This is my first time at this barber shop. I got a great haircut, I was pretty happy.

Good haircut. For the price, I expected a bit more, but it was an overall above-​average experience.

Recently visited the Lounge for a haircut. No complaints. Got a great hair cut at a reasonable price!

Cool little barbershop. Really cool guys. Once you get in, be sure to sign in on the clipboard. The atmosphere is nice, they have a small area with a couple lounge chairs, books, almost every magazine you can think of and a very large TV with the news broadcast.
These guys won’t hesitate to give you some direction if you’re new.
The one thing that you’ll have to swallow is the wait time. Make sure you make enough time for you to wait. Patience truly pays off when you find the barber that’s right for you.
I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Troy. I have never had a barber pay attention to detail like troy did. I left happy and looking fresh. I’ll definitely be back.

Top notch barber shop in a bustling section of the Mt. Vernon neighborhood. I’ve been here several times and the service is consistently outstanding. All the barbers greet each customer with a warm welcome as they step down into the cozy lounge.
I’ve noticed several patrons prefer the service of Kyle, but coming from a guy that is very particular about the stylings of his long thick locks, each and every one of these guys can deliver an exceptional cut to your liking.
With a $ 17 fee for a standard male haircut, you will not find a more affordable, gratifying hair cutting experience in Baltimore!

This is a really good place to get a nice haircut. I have been here a few times before and haven’t had any issues.
The service is excellent here. The barbers here are friendly and will talk if you want to converse. If you don’t want to converse then they won’t push a conversation, which is a good plus.
The atmosphere is nice, clean, has a lounge area and is classy with a modern touch.
I come from the Midwest, so the prices in the city for haircuts are pricy for me, but this place isn’t too bad. It is very fair for the quality of service that you get.
Overall, if you want a good cut for a reasonable price I recommend that you check this place out.

Cash Only, NO ATM, NO SHAVING, but you can choose only machine cut if you have beard. Expensive hair cut $ 17/​basic plus tips. Clean place, friendly. Don’t come in weekend as wait time is long even though they try to dismiss a person in an average ¹⁵⁄₃₀ min. Parking are paid on street $ 2/​HR. Have a open garage by the church but also need to paid.

Walked in today for a haircut. My office is 4 blocks away but my commute is over an hour so getting home in time to see the barber is tough.
The place is clean and the two guys working (Nick and Sean) were friendly and engage to talk with.
My haircut was spot-​on and the price was right. There was a 5 minute wait. Apparently they get real busy after 5 PM.

I just moved to town and my last hair stylist recommended I hit a barber for my short ‘do so I hit up BBL and loved it. It was not an issue that I was the only girl in the salon. The barber looked at the pictures I brought and «read my mind» to fill in the rest. I got an epic fade at a very reasonable price. We had easy conversation and I was in and out in 30 minutes. I usually go to salons that take 2 – 3 times as a long and cost more, too. This was a low maintenance, easy haircut. I will definitely go back!

I had one of the best hair cut of my life here when visiting Baltimore for a conference recently. I wish these guys worked in my hometown!
I forgot my barbers name but he was mostly quiet and knew his job. He made sure he cut my hair exactly how I wanted with no other BS.

This was my first time here. Nick did a great job cutting my hair. My only complaint is that the razor he used to shave my neck was really dull and tugged uncomfortably at my skin. When you get in, sign in on the sheet to know what place you are (if it’s busy). You can park in front of the building from 12pm to 4pm Monday through Friday (metered parking). Parking in front from 4pm to 6pm Monday through Friday gets your vehicle towed. The opposite side of the street appears to be unrestricted metered parking. The shop is cash only.

Normally I like my salon visits and the pampering but I’m a changed man. The barbershop vibe was in full effect! Male bonding for sure. We chatted about life, Nick gave me a sick fade and I left extremely satisfied. No thrills but I think I like it that way now.

My guy used to go to Supercuts for a metrosexual cut. I met him that way, we fell in love that way… whatevs… Then… one day… he had to walk to a barber for a haircut due to his broken car.
My man came back a MAAAAUUNNN! It was a trendy and masculine cut. Yummo
I am very happy with the results. I am sure they will cut you the best way they see fit, but I appreciate what they have done to his hair.

I’ll confess, I’m usually not the kinda dude to hit up barbers in Baltimore — last time I did, I got a weird white boy fade. Thankfully, this place has changed my mind entirely.
Baltimore Barber Lounge is a nice barbershop in the northern Baltimore area, which makes it rather convenient. It’s right on the street and features no parking — which seems to be an issue, considering the number of signs in the place warning you about where not to park lest you get towed — but that’s normal for the area. Everything is nice and definitely manly, though not in the sort of pandering «I’m a sports barber» sort of way.
The haircut I got, which was for $ 17, was quite good. The barber spent a significant amount of time perfecting the clipper cut on the sides, which was very much welcome — it shows he actually gave a crap. In terms of use of tools, this place definitely errs on the side of using clippers instead of scissors, which is perfectly fine by me.
I’d definitely go back.

I tried this place out off a recommendation from a friend. There were a handful of other people when I went, which I always assume is a good thing. Troy was my barber and man, did he do a great job! He took his time, chatted things up, and made sure I got what I wanted. Going right back next week to get trimmed up.
The place isn’t huge, but has a good feel to it. The staff is friendly and they like talking to everyone there.
Cash only, but not a huge issue at all. I’m sure there’s an ATM down the road.

Kyle and his other barbers at the Baltimore Barber Lounge are who you should be going to if you’re a guy looking for an amazing place to get your haircut.
This barbershop has modern décor with old fashioned great service and charm. Kyle, the owner, is very friendly and takes pride in his haircutting craft. He’ll work with you to find what style you’re looking for and really succeeds in making getting your haircut an experience, rather than simply an errand that needs to get done. After your haircut they also use a straight razor and hot shaving cream to clean up your neck line, which is great because it keeps it looking sharp longer.
It’s the kind of place you know you’ll get a top notch cut by people who will actually remember who you are. For all this at a very affordable price, why would you go anywhere else?
Personally, I also find that many barbers struggle to work with my asian hair, it’s really stiff and thick. But Kyle was able to get it looking great and it turned out way better than your average buzz the sides /​clip the top cut. You could tell that he cared about the quality of his work and wanted to build a good relationship with his clients.
This barbershop is one of those great places that makes the normally mundane, an experience worth your time. Yeah, everyone needs to get your haircut, but that doesn’t mean it has to a chore that you don’t look forward to. Getting a cut at the Baltimore Barber Lounge is like hanging out with a good friend who happens to be an excellent barber!

This place is really solid. I’ve gotten my haircut here twice and both times they got it the way I wanted. For the price, the quality can’t be matched.
The barbers are friendly, although one did comment on my uneven neckline haha. But this is a great place for a haircut.
My only qualm is that it’s cash only.

This place is great. Cheap cuts ($ 16 you-​call-​it), friendly staff and a teevee playing the news. The staff is very knowledgeable and will work with you even if you can’t properly articulate what you want («like, a little long on top and shorter on the sides, but still enough to, you know?).
Just be prepped, they only take cash.
Bonus: three of the four barbers cut your hair facing out, away from the vanity or whatever. You can still see yourself in the mirror stretching across the back of the shop, but for someone that gets sick of staring at their own mug for a whole cut, it is a great situation.

After moving to Baltimore a little over one year ago, I have been dying to find a great haircut. No joke, it got to a point where I was getting my hair cut in other states while traveling for work because I was fed up with mediocre, overpriced service at places in Highlandtown, Towson, or Canton (just to name a few — check my tips for Chicago if you ever need a good haircut there!).
This place is clean and they have a very comfortable waiting area complete with HDTV as well as some magazines. If you are a bicycle rider like me, the location is perfect — just a few minutes ride at the edge of Mt. Vernon. There’s even a few places right out front to lock up!
Ask for Troy — he did an amazing job and was very tedious whilst providing amiable conversation. In fact, upon receiving news that it’s cash only (which is what helps keep their prices rock bottom), Troy even let me leave without collateral to run a few blocks up the street to take money out of the ATM!
One of the few places open on Monday, as long as I continue to live in Baltimore, I finally have a barber!
