Autohaus of Mt Washington

I needed new brake pads on my Volvo and I noticed the specialty in foreign cars on their sign so I gave them a try. They did an excellent job, but the truly amazing part is that the owner, Brian, waited an hour beyond closing time for me to pick up my car. I took light rail that day which turned out to be total disaster and my 25-​minute ride turned out to be over an hour and a half. Brian hung in there and waited for me because I really needed my car that evening. I’m very thankful for his generosity.

Brian and his crew have never let me down. Quality work done right every time. He is my only mechanic.

I would not come back not even if they pay me! Do not waste your time and money!!! This guy arrogance disturbes me, claiming he does restoration quality work and then won’t even touch the car, he assumes his customer do not have the means to pay, because he is so expensive because he does the best work, he will refuse to give you an estimate, all he will do is look it over and send you somewhere else… If you wanna find out how I came to this conclusion read on, otherwise take my word for it… So, I came here after a couple places, which included Comprehensive Auto care of MT. Vernon had suggested to bring my classic VW bug here. I had no brakes! Oh let me tell you what I found. First, as soon as I meet the owner Brian, he says oh how nobody ever wants the work done here, all these people always come in and say they do not have the money all they want to know what is wrong with their car. I said I want you to fix my car not just tell me what’s wrong, I have no brakes I want it done right and this is my only car. He said «you are the first person in the longest time that actually wants me to fix their car» I said yes its my brake I want it done right. Would you go anywhere to get a shitty brake job? I What kinda of dumba#$#$# does he think his customers are? left my car there, expecting it to be done by the next day. Then I got a call that afternoon… Brian was like well there is all this stuff wrong with your car, I don’t want to rip you off, the story goes about him being a multi millionaire and not needing the money and that he would suggest a specialist. (didn’t even sound like the same song from earlier) I repeatedly asked for an estimate, I said you get me an estimate by tomorrow am and I will decide if I can afford it or not. He was like ok but you should take your car to this other guy instead, all he does is bugs. So i repeat… estimate and I will access myself. I am an adult, I know what I can afford.
He calls me back 10 minutes later and tells me to call this dude, that he is too expensive and that he only does restoration quality work. I told him look are you gonna give me an estimate for this restoration quality work, its my brakes and I don’t expect any less. He gave me the number to this dude, I went to pick up my car and I got charge for being looked over.
So let me ask you if he did not have the intention to fix it to start with, why didn’t he tell me to start with to go to this other guy, instead of making $ 75 for looking over that obviously the other guy will find anyway? Just to make a few bucks from me, waste my time and treat your customer condecently. As an honest guy, that he so claims to be, he should have just said, look I dont’ repair those anymore, let me give you this guy’s number who will, instead of looking like a pretencious you know what. Many mechanics have turned down my car, I know she is an antique, I don’t take it personally, but none of them will pull this kinda stunt. Maybe cause I am a chick, hispanic, know my shit about cars… I don’t get it. But I will never go back to this guy, who will jump all over you if you have a newer car and you come in dressed in Versace… Show up in a beemer. Honestly not even if I had a BMW I would go there. Cause I know he would try to rip me off. One thing good came out of it, I got to know the guy he recommended, he actually knows his stuff, its an extremely nice guy, honest and moderately priced and I will keep him as my mechanic for a long time. Honestly, I would not give my money to a dishonest person who doesn’t give customer respect!
