History

Established in 2002.

We started our dance careers in 1991, in preparation for our wedding, and have been dancing ever since!

in 2002, with the idea of bringing experienced, affordable, easier to learn ballroom dancing to the general public, we opened our first classes and Beginning Ballroom was born!

Since then, we have been featured at many venues around the city including: the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, The 13th Floor of the Belvedere. We have also been featured in a variety of print and on air media including: Brides Maryland Magazine, Style Magazine, the Baltimore Sun, the Jewish Times, WBAL Radio, Fox News, and Channel 2.

Business Owner

In 1991 we began our careers preparing to dance for our wedding, and have been dancing ever since, and in 2002, Beginning Ballroom was born!

As students, we won several gold and silver medals and top student awards in regional competitions from 1993 – 1997. As teachers, we returned to competition in 2009 to win the Alzheimers Memory Ball competition, defeating several international instructor competitors for the Judges Choice Award.

We have offered events and programs at several well know venues including the Walters Art Museum, BMA, the 13th Floor of the Belvedere and the Engineer’s Club. We have also been featured in various media including: Brides Maryland Magazine, Style Magazine, the Baltimore Sun, the Jewish Times, WBAL Radio, Fox 45 Morning News, and WMAR TV 2. We have also danced on NBC’s «The West Wing» in February 2003 and in Walt Disney’s period film «Washington Square» with Ben Chapin, Maggie Smith and Albert Finney in 1996.
