Did not even realize places like this existed in Baltimore. Absolutely awesome loft space with a NYC vibe, but not NYC prices !! Great service, fantastic assortment and a true attention to detail. I did not feel like a customer, but was treated more like I was part of the family, which is rare. I could have spent hours in the show room. would highly recommend, will most certainly be going back.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, now live in NYC, and again, this place rivals any of the custom-​NYC show rooms that I frequent. In fact, I think the blend of uniqueness, assortment, service and pricing surpasses anything I have witnessed in NYC.

Just picked up my altered suit from CSC. They did a fantastic job. I was helped by Seth, who saw me the same day I called for an appointment, and was very helpful.
They have a great location and I had an excellent experience. Fast, friendly, and high quality work.
Price was very fair for what they did. I’ll definitely be going back for a full custom suit soon.

I’ll preface this review with I’ve never been in his store or had work completed by him. I can say that I’ve emailed, called, and stopped by to a locked door at 2pm on a weekday. The customer service overall was poor and I felt like I couldn’t give this guy my business even if I wanted to. If you can get into the store, I would definitely give him a chance, but I can’t go through the runaround again so I have taken my business elsewhere.

These guys are AWESOME. I have been ordering custom clothing for a few years now and have yet to find a Clothier whom can make me look good. I was introduced to them from a colleague who always looks dapper. He looks so dapper that I nicknamed him suit. Christopher and his Son Seth took their time to explain what they could do to make me not look like Grimace from McDonalds. I picked up my handmade suit today with 3 shirts and 3 ties. They look great on me. Now if I could only grow hair, I would have it going on… I highly recommend these 2 guys to anyone who is looking to enhance their appearance.

LOVE the owner! The space is TO DIE FOR! Lofty, antiques for days, a stage with a drum set and microphones in the back… Cool, open and hip spot.

My guy brought in his suit — he needed the jacket to be taken in a bit and the pants hemmed. We told Chris when we needed it by… life was good. My guy and I high fived each other for finding such a great spot and waited 1.5 or so weeks.
My dude called Chris on Sunday to follow up on the pick up (he needed the suit by Thursday because he was catching a plane for an interview) and Chris is in NYC and no one will be available until Wednesday. But great news! Chris is looking at fabrics and will have great options for my guy’s next suit!

Kinda nervous, but my guy does not need to be on a plane until Thursday, so Wednesday is fine with it because he has no choice.
Wednesday comes aaaaaand they cannot find his suit. So, Chris et al. gets measurements then sends suits out to BE tailored… blah blah blah. No suit. They find it, but they had to explain how another person’s inches keep changing so they are doing their best to keep up, and things got mixed up. So, they are jumbled because they have to tailor. clothes?

I have not seen the suit, but my guy said it looks great. I am giving them 3 stars because they only touched the suit to give it to someone to tailor, the communication was off and they lost his suit the day they said it would be ready.
I do not like to be negative — but that was not the most stellar introduction to their company. I’d try them again, but only if I did not have a time frame for them to work in.

Wow, very impressed with the personal service. Seth went above and beyond my expectations. Went in for alterations, and knowing I have an event in 7 days, I feel confident knowing I will have my jacket and pants in time.

This is a reasonably priced custom suit tailor. Chris and Seth provide a very personal touch when you go in for a consultation and walk you through every step of the production. The final product is an expertly tailored garment. With an overwhelming choice of options for each suit from personalized linings to designer buttons these suits produce compliments every time you put one on.
I’ve had Chris make me 6 suits, 5 sport coats, 4 pairs of pants, and about a dozen shirts. Average cost for a suit is about $ 1000.00 and takes about 8 weeks to get the final product. You’ll need to do an initial measuring and another fitting when the suit is back from production. Expect to take home your suit on your third visit. If you get more clothing after that, no additional measurements/​fittings will be required.
Chris and Seth back every one of their products no matter what the issue. One fabric I picked out for a suit did not look right after the suit was completed (I was just unhappy with the pattern). Chris made me another suit with a different fabric at no additional cost.
If you really need a reason (as stated in another review) his studio is pretty cool and worth checking out.

Seth made a SHARP SUIT for my now husband, and he looked AMAZING. And as an added bonus, the process was fun, warm, professional – truly above and beyond. Perhaps this review should be a lament, because all other suits are ruined for me. I cannot recommend Christopher Schafer Clothier enough, you will not regret getting a tailored suit.

My fiancé recently purchased a custom suit, 2 dress shirts, and 3 ties from Christopher Schafer and was extremely happy with the entire process. I was impressed by the quality of fabrics used and the workmanship. We have been guests at 2 different weddings since, and on both occasions, my fiancé has looked fabulous and received a multitude of comments.
I think it’s safe to say that he’s a suit snob now and will not settle for anything less than custom!

I met Chris a few months ago after hearing about him from word of mouth and I’ve been incredibly impressed with his suits and shirts and his business practice. I’ve purchased 2 suits from him that are the nicest I’ve ever owned and very reasonably priced. I wear a suit every day and I always get a lot of compliments on his stuff. Also his store/​studio/​whatever you want to call it is really cool and definitely worth checking out.
The reason I a writing this is because I am most impressed with how he takes care of me. I recently had a bad experience with a dry cleaner (see Harbor Cleaners) where they ruined a brand new custom shirt and refused to pay for it. I talked it over with Chris and he offered to replace it for free. Now that is customer service!!!
