Doesn’t look like it but this place is delicious! Breakfast buffet was delicious. Lunch was delicious. Dinner was delicious! Did I mention this place was delicious?!

I wasn’t that interested in the menu here for dinner, so the waitress brought me over the menu for the sports bar next door(also in the Marriott, they share the same kitchen). I settled on the ribeye sandwich with fries. Perfectly grilled medium-rare steak with red peppers, portabello mushrooms, and cheese on a buttered toasted ciabatta roll. It was excellent… tons of flavor, texture, juicy steak, and crisp bread. My mom and aunt both had the cream of crab soup. Delicious and generous lumps of crab, not too salt either, as these cream based soups tend to be. M & A split the swordfish and shrimp special. They enjoyed it, but my aunt ate almost the entire loaf of bread so she was stuffed after her bowl of soup.

My girlfriend and I recently wanted to try new restaurants in the city as a part of their restaurant week promotion. We did the usual, close your eyes and take a stab and commit to that place no matter what. This is the one that came up and I think it’s safe to say we won’t be choosing restaurants that way anymore… First off, don’t bother making a reservation because it was pretty damn empty when we got there. Our original intention was to go for the restaurant week dinner, which was a three course meal for 30.07. Yet, when we showed up and asked for the restaurant week menu, the waitress first looked confused, and scurried off to find this ghetto computer printout of three dishes that we could get for the price. At the time, there was also a seafood buffet going on for 29.95. We asked the waitress for her opinion, and she looked at us and said there was no way she would pick the restaurant week fixed-price menu, but would definitely go for the buffet instead. We did so, and the food was passable. It was a pretty generic buffet with snow-crab legs and other seafood dishes. It was just a disappointment given that we had gone out to try to explore a random restaurant, and ended up with something like this. My girlfriend was most excited about the little shot-glass shooters of dessert, but even those were poorly made. During dinner, they actually had a jazz band going, and many families were celebrating birthdays and what not. The patronage to this restaurant consisted of us, a few business travelers, and a lot of big family gatherings that were bordering on the boisterous side of things. so overall, baltimore has great restaurants, and there is definitely no need to go here unless you’re in the mood for mediocre buffet food, but hey, I’m not judging. As a note, they even had a drawing for a two night stay at the Marriott. we did not win.
