MINI of the Main Line

Great shopping experience. Great service experience so far (on warranty)!

I am extremely dissappointed in MINI of the Main LIne. I have brought my car to get serviced there since I purchased my car 5 years ago. Once my warranity went up my service bills went threw the roof. I got into an accident a couple months ago and after it was completed by the autobody place i felt like the alignment was off. I went to Mini becuase I thought they would know best. My bill came to 800 dollars becuase there were all these other issues. And it was more than 800 but somehow they were able to bring the bill down.
Today I went for my car inspection. A quick inspection turned into a nightmare. They said I need all new tires but they are fine to pass inspection. And I needed breaks, pad, etc. With all of these fixes it came to 2,046. I said I don’t want the tires. My 96 dollar inspection turned into 1,093 dollars.
I think it is a disgrace to rip people off and I honestly believe that 1,093 for an inspection is crazy.
I will never go back to this place ever again. I cannot believe they feel good about themsleves ripping poor American’s off.
***I would like to add that after my car was complete yesterday they test drove my car and said my engine light went out. They said it was some cover that would cost an additional 800 dollars. I asked if I could go somewhere else and I was told my car would not pass inspection if this was not completed. Feeling trapped I said get it done. I also said that I wanted all parts to be saved so I could bring somewhere. I find it odd that the trash person came in the afternoon and emptied all trash.
I went to minin for service becuase I thought these people were trustworthy and it saddens me because I feel like I was being fooled the whole time. The whole service center is a scam.

I had recently purchased a 2012 MINI from another dealer and a service light came on. Set an appointment with Main Line and it was great. Ryan even helped me with pairing my phone on the Bluetooth.
Nice waiting room, clean and had plenty of room to work (I was on the clock) and I was in and out of there. Even got a car wash. This is what I want from a service experience.

Okay 5 stars. Geez, stop nagging me.

Ryan Wheet in the Service Department was amazing –extremely pleasant and attentive to everyone despite waiting area being full. Definitely recommend.

My girlfriend purchased a CPO mini cooper here about a month ago. It was amazing leaving the lot and spending less than $ 20k on a mini with heated leather seats, in great condition, and not even a ¼ of the way through its life. Did I mention that it’s scary fast?
The salesman (Jared) was very patient and did not pressure us.
We’ve been in twice since then: once to correct a finicky tire pressure monitoring system (which is now solid), and once due to a nasty pothole on Girard ave that bent a rim.
This place is just as focused on its existing customers as it is on making a new sale.

Ugh, this place is the worst. The buying experience was awesome, but after that my experience has been really bad. I love my mini, but when it comes to servicing my love ends, and the stress level goes through the roof. Always being challenged on calls about issues, wait times are horrific, just generally terrible customer service! I also have a VW, and I have had no issues, and for standard maintenance they have me in and out in under an hour. Mini has too much competition to have this kind of service experience happening at their facilities, and as you can see in the other reviews, I’m not the only one. Mini of the Mainline — you need to step your game up or you will continue to lose customers in this highly competitive business. You already lost me as a future customer… And so has BMW.

My review is strictly in regards to my positive car shopping experience at this locstion today. I’m still deciding on which car to select and work out the details but I am hoping and praying we can work something out. After a week of shopping in NYC dealing with the horrible service at Manhattan FIAT, the feeling of being rushed or forced at Honda, I was ready to give up on dealers and buy from a private seller.
Upon walking in, I was greeted with a smile and all I had to do was tell them what my budget was and my needed in a car and they gave me exactly that! I was able to test drive, given the carfax and car history. There was NO PRESSURE at all and I can appreciate that!
Since I live in NYC they are willing to work out the details with me Monday over the phone and if all goes well, I will be back next week to pick up my car!

Update as of February 6^th, 2014.
I had to bring my car here after hitting a big pothole on I-​95. Fortunately a mechanic was able to repair the rim and reset my alignment; I was really happy to be spared from buying a new 18″ wheel from the factory. They also rotated and rebalanced my tires and changed my oil, washed my car, vacuumed, and cleaned my rubber mats. Altogether everything took 2−½ hours. That’s a good amount amount of work for the timeframe. I’ve had a good experience with the service advisor Ryan Wheet — thanks again!

I took my car there yesterday in order for the tire to be looked at because it had a large bubble. The service receptionist, Michele, is great! She is so accommodating and friendly. Not to mention, she was really helpful in explaining the technicians recommendations for repairs.
The car was ready on time as promised. Also, they washed my car (including my diver and passenger side floor mats!!) before I picked it up for no extra charge!
If you are looking to buy a Mini, consider their tire and wheel package. In the long run it will likely pay for itself because runflat tires (which are on most Minis) can run ~300 $ to replace. Definitely check out this dealership if you are looking to buy a Mini.

This review is for the Service Department.
I called yesterday to make an appointment to get a belt changed, and needed to get it done ASAP, and Seth was able to assist me quickly, and told me to come in the very next morning. When I brought my ’05 Cooper in, I was also assisted quickly and honestly, after my car was evaluated, was told that it needed a few other things done, and was given price quotes on the spot, which I definitely appreciated. I didn’t have the time to wait this morning for the service to be completed, but they did top off my fluids and check my tires, free of charge. I will certainly return soon for follow-​up service. They also offer loaner cars, which adds to the convenience factor greatly.

While no one would consider car buying a painless experience, my test drives and purchase through Mark at Main Line Mini have been easy, friendly, and pretty enjoyable.
Any complaints? Sure — sometimes the wait is long because of the crowds… but every time I’ve been in, Mark has been great.
I also had to schedule some service recently (note: the windshield washer fluid and antifreeze fill holes are REALLY easy to confuse= ]) but I was in & out in the hour they promised.
When I’m ready to buy my next MINI, I’ll definitely call Mark again.

When a woman leaves a message that she is traveling across country with her 12 year old daughter and she needs a safety check done on her Mini, it’s best to call her back… you think? Not a word…

The customer service at the other MINI dealership in the area is awesome! That reinforces the one star rating for MINI of the Main Line.

I don’t know why some people are giving bad reviews to this wonderful little dearlership. I have purchased two MINIs here. The first was an ’03 MCS that I recently traded it in on an ’09 JCW.
What keeps me coming back is the service. Yes the service desk may get busy in the mornings, but if you leave a message they WILL return your call. I usually get a loaner when I need it, and when there isn’t one available they are happy to drop me off at the train station so I can get to work on time.
Seth, the head mechanic is unbelievable. He always comes out from the shop to let me know what he did to my car. I would never have anyone else work on my car if at all possible.
Even the guys in the parts department know me by name. When I’m looking for that special item for my car, they always spend the time to locate it or order it for me.
I’m not here to say anything bad about the other MINI dealerships in the Philly area, I just prefer MINI of the Main Line.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE EMPLOYEES. They’re only out to RIP PEOPLE OFF, and are extremely disrespectful and nasty. They NEVER return calls, and if they do, it’s only to tell you that you need to put more money into a car that has more problems than a math book. Aviod this place like the plague, and head to Otto’s in West Chester or Princeton Mini in NJ.

I just leased a Clubman from these guys. I love the car, of course. But, I have to compliment the staff as well. Steve was very thorough, patient, helpful and NOT pushy. I also dealt with the receptionist, finance guy and one of the mechanics — all great.

I have purchased two cars here, a coupe when the Mini first came to the USA and then traded for a cabriolet when they were introduced. Several years later, I still have and love my cab!
The folks at Main Line have been great to entrust my service to. Jeff & Ed are the greatest! My advisor is Ed and he is an absolute gentleman and has always treated my car with respect as well as myself. I never walk away with that queasy feeling that I had just been «had». I have also never had to go back to the dealership to get a re-​do, all repairs have been right, the first time! It is interesting how they manage to keep it casual, yet are totally competent. I have gladly recommended Mini Main Line to friends and I will continue to do so! And. I will continue to go there myself!
Minis are fun and socially conscious at the same time… get one.

I had a great experience today with Mini of the Main Line. Started out lousy because my 2002 Mini Cooper would not start (I guess 8 years is too long to rely on one battery! — my fault).
So I resigned myself to an annoying ordeal getting that resolved. Well the folks at this Mini dealership totally turned the day around; without getting into details, they provided service beyond what I expected, saving me tons of aggravation.
It was great catching up with the fellow who sold me the car all those years ago too, Mark! Thanks to the team especially Jeff, Dan and Han (I hope I spelled his name right).

I called up to schedule a simple service appointment.
Call attempt 1: disconnected by their phone system
Call attempt 2: voice mail after being on hold 5 minutes
A few hours later, I got a call back, but was hung up on again. I expected the guy on the other line to call me back, but he didn’t. I called back 5 minutes later and I was finally put through.
I called this place on Monday morning, and they had no service appointments available for the entire week. Absolute insanity, considering I was willing drop the car off and have them work on it at their convenience.
Fed up, I’m driving all the way to Otto’s in West Chester to get this mini serviced. I called Otto’s and they were willing to take it the next day. Otto’s also has weekend service available too, which it blows my mind that a Mini dealer this close to Philly wouldn’t have weekend service hours.
