, and a face cloth for the pup. I was in and out within a hour and a half and was very impressed with the facility and the variety of dog and cat food. Emma was very kind and generous with Lukin and I that she even offered us samples of dog and cat food after our brief discussion. I will definitely come back and will be happy to recommend this place to family and friends!

My review for both locations holds true, so it’s pasted below. But first, a couple things to know about the White Lane location:
We find this spot to usually be a bit less busy. It’s a bigger location with a lot more room around the tubs. If you’ve got a really big dog, it may be preferable to bathe them here. Both locations work, but this one has a lot more space getting in and out of the tubs — something that may be helpful with large or clumsy animals (or those that prefer a bit more space when around other dogs).

We adore Self Serve Pet Spa!
For those new to this set-​up, Self Serve is just that: self serve! Bring your dog on a leash and they’ll provide the rest! Best part: you take home a clean dog and they clean the tub!
Depending on your wash package, you are provided a basket of items to get Fido fluffy and clean. The standard «Buster» wash ($ 14) includes shampoo, eye drops to protect your dog’s eyes, cotton balls with ear cleaning solution on them, a washcloth, and brush to scrub. Aprons and towels are provided as well, and dryers are hooked up at each station. Dogs are separated with high walls to prevent any interaction between dogs during washes. NO lifting is required — a ramp is given to get the dogs safely in and out of tubs, and restraints are in all tubs to prevent escapees or injuries. (Your dog prefer to keep to him or herself? No problem — they offer special hours for dogs that don’t always mind their manners around other dogs.) They do offer a rewards program for frequent customers.
Grooming tables are also available, and clippers can be rented at a reasonable rate. We also bring in our dog for nail trims, offered on the third weekend of the month. The woman who clips the dog’s nails is gentle and has never hit a quick on our dog. Once we used her for nail trims, we decided to never again visit anywhere else. She is the only person who can clip our dog’s nails without our dog becoming agitated or nervous.
Self Serve also has a great selection of high quality pet foods and treats, as well as fun toys, grooming accessories, and other pet gear. Our dog’s favorites are the little biscuits served in the case at the front counter and the duck feet!
We have found both locations to be kept clean, organized, and run by friendly and helpful staff that loves our pets just as much as we do.

Our first time to the spa with our Poppy. We were really pleased with our visit. The tubs are nice and high, so the mama’s and the papa’s aren’t breaking their backs. They provide every thing you need. The employee, Melissa was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We chose the Molly package for our Poppy. It included two towels, wash cloth for her face, shampoo, conditioner, brush, blow dry, and a shedding brush. Her spa was completed with a nice smelling spritz. Another perk is the staff cleans up the bath area.
Melissa then shared with us about the dog foods they carry. We currently feed her Canidae but Poppy is not a fan of the taste. Melissa suggested some brands and offered free samples for the ones that I was interested in. We also purchased some treats to conclude Poppy’s day at the spa. My hubby and I are extremely pleased with the service and pricing. Thank You!

You might think it odd to pay to wash your own dog, but this is so much better than breaking my back leaning over a bathtub at home. The tubs here are elevated, and they are equipped with warm-​water sprayers. The wash comes with shampoo, ear and eye treatment, and various attachments for the drier hose, for either long or short haired dogs. You can also get special shampoos like Tea Tree for skin sensitive pups. We brought three dogs, three of us, in and out in 25 minutes. Clean dogs, happy family!
I especially appreciate that these are really dog people. They only stock dog foods without all the corn & garbage dogs should never eat. They welcome my dogs every time we come here. They ENJOY the business and provide super customer service! We’ll be back!

I took my puppy to this spa and we both enjoyed it very much. It was my first time here so I didn’t know which service would be the best for my dog. One of the employees (Kayla) kindly recommended the Haley’s spa package ($ 20). The products used in this service all smelled really good! I highly recommend this spa the service is great as well as the products. My puppy smells delicious :)

Do you love your dog, but not his doggy odor? Spend some quality time giving him or her a lovely spa bath at the Self Serve Pet Spa. Owners David and Amy provide a loving environment for your pet. My dogs Bailey and Twiggy run right up into the tub because they love being treated to this one on one time. They even get a blueberry facial! The store also has quality toys, food and collars for your best friend. I hope they open a new store closer to my home, but they’re worth the drive!
