Small but useful store with many supplies and items for the artist or someone like myself who is making her own save the dates. We picked up two stamp pads, thick card stock, and some materials for my fiancée for just under $ 70. Parking is metered and nearby, it’s kind of a sketch neighborhood at night. The store associates were very helpful. Quirky artists and hipsters are right at home.

Why I approve: — Décor — once you look at the store, even before you walk in, you know it’s a unique and original place with unique and original employees — 15−20% off of the manufacturer’s suggested list price — 10% student/teacher discount with ID — Biggest art store in Baltimore and has all sorts of material including paints, sculptures, framing, watercolors, wood panels — Good customer service

I love this place. It’s inexpensive, has lots of great art supplies and you never know what you are going to find. For instance, last time I was there, I picked up this awesome little alligator that was sitting on the shelf and it was only 99 cents when I went to pay! There’s also lots of pads, paper, printmaking supplies, paint, canvas and I’m sure lots of other art supplies I can’t think of! Also, unlike Utrecht/dick blick and Plaza, I don’t think this place is a chain, but I might be wrong. Also, there used to be a dude who worked there and he always wore a red cape!!! But I didn’t see him the last time I was there. The only negative is parking is tough. Be prepared to search.

This art store is really rare. It has a great selection, good prices and good customer service. It’s an amazing trifecta of awesome. It has a nice variety of goods, I can waste hours in this store just perusing the aisles! You will find all the basics you could ask for as well as a variety of fun extras. I regularly purchase gifts here as they have such an eclectic range of items. In addition to art supplies, I have found some of the coolest novelty erasers I have ever seen, incredibly unique stickers, and a nice group of wholesome kids toys(I have a nephew for whom I get something small almost every time I visit). They also have cool reusable bags and funky socks that I have gifted to friends as well. But on top of that the prices are very reasonable. It actually astonishes me how affordable they are. And that’s the regular prices, when they have sales — watch out! — you will have a hard time leaving without taking advantage of some of the incredible deals. Add to this that the staff are actually friendly, accommodating, helpful and encouraging. I have found that to be somewhat rare at art stores. At other art stores, I typically either find staff who have no idea where to find products(or what products I am even talking about) or people who have a sense of entitlement because they are«artistes» and they make me feel like a bit of a poser since I am not at their level. No thanks. The staff here are the opposite. They know their stuff and they go out of their way to help you find exactly what you need(even if you are a little vague on what exactly that is). The atmosphere is laid back and casual. I have had the staff stop me at the register before ringing in an item to ask me if I had seen a similar product they carry that is more affordable(I had not seen it, it was exactly what I needed and it saved me a decent amount of $$ — WOW! She suggested this on her own, I would have happily left paying for the much more expensive product — but because of experiences like this, I will always be back!). This place really is a gem!

Don Sinish and his crew at the North Av. location in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and thorough. They make great suggestions and, as a result, have me walking out of there a happy and well-supplied customer. The store is very well-stocked with a wide selection of products for a variety of skill levels — just an overall good resource with nice people.

Good lord this place is dangerous! I almost wish I’d never stopped in because now it’s going to be impossible not to blow my paycheck on whatever supplies are necessary for my crafting whim of the week. But with prices this low how will I be able to resist! I’m pretty much resigned to being perpetually broke but up to my ears in quality craft supplies. Plus they offer a 10% student discount. I THINK I DIEDANDWENTTOHEAVEN.

I wandered into this shop with the expectation of dropping to my knees, taking out my wallet, and burning it ceremoniously in front of the art supply gods in hopes of pleasing them for a deal, any deal, on what are usually inflated supply prices. I grew up in the«art» world, I know how these supply stores are. Well, I am happy to say, I was welcomed by discounts, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and a rather pleasant shopping experience that left me with exactly what I needed at a price far below what I had expected to pay. So…as far as art supply shops go, I found the one I am gonna go to. –The staff didn’t eye me as I walked the aisle, fearing I would steal a micro pen to sate my creepy art school fetishism(I’m not an art student, I’m a fireman. I should make that clear) –They asked me immediately what I was looking for, found it for me, and then found a cheaper version for me. –Tons of crap is on sale. In conclusion, shop here. Fin

I wish cities still had more stores like this. The staff is knowledgable and friendly and there’s a huge variety of artist specialty supplies.

This place is so convenient, it right by my school and it’s over the rainbow! They have everything you need and more! They also give student discounts(as if the stuff isn’t cheap enough for you.) The owner, I believe is an old guy with glasses, he’s very friendly and informative. So if you ever have any questions about what you need to buy, he’ll definitely help you as much as he can. I got a few microns and some basswood sticks. I had concerns if I could cut basswood with an x — acto box cutting knife, but he did a demonstration for me and it cut perfectly. Great service, great prices, great location!

I’m a MICA student, so I’m pretty sure I’m A&C’s target audience. Because of this, my needs are catered to well here. It’s within walking distance and has a wide range of things at very reasonable prices. The first time I went I just wandered around for a while marveling at things like tiny model people, metallic paints, textured paper, and humorous postcards. While I haven’t bought paper from there, I hear it’s the cheapest around. It’s a great place to grab something you need for a project but while there you may end up picking up a few things you don’t need, per say, but that piqué your interest and stir up your creativity. And what more can you ask from an art supply store? Well, I suppose a student discount, but they have that too!

Maybe they read my mind or heard my bitchin’ and whinin’ but I’d like to confirm that yes, they have many adhesive tapes now. Also, more pens. YAY.

Great selection, well stocked. Affordable in the art store kind of way. I was impressed by their selection of wax and resin. two items that are frequently missing from nyc’s pearl.
