Don;t forget to read the story at the end :) This place disappointed me so much ! Let me start from the good side — Very good food, probably one of the best American Chinese food I ever had. Very good soups, brown sauce really good, fresh vegetables, fresh broccoli which is rare in Kosher Restaurants due to Kasrus requirements. There is a lot of things that makes this restaurant the worst experience you can imagine with one of the best american chinese type food you can get with Chasher. Service in this place is not only a bad experience, it is just disgusting. Busboys are the nicest people there, they clean and helpful, the wait stuff is the problem and management. I’ve seen dirty hands, I’ve seen finger in the plate with my food. The waitress was very rude, every question was answered with attitude and with message: give me a break. This is very annoying when you hear foreign language, laugh and pointing on people in the restaurant. Even if you don;t understand you know they are making fun of people and talking some trash. Zero smile, zero nice attitude. Pay and go ! In this place you never right, you are always wrong ! I went there 4 times with family and finally we got to the point where we divided never again food is good but I’m telling you service in this place can turn your family diner/lunch experience in the the nightmare. I was a chef and manager in big restaurant for 11 years, I do know how the restaurant business works, I do know BOH, I do know inside joke, I do know how your stuff should talk to clients, I do know how your stuff should look like and behave. My ques is that wait stuff is a one big family there, nobody can be fired, nobody can get suspension or «bad tables section» Now listen to this… Prices there are not bad, prices are really are where they should be for this type of food. Nice lunch, me my wife and my daughter, With appetizers, soups $ 37. I got the bill, I gave my credit card, I signed receipt. We are at the door to leave the place, from nowhere I’m pulled by the arm: HOLDON! What’s going on? Was everything ok? Why you didn’t leave TIP? I asked what to you mean I didn’t leave tip? Look there is nothing on the receipt in the tip spot. I said… look under… There was a $ 200 bill, because I do tip people in the restaurant always 35%-50% due to my experience with restaurant business for many many years… I always leave cash tip because for many reason it works better for wait stuff :) In this situation I was embarrassed by screening waitress, pretty much a front of the whole restaurant because it is a small place. No nobody apologized :) Just to make it clear It wasn’t my last visit :) I gave them 2 more chances :) I gave up after manager and waiters said to me and family that we can move to different table or leave if we don’t like that lady next to us is on the phone and the whole restaurant could listen to her story about massage and medical conditions :) Food: 8⁄10 Prices: 9⁄10 Experience 0⁄10

This place offers delectable and delightful and wonderful cuisine. The management or staff which are always extremely professional and polite add to how wonderful the atmosphere here is. Is there a few other restaurants in the area let alone the Northeast with such amazing cuisine and encouraging atmosphere. I am extremely grateful for the amazing meals that I have had here and hope that these meals will never end

I do like the food here, but be warned that management will try to take advantage of you. For starters, I generally come to the restaurant at the beginning of lunchtime when the restaurant is empty and I am always directed to the table nearest the bathroom, kitchen, washing sink and busboy area. I always look around at all the empty tables and ask to sit somewhere quieter and with less traffic. You need to speak up here, because management likes to fill the worst tables first. You are not treated well even when the place is empty. Today I had a particularly loathsome experience that moved me to write my first Unilocal review. I called and ordered the lunch special at 2:30 and said I was going to pick up the lunch after 3 and that’s why I was phoning in the lunch order. At 3, the end of «lunchtime», I called to say that I was running very late, but that I absolutely was coming for my order and not to discard it. The manager said, «don’t worry, it will be here. Thanks for calling.» When I got to the restaurant, the manager raised the price of my now cold meal by more than $ 4 because sitting under the front counter in the completely empty restaurant(it was between mealtimes) my very same meal portion matured from a lunch special into the dinner combo. The price increased about 45% from $ 9.75 to about $ 13.95 when the food was essentially leftovers. After expressing shock, the manager reinstated the price of meal when it was fresh. But the experience was sour. In the long run, this kind of management does not encourage repeat business. Funny footnote, the restaurant was completely empty, a patron was directed to that table nearest the bathroom, kitchen, washing sink, busboy area! So predictable. Instead of annoyance, perhaps we should applaud management’s chutzpah!

Been coming here for years when close enough to swing by. Extremely good service and food. Had chance to try many different dishes and liked them all — even when reheating leftovers. The service is fast, welcoming, courteous and helpful. If traveling and you like Chinese food, this is worth the stop.

The nicest place you will ever go!!! The food is amazing, the service is like no other, you will not find a place that has better service than David Chu’s. They will bend over backward to make sure you are enjoying your meal. Once you’ve been there a couple of times, they know you by name, and they ask you how you’re doing, and the great thing is, they really want to know, they are not just asking to be polite. I would have business meetings there, everything is perfect!!! Thanks David Chu’s for having a nice place to eat and enjoy!

The food is good, but often drenched in sauce. I often feel like they are just infecting me with salt, sugar, and msg while I’m there. The duck is the best I’ve had though. Customer service isn’t bad, but I wish they would spruce the place up a bit. It looks like they decorated in the 80s and then never changed anything.

We have been eating there for at least 5 years now. We drive the 45 minutes to the location even though there is another kosher Chinese restaurant about 12 miles from our house. The service and the food has always been good and the prices reasonable, and the staff always great. I give them 5 stars all around and will continue going there. We have taken people there who didn’t care about kosher food but really liked it and wanted to go back, even though there wasn’t any shrimp.

Delicious chinese food! I would recomend that they improve their eggrolls though, but otherwise one of the best

Very accommodating — They are normally not open Motzei Shabbos but we were driving by after having gone to another Kosher Chinese Restaurant which was closed. They offered to make take-out food for us. Going the extra mile is what service is about

A kosher food option in pikesville. We had nice service but the food was lacking. Our pupu platter of assorted rid bits(beef skewers, chicken wings etc) was very overcooked along with my orange chicken. Prices are slightly higher due to the fact that everything is kosher here. I’m going to give this place another try but instead I would recommend fortune China in owings mills(as long as you are not kosher).

Came for dinner. Food was great and the service was good. They are attentive to your needs. The portions are very generous. I would recommend this Kosher restaurant.

This is kosher restaurant which because it kosher it gets away with bad service. I had a take out order I placed and I had to wait about 45 minutes. I paid and when I left and went home I found that they had forgotten to give me all my food. So I called and asked and they said oh yeh you food is here why don’t you come and get it. Not even a one sorry just here is you food and that was it. The food ok and the that about it, it is said to say that this place make it because it is inexpensive and decent food but service is bad.

Excellent food! Everything I’ve ordered has been incredibly delicious and tastes very fresh. I’ve only ordered takeout so I can’t comment on service per se, but I highly recommend this place.

We used David Chus for our rehearsal dinner for about 160 guests. We had a very large order with many specific instructions on what to include. When they delivered the food, they included everything we asked for and more. The food was also incredible and everyone was raving about it. I highly recommend them for large functions!

Great Kosher Chinese. 90% of the time the food is hot and delicious. It gets really busy after Shabbos, so I would recommend that if you want some get takeout and order early.

Came in for lunch with a friend who’s raved about this place in the past. I got the mixed veggie lunch for $ 9, which came with soup and fried rice. The chicken and corn soup isn’t bad. The mixed veggies were good, but it was oily. The fried rice was the winner in the line up. Not a bad lunch! The parking however is tight and can be hard to get in and out of.

One of the best kosher Chinese restaurants I’ve ever eaten in; scallion pancakes were memorable, and it had a traditional, old-style Cantonese feel. I visited in the winter of 2012, and it was the best kosher restaurant in Baltimore, from my recollection.

The Good: Great food. I’ve had non-kosher Chinese food, and David Chu’s is just as good! Their fried rice is great, as are their soups. Even their french fries aren’t bad. I’ve brought plenty of non-Jewish friends here who have loved it. The Bad: I really, really wish that they had a few healthy options. I always leave David Chu’s feeling bloated and gross. The sushi isn’t gross, it’s just not very good. The service is slow, especially if you’re with a big group, but if it’s just one or two people it’s great. Takeout always efficient, though. Beware of going the night before Jewish holidays – it’s usually packed. The Ugly: Their parking lot isn’t so great, it’s only functional and safe if there is only one other car there.

I just moved out to Baltimore a few weeks ago from Owings Mills and had never tried this place. I heard good things from others so I decided to give it a shot. You cannot go wrong with kosher AND Chinese food; two of my favorite things. I couldn’t wait to eat! There was ample parking for around lunch time at 1pm. I was told that the lunch special was the way to go. I entered and spoke to the hostess, telling her it was my first time here and that I’d like to see a menu. She obliged and handed me one. The selection and variety on the menu were great and I saw the lunch time special deals. At that point, I decided to take a seat. I was greeted by the busboy as he brought over hot tea and poured water for me. The server stopped over soon after and I ordered the chicken lo mein lunch special. It came with a choice of vegetarian egg roll or soup plus a choice of rice. I decided on the chicken wonton soup which was nice and hot, and white rice. Before the soup was delivered, I received hard noodles, which is another great part of Chinese places. The lo mein and white rice was delicious; although the lo mein didn’t have many vegetables, just a lot of onions. The chicken was very tender, not chewy at all. They give you a good sized portion for your money, covering the plate and served with a big spoon. My water glass was also refilled multiple times which shows they pay attention even if it wasn’t very busy; so working in a restaurant myself, I was glad to see that. I had no room left for dessert, but did receive my fortune cookie. Overall, I had a good experience; great food and I would definitely return. May even bring a date next time!

Love this place! Great Chinese food. A wee bit more expensive than some other places, but worth it. Much better quality. I usually get it as take out, but the restaurant is very nice for a sit-down dinner. Wait staff is very friendly, too. I am a big fan of their chicken lo mein and hot & sour soup.
