I chose Amazing Hvac after doing a bit of research through neighborhood associations FB pages (many people on the south Baltimore neighborhood association FB page highly recommended Amazing HVac.) I liked that they were also located in SoBo. The technician, Chris, was polite and helpful in explaining exactly what needed to be fixed on our heater (a sensor.) he was here for about an hour making sure everything was fixed once he was finished. I would use them again — I even bought their yearly membership to receive a 15% discount on work and 2 service visits through the year. Thanks again!

long story short, this company over charged me by $ 200 more than what I thought I was paying. technician Jeremy sounded professional and courteous. and when I asked him over the phone what would be the TOTAL cost including the «trip cost» of a sat repair, he told me $ 221 because he really could not find the real reason why a low voltage fuse was blown. I thought that was very reasonable and told him to go ahead and replace the fuse. when I saw the charge on my CC of $ 420 the next day, I was shocked! I ended up spending more than 40 min on a call with Katie and the Jeremy. turned out that Jeremy was certain that he told me it was $ 420 total, and I know I would not have said yes to $ 420 as I simply don’t have the money, plus I have a regular HVAC guy who is really good and inexpensive, and who just happened to be in PA last sat so I decided to give a google search a try. Katie did offer either I had to pay or they’ll send someone out to pull the fuse of my a/​c. It was not a big deal for me to have the fuse pulled as i knew it was going to be rainy and cold this whole week. I could have my a/​c person to fix it in 15 min. but i practice what I preach — be honest and be good to your own karma. I would not want any small business to waste their time and resource like this (I am a small business owner myself) but I simply don’t have such budget for this. Katie offered to speak to the service manager who agreed to offer me some discount. in the end, the repair is about $ 330. to be fair, both Katie and Jeremy are patient and professional and apologetic for the miscommunication. what compelled me to give them low rating is really their pricing structure — as informed to me, they don’t separate labor cost from parts (so you really cannot compare) and I do think they are on the high end. so just be aware of that. and as of today, I am still waiting for the $ 88 refund to my card.

Far far from amazing. This copmay is as awful a as it can get, the people who works in the office are rude, condescending and very unfriendly. I had to deal with them one time. The lady in their accounting department is so nasty and rude and you cannot believe what you hear that comes out of her mouth. She gets so angry if you have an issue and calling her to get help. Do not hire them for HVAC work. Do your homework and find and use another HVAC company. STAY AWAY.

We were having some trouble with the A/​C in our house last Friday afternoon… the air vents were blowing air, but it wasn’t cold. It looked like the condenser wasn’t spinning up at all. After enduring a warm, humid night in the house, we called around the next day and finally found the listing for Amazing on Unilocal.I was a bit cautious because the reviews were mixed, but having a stuffy hot house with a newborn, and no options left (other than waiting until Monday), I decided to go with Amazing.
All I have to say was that they lived up to their name. The call center was friendly and promptly got us connected to the dispatcher, who was able to get a technician to our house in less than an hour. Jeremy the technician was able to assess the situation and make the repair quickly, probably in less than 30 minutes. He clearly explained everything that was going on while he was making the repairs. The price for the parts and service seemed on par with what my research told me, although you do have to expect to pay $ 99 for an emergency appointment. It was worth it in my opinion (also, the landlord paid for it, so definitely worth it!). I’d definitely recommend Amazing if you’re in need of emergency HVAC repairs.

My furnace was leaking condensation, a lot. After the first company I called who apparently installed my unit flat out didn’t show for the appointment they set after I sat at my house for six hours I called Amazing. Amazing was extremely professional as far as keeping appointment times and the dispatcher giving me a heads up when the tech was on the way. When the tech came he diagnosed a coolant leak and said he could do «a band aid fix» and top off the coolant for a couple hundred bucks and presumably be good for the summer vs 2300 to replace a coil. The unit never stopped leaking and when I called back the next day the tech seemed very surprised, i don’t feel Amazing was being misleading or dishonest but it was definitely disappointing. I know it was presented as a «band aid» but I expected the band aid to work for some period of time rather than never work. Long story short I coughed up 2300 to do the real fix, they were very courteous, knowledgeable and timely, not sure if I got a great deal but am confident it was fixed correctly.

Our heat pump broke on one of the coldest nights of the year. We didn’t notice it until 7pm. I called Amazing and asked for a appointment the next morning and a technician (Jeremy) came out on time.
They told me over the phone that the technician will diagnose the problem and give me a written report and cost BEFORE they do anything. If I didn’t want to do it, I just pay $ 99 for them to come out, if I did want the work done, the $ 99 is waived.
My plan was to see the problem/​estimate and call my step dad who is an HVAC person but lives far away to see if it was legit/​fair pricing. Well the technician fixed it before telling me because he said it wasn’t that big of a deal. He also recommended removing an old humidifier that was possibily spreading mold everywhere and patch up the whole once it was removed. I told him to go ahead because you don’t mess around with mold.
All in all the heat pump is fixed, there is no more moldy humidifier, and my step dad ended up saying that the pricing was really reasonable. :) I am very pleased with how fast they came out and how awesome the tech was.

Amazing Appliance is quick to reply and very punctual. They accommodate your availability and book appointments in a reasonable amount of time. My heat broke and the fee to visit my house was waived because of service. Steve had to replace a part and change the output speed for the fan. It made a huge difference. He was kind and very helpful. I recommend using Amazing Appliance.

I called Amazing to check out my heat pump system because it wasn’t keeping up with the cooling when it was extremely hot out (above 90-​degrees or so). The tech came in check the system and told me that my thermal expansion valve was shot and it would cost me over $ 2000 dollars and I really should just replace the system. He also told me that the installation was extremely shoddy, which I think is actually true. Finally, he told me that I have a slow refrigerant leak and that my refrigerant is low. He quoted me several prices from a few hundred dollars to refill the refrigerant to a couple thousand dollars to replace the TXV. I told him that I wasn’t prepared to spend the money at that time, paid the $ 99 diagnostic fee, and sent him on his way.
Three days later, my outdoor unit stopped working. To be clear, I don’t think there’s any likelihood that this failure is Amazing’s fault. Since I wanted a second opinion on what Amazing had told me anyway, I called another local company that was recommended by a friend. They sent two techs out the next day (I’d called in the evening). In less than an hour, the diagnosed the problem with the outdoor unit (failed capacitor that was visibly bulging at the end), fixed it, and determined that there was nothing else wrong with my system besides the shoddy installation. I spent a total of $ 135 with them including the capacitor replacement.
The upshot is that Amazing tried to sell me a collection of expensive repairs (or an even more expensive full new system) that I absolutely did not need. I will not be using them again under any circumstances.
