I can attest to the horrible ownership and behavior of the «master» Daniel. I went in there last year to sign up my little boy with autism, and the master was all nice at first, but when my husband came in to sign some contract, things turned ugly. This so called master Daniel got mad that my husband didn’t want to sign the CONTRACT because we weren’t sure my son would be receptive to the program as he is special needs. The owner and instructor Daniel comes over and says «just go then! Go some where else. You are taking too long.» My husband and I were like, wow, did you just hear that? Well there it is, lets go somewhere else like he said, then, my husband said. The lady behind the desk, Roxy, was nice and trying really hard to let us know it’s okay to sign a contract and that if we wanted we could stop the automatic debits from our bank account if we wanted to stop. My husband said, but that’s not what this contract says and he knew that our account would be simply sent to collections and we wouldn’t have a leg to stand on if this became a legal issue because he was to sign the contract. Then the big brute Daniel comes over again tell my me that I and my son could stay but that my husband needed to leave his facility. OMG! That was so rude. Yeah, like I’m gonna stay as he kicks out my husband. I don’t think so! What the hell?
We all started leaving this place out the back, and this psycho runs out after us and presses all up on my husband and in his face and says, «did you call me an asshole?» «Call me an asshole to my face!». My son started crying because he was frightened. My husband told him he didn’t call him such a name. Perhaps Roxy told him that we were about to sign up but he kept acting like an asshole. Maybe? She was trying to hold this out of control Daniel back by holding his shoulders from behind, telling him, no! no! Daniel, stop it! Damn. Good thing too. That foolish owner/​instructor Daniel didn’t know that he wasn’t the only black belt out there, and my husband was ready to take him out! However, my husband has learned from the best TKD studio, SK Tae Kwon Do, that if you can, you do not fight. You only use your skills to defend yourself.
I recommend to anyone that has been a victim of this angry man’s behavior that you file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Tae Kwon Do association. He should be banned from being around children. And if he ever lands a hand on you, call the police.

We have three children that go to this dojo, and our kids are doing great… ever since they started coming here, their grades have come up, their self esteem has built up and they have become more disciplined… I have a son with ADHD and he has picked up skills in focusing and calming himself down… he is actually reading now, because he can take the time to focus… I have a daughter who has anger issues and is learning how to channel them into more productive and positive things now, instead of just hitting someone or crying… my other daughter is building confidence in herself and is learning to become a positive roll model… and when it comes to the money side of things, Master and his wife Roxi have always worked with us!!! May it come to equipment, exams, tournaments… whatever it may be, they have always worked with us! We have always been treated with respect and the upmost courtesy and I definitely reccomend this place to everyone!

I can’t say I’ve been to this dojang, but I have issues with the guy running this place. I don’t know him or even talked with him, but the actions he presented against my daughter was unacceptable as an adult, a teacher and lastly, a master of taekwando. At a tournament he was involved in, apparently he was in charge of pairing competitors when he called my daughter «too big» to compete against anyone. Competing as a yellow black stripe he told her he was going to put her against a black belt. right after they decided to declare «full contact», of course she started to cry. I could not believe a grown man, head of a school, could treat anyone like that. No respect, no compassion, no empathy, no integrity. Black belt or not, he doesn’t have the right to ridicule anyone, especially children. Isn’t he supposed to build them up? Teach them confidence, build their self esteem? Obviously I’m not the only parent or person touched by the negativity of this guy. His attitude is shameful…

This place is owned and ran by CROOKS. If I could give NO STARS I would! The two owners, Daniel & Roxy, want your money and don’t teach clients the proper universal Tae Kwon Do techniques that are recognized in Korea. The so called Master of the place, Daniel, can’t even do a basic jump front kick if his life depended on it. Talk about Stale and Not Conditioned! It’s ironic how this place can be considered a location of fitness and discipline when the owners sell unhealthy and fatty snacks, such as chips and candy to their clients. Promoting health and wellness should be their forte. Advice: Stay away from this place, and spend your money at a TKD studio that offers an effective and universally recognized program that highlights proper form, technique, discipline and wellness. These people are rude and don’t CARE about their clients’ well-​being. This place is a Joke and it’s crazy that their doors are still open.

Don’t sign their contract! They debit monthly or u get sent to collections if u pull kids out-​no matter the reason: medical, school related, etc. As of this Halloween weekend’s exam, I no longer support or believe in this tkd studio, read on. Years ago my girls and I joined as an extra curricular activity for 7 years. My girls had private school finals to prepare for so I told master I could only take them to class Mon, Wed, Fri, he said no, to take them 6 days a week to prepare them for their next belt exam, I again said no, school finals were priority, he then said that he would not allow them to test for their belt then, I finally told him I would rather remove them from class because it’s an activity not priority over private education. As soon as I did, I was sent to collections and he continued debits from my account until his stupid contract was satisfied, he also kept their past medals and final belts. Years later my oldest made peace with the owner master and started as a student assistant, only to be worked to death for practically minimum wage pay ($ 2 hr) and no breaks! She gave all of her evenings and weekends to the kids and school because she really loves working for the kids when all of the sudden She’s «let go». She was replaced by a intermediate brown belt student but parents and students deserve a qualified black belt person for the money they pay! My daughter helped start the brand new class in El Monte and has truly bonded with the students and parents and supposedly the owner is telling everyone she just quit. After all these years I truly thought this studio had improved and now focused on honesty and integrity and worked to better the students and still make it affordable for the hard working parents but I realize that the owner will let go of really dedicated employees and close parent and student relationships for MONEY!!! Money over everything should be his mission statement!!! Shame on them! I’m happy my daughter no longer works there and hope parents wake up. Things will go downhill thanks to master and his pushy office assistant now «wife». The things people do for money. The things money makes you do!

I’ve been in many tae Kwon do schools and this school has the best program. Discipline competition And being a good athlete is what they have

The owner and instructor, Daniel Vitiello, at this place is a horrible person and should not be allowed around kids. My wife and I took our 5 year old autistic child for a 2 week try for $ 25 and got the customary free uniform. After the two weeks we went back to arrange for our son to continue because he liked it! They wanted me to sign a 12 month contract they called an «agreement» or a «membership» which I read thoroughly before I committed to anything. Although the lady behind the counter said we could discontinue anytime, the contract said otherwise and that we only had 3 days to cancel or else the entire amount was due immediate. Because I was hesitant to sign, Daniel, the owner and instructor, got really pissed off! He is the big, tall, bald dude with a goatee and wears a camouflage uniform with a worn out black belt and sometimes a black hair net. After he saw us questioning this contract, he came over to us and very rudely and abruptly grumbled, fine, go somewhere else or don’t sign and pay me the entire 1yr up front in full!
Wow, what a temper! The lady who is obviously in charge of the sign ups and cash register is nice and continues to show us our options. After another 10 minutes, the owner, Daniel, guy comes back really fed up and says for us to get out and that we’ve been here too long. Just go! He shouts. This made my 5 yr old kid start to cry! He then points to my son and says that he can stay, and then points to me and says be he has to go! So I say let’s get of here.
As we are walking out in the back parking lot, this psycho comes barreling out behind us shouting, «Come here! Call me an asshole to my face! Call me an asshole to my face»! He wanted to throw blows with me in the parking lot! All this while I’m holding my son’s hand trying to leave. My wife and I were shocked. My kid was scared as he stood all squared up in front of me. I said, «I didn’t call you an asshole» and I really did not! Talk about guilty conscience. The nice office lady is holding him back by the shoulder telling him to leave us alone. He angrily bellows for us to leave his studio. And I say, «we were leaving but you came out and stopped us». He continues to mumble something and shouts «get out of my school! don’t come back!» as we just turn around and quickly go to our car.
We were all in utter disbelief at this guys bad temper and impatience. Martial arts is supposed to teach you self control and how to defend rather than attack. That’s what I learned while getting my black belt at SK Tae Kwon Do. He didn’t know, but he wasn’t the only black belt in the parking lot that day. I was so ready defend myself, my wife and my kid if I had to, but I learned to only use my martial arts training for SELF DEFENSE. He didn’t touch us, so I had no defending to do. Beside, my kid was right there and would have been traumatized or even injured!
Parent wouldn’t take their kids to this guy If parents knew how this guy really is when he doesn’t get his way, i.e. when you are reluctant to sign their «agreement/​membership» which is really a 1yr. contract that gets sent out to a collections agency for payments. I am so glad we saw his true colors. His nice assistant was actually talking us into signing up, but he kept coming by and shooting himself in the foot every time he opened his mouth. Too bad, I thought he was such a nice guy when I first meet him. I guess that’s just to get you to SIGN UP, then it’s get out of the room, you can’t stand around here watching — literally. They tell you to watch from outside the front of the store or in the back room down stairs via a TV. What!
Not a family friendly place, definitely not for kids.
