This Hannaford is closer to me than other stores so we find ourselves running here more frequently than others. Its a decent store that has the basics of what you would need. I agree with others that it isnt a very big store compared to some others that I have seen. My one major complaint is that it seems like NONE of their employees are aware that they have rewards program! Ive lived in the area for a few months now and no one ever talked to me about one in the store, about a month ago I was on the website to check out the online ordering for the Saratoga Springs location and I saw the tab for rewards. I checked it out and signed up with all my info and they said they would be sending me my cards through the mail. A few days passes and I get stickers and put one on my card. Every single time I am shopping there I ask them to scan my rewards barcode because they never ask me! When I mention it they have no idea what Im talking about and they usually tell me to swipe it on the pin pad. Can you believe that?! And everytime I explain to them that no its not something that can be swiped on the pin pad machine, its a rewards program for their store, no its not a gift card… the explanations go on and on because they NEVEREVER know what Im talking about! I have never been to a store that had a rewards program and didnt advertise it like crazy! Its usually such a huge component of these companies and it seems weird that they would have a program and not use it to their fullest capabilities.

Hannaford is a nice, small store to shop at if you need something in a hurry but often times, I find myself just taking a few more minutes to head to Price Chopper and Walmart because you get a bit more bang for your buck there. I am a bit disappointed that the aisles are not a little wider(impossible for two carts to pass at the same time) and I wish it were re-organized as well because I don’t care much for the look of the aisles at all. The only really good thing about Hannaford is that it’s a pretty quite place for a superstore and you can actually hear yourself think while walking about and looking to stuff to buy.

I have to agree with everyone — including the folks at Hannaford — that they should have made this store larger originally. The parking lot can be crowded and a bit hectic during rush hour or holidays. The store has good meat, produce, and seafood selections. Hopefully Hannaford will invest some more money into this store.

Hannaford’s was our store of choice… 5 years ago. It was the golden standard to which I compared all other grocery stores. Now it’s just a sad thing. Odd layout, scummy interior. Needs an update, like the PC on Rt 50.
