Bethlehem Nursery School has been in the business of educating children since 1976. We believe that children learn best by doing and experiencing. At Bethlehem Nursery School, we provide an environment that is child-​centered, interactive, and «hands-​on», nurturing a child’s development socially, emotionally, cognitively, spiritually, and physically. Each program provides a comprehensive literacy-​based educational experience through reading and math readiness activities, music and movement, art, dramatic play, block play, sand and water tables, and much more. Children have the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills through supervised play in our large indoor gym as well as our outdoor play area.

Bethlehem Nursery School provides a caring, Christian, environment that helps children develop a positive self-​concept and grow in their ability to relate to others. Ultimately, we provide a program that nurtures a child’s comprehensive development and establishes a solid foundation

History

Established in 1976.

In association with Bethlehem Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation, Bethlehem Nursery School opened its doors to the Baldwin community at the beginning of the Nursery School era. Providing progressive, innovative, and quality education has been our goal from the beginning. Using the part-​time model for many years, we applied for and received our NYS License in the early 2000’s. We now provide before care and after care for children 33 months to 5 years old.

Educated at Newberry College, a small Lutheran college in South Carolina, I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to be an educator for almost 20 years. I have worked with children of all ages, but particularly love working with preschoolers. I have taught both in the classroom and been an administrator in several private schools over the past 15 plus years. My husband, two children and I moved to Long Island in 2010 where we are happy to call home.
