What is Computers Count?
Computers Count is a 501©(3) exclusively charitable organization operating in New Jersey, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Computers Count believes that access to technology provides new opportunities for students to succeed both academically and in the workforce. In support of this belief, the Computers Count team collects donated computer hardware, refurbishes and upgrades these computers when necessary, and then distributes these computers to schools and 501©(3) non-profit organizations supporting education in New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

History
Established in 2011.
Consumer technology today is advancing faster than ever before, with newer and more powerful product models appearing monthly. When all of these new computers enter the market, what happens to older (but still functional) machines? All too often, they are physically destroyed due to fear of identity theft and then thrown away. At the same time many economically disadvantaged schools and dedicated local non-profits are unable to provide children with the very resources that are getting thrown away.
Computers Count was recently founded by a team of passionate individuals who believe that there is a better way. We take your older computer, scrub your hard drive clean, upgrade your computer when necessary, and then donate your computer to a partnering organization in need.
