The Baltimore Blast is Baltimore’s professional indoor soccer team. The Blast, who came to Baltimore in 1980, competes in the Major Indoor Soccer League and plays its home games at 1^st Mariner Arena. Blast games feature action-​packed sports entertainment and are fun for the whole family.

History

Established in 1980.

It was during the summer of 1980 that the Baltimore Blast first made its mark in Baltimore; it was at the completion of the 1983 – 84 season that the team earned its place in Baltimore sports history by capturing the MISLChampionship. It was after the back-​to-​back championships in 2003 and 2004 that the Blast cemented its place among the Charm City’s great sports stories. The team impressed the city of Baltimore yet again with championships in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Originally located in Houston and known as the Summit, the team moved to Baltimore prior to the 1980 – 81 MISLseason and played its first home game (at the then-​Civic Center) on November 29^th, 1980. The 2009-​10 season marked the 30^th season of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore and distinguished Baltimore as the only city in the United States that has had a professional soccer team for 30 consecutive years.
