Great specialty grocery store in Baltimore. They carry lots of interesting local products and put on fun events such as their annual Grill Fest! They carry specialty foods that we like a lot, including great cooking and grilling sauces including ours, Ketchung! .

Some of the reviews complain about high prices. What would you expect from a tiny grocery store in Roland Park? People come here for the outstanding customer service, convenience, and the deli. In what other grocery store does the staff wear formal dress? The rare roast beef from the deli is excellent. This is a Baltimore icon.

I love Eddies, it’s a specialty food store for me, prepared food is the best around. The deli«COSMO» sandwich is great. This one sells booze in store(not on sunday except December I think), cheapest in the neighborhood. BONUS: its across from the awesome Roland Park library.

I don’t know anything about groceries but I do know about Scotch and service both of which reside here in abundance. It’s not as big as Wine Source or North Charles Fine Wines but during their«Summer of Scotch» you can sample a different Scotch every day. Guided by the friendly and knowledgeable staff you can taste and learn and make friends with distillates from 4 – 7 Monday through Saturday. I have found some new favorites along with some great wines and beers. Bravo Eddie’s, great idea. See you in July.

Mary, the personal shopper, and the delivery service are amazing!!! They do same day delivery, which has been a huge help since I’ve been home with a sick child all week. And Mary went above and beyond to pick out flowers, candy, and a balloon so that my daughter got to have a Valentine’s Day surprise.

I used to go here with my Grandma when she was alive and living in the Roland Park area. I frequent the banks here so I like to stop into Eddie’s every now and again to get groceries. The staff is always friendly, the produce and merchandise is organized, and the prices aren’t outrageous despite being an upscale grocer. The sandwiches aren’t my favorite but I would go back and get another just to try different ones. I got the Roland Park Country School(insipid Ciabatta, pesto, mozzarella, red onion, and tomato) and it just wasn’t good. I wolfed it down anyway but I wanted the bread to have more flavor and not have the consistency of coffee cake. Parking is street or metered.

The customer service here is outstanding! It has a wonderful family owned charm! The prices are a bit higher as you would expect, but for a small local family owned grocery store the selection is very good. Additionally their wine and spirits sectioned is manned by a very knowledgeable and helpful person. This place is very kid friendly and my daughter has been given a free cookie about 80% of the time. Clearly she would provide a favorable reviews as well. Hahah

The one star is because I couldn’t give it zero stars. This place is 1 mile away from my place yet I stopped going there many years ago, because of several reasons amongst them the biggest was high prices for sub standard food . A few years ago I finally stopped going when I bought a big cake to take to someone’s get together and just when we were going to sing happy birthday the hostess noticed a huge fly on the cake. Needless to say it wasn’t a happy birthday after that. I was embarrassed I called the store they listened politely and told me a manager would contact us. A manager did contact us and gave us a refund. Yet the experience left an awful taste in our mouth(and we didn’t even taste the cake !!!) Today after 3 years I entered the store again because I wanted radishes for salad and a few potatoes(I was cooking dinner tonight) i had forgotten to stop at Trader Joes. I was in a hurry so I grabbed the two items and left. On coming home I found that the radishes in the bag were really bad and un edible I have taken a picture I hope I can post it . Basically the place remains un changed sub standard food at high prices . Well to do people who like to shop in a store that is over staffed love this place. My recommendation go to Trader Joes which is 3 miles away.

Kinda like the corner grocery stores run by Koreans that you see downtown: the packaging is small and the prices are high. Try and find a 12 roll pack of toilet paper or a family size box of cereal in this place. Everything is Über-expensive. But, on the plus side, they are polite when they are taking your $.

Eddie’s just does everything right. Yesterday was my second catering order and they went above and beyond to make sure that my order was both accurate and fresh without losing anything in the presentation(part of my order was sliced Granny Smith apples and was worried about browning, but they got it together flawlessly). And when I went to pick everything up and didn’t have enough hands to handle it all, a kind employee was nice enough to wheel a cart all the way around the block to my car and help me load up. I love Eddie’s, especially this location. So happy I can count on them when I need something catered right.

This location has many food options to choose from. There is a deli area where you can order hot food and sandwiches. There is also a salad bar with fresh selections of food items. There are also freshly made salads, sushi, sandwiches that people can go for a quick to go meal. On top of that, there is a connected liquor/wine area for those that want a one stop shop for food and drink. There is ample street parking(pay to park) that makes it quite convenient to get in and get out. If I am ever in the area, I would definitely come back!

I like this store since they are old fashioned and will cater to you, I wanted coconut cake(John Waters endorsed it in the New York Times) and they cut me a slice, special. They have plenty of made in MD goodies, like Berger cookies and Zekes coffee so that is awesome. they have wine and tons of speciality goods. It is not cheap, seems to be a markup on pretty much everything, but it is super convenient. My only gripe is the prepared food which is unappealingly piled up or you can buy it at the counter where a person without gloves will touch it before putting it in an unecological container. Don’t they regulate this kind of thing. A squash and cauliflower dish was vile(the cauliflower tasted like old over) but the london broil was divine. Could use some merchandising help, don’t just pile all the fresh food you have out on the floor it looks ewwy and makes you not want it.

Customer service is exceptional to the point of overkill. They open the door for every customer. Sorry, but I don’t care enough about that to see it reflected in my bill. Otherwise, no complaints. The deli is exceptional(the house turkey breast is liking eating a Thanksgiving turkey) and the bakery is fabulous too. A bit pricey.

I reluctantly dropped by Eddie’s today to pick up cilantro for my future mother in law. Now, I say reluctantly because last summer I had a bad experience there(prior to my Unilocaling days) that resulted in me not stepping foot inside until today, and I only stepped inside today because I was Jonesing for Starbucks and Eddie’s is next door. Eddie’s is a small locally owned HIGHEND grocer. They are essentially where rich people buy their groceries, which comes with it’s own set of tradeoffs. The positives: The lines will be short. They will be overstaffed and possibly over attentive They have a wide array of precooked meals in a display case They have high end cuts of meat They have a liquor store attached Well why the 2 star rating you ask? The negatives: The lines are short because Eddie’s has about a 50−100% markup for the same exact items as a Safeway or Giant. The cilantro that I purchased today cost me $ 1.99. My mother in law says that it’s normally $ 1.00 on an expensive day and can be found for $ 0.75. I likewise have noticed that their meats are INCREDIBLY marked up. Despite being overly staffed, I have actually not had many pleasant experiences. When I decided to stop going to Eddie’s originally, I was in Grad School working on my Master’s Thesis next door at Starbucks. I was hungry and decided to grab a sandwich from Eddie’s instead of eating Starbucks food. The deli counter is THESLOWEST I have ever experienced. I would estimate that they take about 10 minutes per customer(the downfall of being overly coddling to your customers). Now, being a college aged student wearing my Virginia Tech hoodie and looking kind of bummy — I was not the normal Eddie’s customer. The normal Eddie’s customer is the overly dressed 40 something housewife out to buy dinner at noon on a weekday, or a well off elderly couple. From the moment I stepped in, I had felt that I was getting looks of «What is he doing in here?» I was number 33. The man called number 30, I wait 10 minutes — number 31, another 10 minutes — number 32, another 10. The anxiety is now killing me. I’m supposed to be working, not wasting a half hour waiting for lunch. The man then looks at me and goes«Numbers 33, 34, 35» and a grandmotherly old woman without a moment of hesitation goes«I’M 34!» And shuffles to the counter as fast as she could. I was hungry and now pissed off, but I am not the sort of person to argue with a senior citizen. Instead, I requested to speak with a manager and told him my plight — he was sympathetic, offered to help and said that he would speak to the employee and offered to comp my lunch, but I refused and went elsewhere. I digress, their customer service despite being abundant, is lacking and IMO has the same chip on their shoulder as you would encounter at say a Neiman Marcus or some other high end specialty store when someone doesn’t look like their typical customer. Prior to that experience, I had been to Eddie’s two or three times. I purchased premade meals from their display and honestly, the food looks a lot better than it tastes. I would give those display case meals 2 stars at best. As for the other positives I listed — yeah they have those things there and it’s convenient, but the mark up on them is tremendous. UNLESSYOUARESOWEALTHYTHATYOUDON’T CAREABOUTYOURMONEY, THEN I WOULDAVOIDEDDIE’S.

This grocery store is on the way home from work, but I have noticed problems. Their fruit was bruised, overpriced, and inedible. I bought blackberries covered in mold, on sale. This is the only place I can obtain a lamb shank for Passover, so I respect the butcher. The prices are very high, but customer service is exceptional. I enjoyed their sandwiches but would have rather made them from home. My son wanted fruit cups, which were overpriced. Years ago, I considered purchasing a town home/B-more row house in the area, which was overpriced, and the sellers listed Eddies to overprice the price of their home.

Being from the DC area this kind of reminds me of Eastern Marketing meeting Georgetown, very nice and a little upscale — it’s super cute! All the locals go there and everybody knows each other oh and the most important part they have sooo much food! The outside is really nice, I walked up and the manager opens the door for everybody coming in — name another place that still does that! They have a huge selection of wine and liquor even a few things I’ve never seen before. They had a deli with some of the most delicious looking food, I have to go back to try some. Then I get to the other side of the store and they have a bakery and chocolate! Boyyy I was in heaven, I think I left the place drooling. They even had free samples! I got a little piece of apple cake… YUM! I know it’s just a supermarket but I’m jealous of the people who live in that neighborhood and go there on the regular, lol.

Locals may rave about this supermarket, but all I can remember about it from my time in Baltimore were the consistently higher prices compared to the chain stores. The customer service here may be nicer, but for me, it wasn’t worth the extra cost.

A small, community grocery store is always a nice addition to any neighborhood. Eddie’s is no exception. The prepared foods and deli selections. The sandwiches, all named after local landmarks and schools, are also fantastic. The power house(veg and Muenster), Provence(turkey/Havarti/cucumber on a baguette), and Cloak and Dagger(corned beef/Swiss/cole slaw on rye) are my personal favorites, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches here. Eddie’s also boasts a pretty decent wine and beer selection. The prices are pretty steep, so I only shop here if I need something in a pinch, need lunch to go, or if I’m looking for decent pre-made foods(they have everything from chicken salad to quesadillas to sesame noodle salad… all delicious). To add some extra convenience, you can register an account with Eddie’s and charge groceries to your account if you please. If you have some extra money to splurge on groceries, Eddie’s is your place to go.

A great place for if you need some little item in a pinch, or seek high quality deli items(for prices approximating those of Whole Foods). They can custom order things for you, which is helpful. Considering how often we are there, however, I am frustrated they don’t ever seriously entertain any of my suggestions for changes to what they carry on their shelves.

I’ve been stopping into Eddie’s since I was at Loyola and the sandwiches are still great. It’s a small market with somewhat reasonable prices and only gets crowded on the weekends(like most supermarkets). It’s also a great place to stop in for a coffee or tea and a sandwich. I prefer the turkey wrap with cranberry mayonnaise. Kind of pricey but very good.
