Canton Vision Center

Had me on hold for 12 minutes while they talked to each other (I could hear the entire conversation) and when the girl came back I said if this is the kind of service I can expect I should go somewhere else. Her response, «ok no problem» and hung up. So don’t try to call to see if they have a particular frame in stock unless you have a lot of extra time.

Excellent Doctor but can be difficult to get an appointment with.
Also can be difficult at times to get someone to answer the phone.
Once you get around those obstacles, it is an a good place and better than most.

Fast, friendly and helpful. I recently went to the eye doctor there for the first time in 10 years. The check up was quick and information was clearly given. I received my glasses within a week.

When I ordered my glasses I was told they would be in at the latest 1 ½ weeks and I would receive a call. After 2 weeks I finally called and they were there. When I picked them up the anti glare wasn’t put on my glasses so they had to be sent back (as a «rush» order). I was told they would be in a week later. It is now 1 ½ weeks and I called and was told it would be another 5 days until they come in.

Canton vision center was not open when I tried to come in at 2:00 on a Tuesday. There was a note saying they were out to lunch – there must have been only one person working that day. The note said they’d return at 2:30… We finally left at 2:45.
For some folks this may be a convenient location, but not for me! It took me a half hour to drive over from Charles Village. I was drawn by the excellent reviews. I wish I had known to call first!

Dr. Beveridge is such a professional and has a very friendly demeanor. He is very knowledgeable and answers all of my questions each time. Highly recommended!

Dr. Beveridge is very professional and knowledgable. The office staff is very helpful. I’ve been going to Dr. Beveridge for the last few years and always had a pleasant experience.

I really do like Dr Beveridge as a doctor and he is very good at what he does. I do have to say I am unhappy with how the office staff never called me to tell me my glasses were in. Claimed they didn’t have my phone number yet I filled out all new paperwork with my cell and work numbers when i went for my last visit.

I’ve been going to Dr. Beveridge for a few years now and only have good things to say about his thoroughness, his communication skills, and his professionalism. I have also appreciated the rest of the staff and the patience I received while trying to select glasses. It’s always easy to order more lenses or have my glasses adjusted. I feel well taken care of by this group and the prices and scheduling/​hours have been reasonable.

Way better than chain retailers. The Doctor was very knowledgable with a complex condition and answered all my questions. Great selection of frames too.

Unfortunately, I didn’t even get to make it in the door. I set up an appointment a month in advance to have Dr. Beveridge do my dearly needed eye exam. Two days before hand, the office called me to tell me that the doctor would not be in that day and we would need to reschedule for another day. I had taken a day off to be able to make this visit and the complete nonchalance with which this information was given to me was all the more aggravating. To make matters worse, they were totally unhelpful with providing any professional recommendations for other optometrists/​ophthalmologists that might be able to fit me in on the same day.
I’m sure the rosier reviews below are authentic, but red flags like my encounter above can’t simply be dismissed.

At first, I was thinking 4-​stars, but after seeing all the other 5-​star reviews, I felt a little more pressure to really think about how I felt about Canton Vision.
The bottom line was:
–they are super convenient, if you live or work in the area
–they never seem too busy, so if you call ahead or make an appointment, you can be in and out in a jiffy

AND the clincher for me was
–their prices BEAT COSTCO (i don’t know how they did it but that’s amazing)
I bought two sets of lens for existing frames and while they had order it, I didn’t wait that long, received a phone call promptly when they arrived, and the lenses came back perfect. Apparently, my pupil-​to-​pupil distance is a little different than average, and with my astigmatism, if the tech doesn’t order it right, I have to send the lenses back. In the past, I’ve had to send back the lenses back multiple times. NOT WITH Canton Vision!
So price, accuracy, and convenience earned them 5-​stars for Canton Vision in this service category.

Dr. Beveridge is awesome! If you need to go anywhere for your eye exam/​lens/​frames/​contacts and you’re in Baltimore, then I don’t know why you would go anywhere but here. They are really personable staff, have a pretty solid selection of frames, and they schedule their appointments so you don’t have to wait. I’ve been 3 times and have waited maybe a total of 5 minutes before seeing the Dr. He looks out for your eyes, if you don’t need something, he’s not gonna try to sell it to you. Very honest, respectable, and friendly.

Wow. I can see again. I’d been going to the same optometrist for 30 years (gasp). I’ve been wearing glasses since 4^th grade, and now those same frames are back in style. :)
But I digress.
My optometrist recently retired, and after reading good reviews here about Dr. Beveridge, I thought I’d give him a shot. I’m so glad I did. I’d been in progressives for about 7 years, but I never could see really well. On top of that, I started getting headaches. After my eye exam, Dr. Beveridge suggested a single-​vision lens, appearing shocked/​appalled that I’d been in progressives for so long and telling me that it was too soon. I was skeptical at first but had nothing to lose, so I ordered the glasses. I’ve had them for a few days and feel like a new woman. My eyes are so relaxed — not straining to see, not squinting. I can’t believe it.
Go to Dr. Beveridge. That’s all I can say.

I live in Germantown, MD but once a year I find the time to go to Dr. Ryan Beveridge. He is worth the drive! I found him through friends that lived in the city and have considered Canton Vision Center my eye doctor ever since. The prices are very reasonable and their online store is very convenient.

A convenient location and a modern office helps on the grey and trashy streets of Canton. The doctor knew his stuff and was polite and efficient. He was willing to discuss my specific concerns and had intelligent suggestions. His assistant showed me a wide array of frames and had good advice on the trade-​offs between styles. The price of the specs I bought was more than reasonable.
However. .. Dr. Beveridge dashed in to my appointment and dashed out as soon as I was done. He never seemed impatient with the time I took, but I think his mind was elsewhere. We’ve all had days like that. His frame assistant was similarly correct and astute, but not what I’d call friendly.
Still, I came away with a fine new pair of glasses with a minimum of fuss.
I will recommend Dr. Beveridge to other members of my family. We’ll see how it goes.

Like the other poster, I started going to Dr. Beveridge at the Canton Vision Center because of the convenient location. He was wonderful and he was very conscious of keeping costs down for me. Great doctor and great service!
