History

Established in 1982.

HLC Electric Supply Co. was established in 1982 but our history goes back much further than that. In the mid 1950’s two brothers, Charley and Art Contreras, started a business servicing and reselling industrial electrical equipment, this company was called Industrial Marine. For more than two decades, during an era know as the golden age of electricity, these brothers provided an alternative source for electrical distribution and motor control equipment in a time when electrical manufacturers could not keep up with the pace of industrial growth in our country. Many of these systems are still in service today. Three generations later, and through a world of change in our industry, HLC Electric is proud to serve our community and customers across the nation with the wealth of knowledge of electrical systems or history and experience has taught us. From 1950 to today, to 2050 and beyond; HLC has the power to keep YOUR power on!

Manager

It’s hard to believe, but I have been working professionally in this field for more than 10 years already. It has been a journey that has taken me from the darkest dustiest corners of obscure warehouses to the roofs of some of the biggest buildings around. It has not been a journey free of pain, both physical and otherwise, but over all I would consider it enjoyable thus far. Besides the knowledge I have acquired in the field I am also proud of the education I have received from LATTC. It has made me a better electrician, trouble shooter and control logic programmer. I look forward to the challenges a career in this industry brings me.
