Embassy Suites by Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor

I have never ever been to a hotel and had to wait 3 hours before checking in a reserved room. Yet that is exactly the experience I’ve had here. My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary. We got here at 3:00 thinking that was the check in time and was told check in was at 4:00. That’s cool. What’s not cool is that it is nearly 6:00 and we still do not have a room. Along with about 100 other guests. Considering that we had dinner reservations at 6:30 this hotel has managed to screw up our wedding anniversary. So of course we looked on Unilocal and found this has happened to others here! This is the 2^nd time I’ve ever stayed at a Hilton owned hotel and both experiences have been terrible. Will never do it again. Marriott has got my business from now on. Save yourself the trouble and stay at the Renaissance or even the local Holiday Inn Express.

One of the worst hotels to stay at! We had reservations for weeks and when we came we had to wait to be checked in for 50 minutes on line. They over booked and didn’t have enough rooms. The lines were way to long and the staff was not apologetic. Went to swim at the pool and there was a birthday party celebration with over 25 kids in a tiny pool. No space to even dip your feet! Not to mention the building is old and the rooms are very outdated.
Very disappointed!

Stayed here about a month ago. It’s an old building converted to an embassy suites. I stay at embassy properties pretty often and this is why I chose this location. Overall I have very mixed feelings about the property.
1. It is not your typical embassy in terms of layout and you need to go in knowing that. You are limited in your space which again is a negative for me.
2. It seems that they are in a state of constant repair. I like the fact that they are keeping up with things but I walked into my room and they were touching up the paint. The good thing is that it didn’t smell and was only a small area.
3. The elevators are really slow and again this may be due to the older building. At times they seemed a little sketch.
Overall my group and I all agreed that we would not stay here again.

For an older hotel, I have to give Embassy Suites 4 stars. The rooms were nice and large and were clean. The daily complimentary happy hour was really nice. The free breakfast had many options for most people. The only complaint I have is the elevators are very slow when the hotel is busy. And they have a slightly bizarre weigh limit issue which seems to occur at random.

Breakfast was good with several selections except omlet chef was rude, may be he was tired too.

We stayed at this Embassy Suites Hilton which was in a great location. We flew in from Florida for our niece’s graduation from Johns Hopkins University. We arrived early and our room was ready and perfect. Everything was great. The hotel was beautiful and everything was very clean. They offered complimentary breakfast which was very nice. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious. Being a Hilton Honors member we received complimentary bottles upon arrival. We were able to choose our room on the online check in page which was great because we chose the top floor with a view of the city. The bed was very comfortable. Overall it was an absolutely great stay. We used Über to get around which was incredible! This was our first time using Über and we are hooked!

I would of loved to give this hotel 5 stars, but the front desk staff was sub-​par. They weren’t there half the time during the busy Preakness Day weekend, however the rest of the staff was great.
Aside from that, the room was cute. The beds were extremely comfortable, however the bathroom. I’ve seen better at a Holiday Inn… absolutely needs to be updated.

Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was very small. No vanity space. Food was great. But the elevators are the WORST I’ve ever encountered. 10 to 20 minute wait to get from rooms back to the lobby. At one point we finally walked down 16 flights (very steep, very narrow stairwell; attempt at your own risk) and on another we finally choose to ride up to the very top floor to get back down. So ask for a room on either a bottom floor or a top one.

Edit: The customer service was still strong and so it goes back to a four star. Yes, I was a bit indecisive; however, new things keep popping up. The continental breakfast was filled with hot foods and cold foods. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, made to order omlettes, etc. Cold foods: yogurt, cereal, and fruits. There was a wish by my sister that they would have cut fruits (pineapples, oranges, canatloupe etc.) So Embassy Suites is a bit better than a three star Holiday Inn, while still being three star.
After eating a huge breaktfast and fast (usually I have a bad habit of gobbling food), I had to get a Sprite from their bar to act like an anti acid. Turns out they had one Sprite left and they were going to charge me $ 2.25 The gal ended up giving it to me free. ++
The chef or kitchen cook (not sure), very attentive. Said good morning to all the people in the dining area and even had taken people, who had birthdays and recent marriages, and had everyone wish us. Felt very family oriented.
Over the last day or so, when I was coming to the business center, there was also a sign for a «Historic Venue». The rooms after, as you keeping following the hallway is literally something out of Hogwarts. There are all these different rooms, of course all unoccupied; however, the music playing in the background was so relaxing. I had to check it out or else, if I left this hotel, I probably would be getting nightmares of not knowing what was down the halls. Will definitely post pictures on Monday. Amazing!

First time I have been to an embassy suites; however, there were certain aspects that threw me off.
First off, the welcoming was great. My sister and I were able to get two complimentary waters (as if), water should be free. True that they could still charge on it, like at those hotels where they put water bottles on the table and you think they are free for the taking.
The hotel also has complimentary breakfasts and a managerial reception (kind of like a happy hour) and free appetizers at their 2^nd floor bar and restaurant. The one we went to had pretzel bites, salad, and chips with salsa. They also had an entire bowl of honey mustard to go with the pretzels.
They are a hotel that also provides free buffet complimentary breakfast (that I still have to check out and probably will not be able to update until tomorrow).
The room is nice, not really anything out of the ordinary from a Holiday Inn (two queen sizes, plasma t.v.) What was uncommon was the fact that if you keep going further, there is actually a kitchen right behind the wall. Counter with sink, fridge, microwave, etc. There is also a walk-​in closet to get to the bathroom; however, the bathroom is a bit small. I can reconfirm now that the bathroom is small. There is absolutely minimum space between the toilet and the shower. The toilet paper roll is really hard to get to (they need to have a government mandate on the minimum layout of a bathroom for people (people could end up having problems reaching and/​or squeezing themselves into small ones. There is also a medium sized brown blotch on the back of the door (normally I do not care about stains; however, bathroom… they need to update it, not just size wise). The walls look a bit worn and there are a few cracks.
They did provide me with a toothbrush (forgot mine at home) and toothpaste. That is always great. In the morning, they did have a comb and razor w/​shaving cream. Always a plus.
Business center is pretty nice, desktops with wide screens.
Earlier I said it threw me off a bit and that was basically due to the kitchen, the walk in closet, bathroom, and the fact that this hotel may have been 5 star. I am not sure if Embassy Suites IS actually a five star hotel; however, I am giving it a four, as of now, for this review. Good, but nothing spectacular. Edit: Embassy Suites is an expensive three star hotel (wow!). This hotel on trivago did not have a start rating surprisingly; however, it makes sense. It is more or less a Holiday Inn. Average price is $ 350/​night. Trivago has it around $ 150 per night. Two queens non suite

My friends and I had two rooms booked under my name at this hotel for early April for an event within the downtown area. Next day at checkout, the first lady I went to was quick and professional to print out an itemized receipt upon request for one of the rooms from our stay. Since the other group of my friends from the second room were running late for checkout, I went back in line again to discharge their room.
The second older lady (let’s call her Lady B) with glasses told me since I have gone through a 3^rd party to book the rooms, I need to request an itemized receipt from them (?). I stood there for a couple of seconds thinking she would look into other solutions but seeing she didn’t, made me immediately go back to the end of the line and return to the previous lady; it was a good thing I did because I found out valet did a double charge to the other room.
Before the lady proceeded to assist me, Lady B next to her repeated herself to her co-​worker: «I believe she booked the rooms through a 3^rd party». At that moment, I got irritated and couldn’t help but give a «your co-​worker can do her job, why can’t you?» glance in her direction. I couldn’t believe she would interrupt her co-​worker from doing her work and would rather draw attention to herself rather than attempting to find a solution. When the lady reconfirmed that my party and I were only booked for one night and removed the second charge, Lady B kept quiet. No apology whatsoever for not being able to provide help in any way with her challenged work abilities. I find that very embarrassing.
When tracking personal expenses, especially when traveling with a group, I find no harm in double checking to see if there are unknown charges made to my card to spare the time and frustration.
The purpose of these fun events occurring more frequently within Baltimore is to generate business within the restaurant, hotel, and other hot tourist-​spot scenes. If there were people like Lady B composing themselves in a concierge area with that attitude, my friends and I would have been more than happy to take our business elsewhere for better service. I’ve been to plenty hotels where I find it normal when colleagues ask each other questions if they’re unsure, but to tell co-​worker what you have said and loudly in front of me is rude.
I do, however, give big kudos to the other staff members that seem to be overlooked though because they were absolutely amiable, amazing, and even go beyond taking a minute of their busy work time to assist in a chaotic setting. They are truly the face of what it’s like to work in a hotel suites environment and that is the impression I want left in my mind when booking in the future within their hotel chain.
I travel frequently within a year and it can be off-​putting when a person is incompetent at their job. You are the face of the company and if you can’t handle a fast paced environment or a large wave of customers, I suggest working in the back somewhere you don’t have to directly deal with them, get retrained on company’s work values, or take your attitude elsewhere where it’s more acceptable.

We stayed here to celebrate a birthday so as a family we had several rooms. The rooms, staff and breakfast were all very good. The staff was very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and fresh smelling. The kitchenettes, furniture, bedding all very clean. The front desk was excellent. Very friendly, smiling and always spoke to us. I must have went in and out about 10 times in one day and always was greeted from the bellhop to the front desk, and I didn’t even go to the front desk! The breakfast staff was excellent, they could use another omelet station and another waffle make because of the long lines but the food was great. Always hot, fresh and replenished! Wonder staff for the size of this establishment! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting Inner Harbor. Did I tell you the staff was WONDERFUL!

This hotel is in a great location for events at Royal Farms Arena. The two bedroom suite gave us plenty of room. The staff is amazingly friendly especially Jess and Jay at the front desk. The breakfast buffet gives plenty of options. The downsides to this place is the elevators. There are four nice sized elevators but by the time a fourth person gets in some of them the buzzer is going off saying it is over full. They hold 2500 lbs so they were not full. This leads to a very long line waiting for an elevator especially right after an event lets out.

Awesome suite for a very reasonable price. Great staff and we will stay again when in Baltimore.

Where should I begin? First, the parking situation. The Embassay Suite charges $ 32 for parking and neglect to advise visitors that there is a parking structure immediately adjacent to their building that offers $ 6 if you go after 5 pm. That’s shade. I could see these rates not being advertised for their guests but visitors, that just foul. Next, the room that we visited was allegedly the «Presidential Suite». Umm… Not quite. The room had carpet that I’m sure was procured from a discount carpet warehouse. If this room was so «presidential» why not at least have hard wood floors. Hell, they could have at least had marble countertops at these rates. The view was ok. Although, most suites are equipped with thicker walls. You can hear each and every sound that came from the adjacent room. Frequently, we were forced to hear the cry of a baby and some kids who seriously lacked discipline. My friends were forced to leave the room due to noise complaints. Due to the amount that she was spending, it would seem that she could have received a courtesy call from the front desk. I hate to play the race card but the front desk called the police and she was forced to leave. It was a birthday function, which management was duly advised. In fact, she was moved to the Presidential Suite to have fewer neighbors. However, due to the lack of craftsmanship in the construction, surrounding patrons could hear EVERYTHING just as we could hear them. To add insult to injury, the cabinets in the bathroom fell off. I would NEVER stay here especially with the policy of eviction without warning. Then to send 4 officers. Everyone in the room were well educated, non violent, and had clean criminal histories. I have stayed at MANY Embassay Suites in my lifetime. This is the WORST experience ever!

I was here for an event (we hosted) in June. This hotel is a little bit away from the actual Inner Harbor tourist area. It is within walking distance as I did walk it. At check in there was no mention of the complimentary breakfast or free evening happy hour but I read it somewhere otherwise I would not have known about it.
My room was on the 17^th floor and pretty spacious. It was a double bed room with a sitting area and a desk. Pretty standard but was not cramped. I wish the pillows were firmer as I ended up stacking 2 – 3 to make it firmer. Personal preference so no big deal. As a business traveler the one thing I didn’t appreciate was that there was not a clock in the room. I use my phone for an alarm but I like to be able to just glance over and see what time it is and keep me on time (or close as possible lol). Another small annoyance is the auto scrolling tv guide on the TV and no printed channel list. Print outs are always appreciated or the option to page up/​down through the on screen guide. Kthanks.
The elevator seemed to be slow at times so plan accordingly.
So I was here for an event, as previously mentioned, and our event space (which I didn’t know ahead of time) was in a connected building. I had to go to the 5^th floor of the Embassy Suites, walk pas the business center and through the connected hallway where there was another elevator to take me to the 2^nd floor of the event space. Once at the event space the entrance was at the front of the room so I had to direct attendees through the room next door to find me at our check in table. This was the only way to navigate the space (trust me I tried to find another route and got lost). I ended up the night before our event making directional signs to assist our attendees in finding their way.
The event space is nice and they were going through a transition period with management and staff. It showed but our sales manager made sure we were taken care of and she went above and beyond for us unlike our banquets contact (ooops I wasn’t going to go there. let me stop). Thanks Crystal for your hard work for us! :-)

My husband and I were attending a concert in Baltimore. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Check-​in time wasn’t until 4pm, but I decided to take whatever room was available because I was traveling with an infant that needed a nap. My room was on the 26^th floor. It was big and spacious for the 3 of us. Starbucks in the building! Breakfast was a plus… but it is why I like the Embassy.
Cons: The room had minor cosmetic things that stood out (i.e. shoddy repair of the ceiling in the bathroom, the vent in the living room was dirty and looked as if it needed to be repaired).
The seat cushions in the breakfast area could use a simple upholstering. That would be a quick fix or simply replace them.
My suggestion to management is to take a look at the entire facility and make the minor changes. It will show us that attention to detail matters!

I went for a conference there this pass weekend. The employees were a Hugh help. The hotel was on point. The conference rooms were super cold. No matter who we asked they could not it warmer. The food was Delicious. The employees went above and beyond to get use what we needed.
Fyi the oatmeal raisin cookies were hot and YUMMMMMMY.

I’m currently here on business for 6 weeks and I feel like I’m right at home. The staff are amazing, hard workers. The rooms feel like tiny apartments with a kitchenette. The gym has a nice variety of things to do and there’s a little laundry room to do your own if you’d like. The best part after a long day: free happy hour!

Great location. Room was very clean and comfortable. Parking next door. There is a shuttle service available out front that got us where we needed to go. Walking distance to Inner Harbor. Some tasty food options in the area as well. Staff was very friendly. Stayed on a weekend so, the area wasn’t too crowded. Can imagine it would be bustling during the week.
Would stay here again.

Is there an option for no stars?
Seriously I’m that upset! My fiancé and I spent 6 nights in this hotel. The first night we stayed in a queen suite which unfortunately was situated right next to the elevator. All night long we heard banging and noise from the elevator. The walls were so thin we even heard people talking inside of the elevator! My 6 month old son was up crying all night and none of us got any sleep! The next morning we asked to be switched to a different room. We got a king suite on the 33^rd floor. The sound problem was better however every time we tried to use our keys to the room the doors would not unlock. We ended up having to go up and down the elevator 4 – 5 times to get «new keys» for the room (which with an infant and traveling up 33 floors was annoying!) we repeated this routine several times a day for 2 days. One of the days this almost caused us to miss the train to Washington DC that we needed to catch! On the 3^rd day I told the front desk the problem was not with the keys it was with the door lock. They said it probably needs the battery’s chanted and promised to get the changed while we were gone for the day. We arrived back at the hotel at 9:00 only to discover they never fixed the door! They promised to send some one ASAP. By 10:00 we were tired of waiting and went to bed only to have the repair man knock on the door at 10:30 waking us and our infant son up to change the batteries in the door. On top of all that the last 3 days of our stay our room was never refilled with clean towels or complimentary soaps. On our last day I went down to the harbor with the baby and returned to the room around 4:00pm wanting to give the baby a bath and lay him down for a nap only to discover the room had not even been cleaned… the bed was unmade, no soaps, no clean towels, dirty towels everywhere, and overflowing trash cans. I called down to the front desk 2 times only to be transferred to housekeeping both times and reach a voicemail. After 45 minutes of waiting for someone to come clean the room I went downstairs to personally talk to the front desk. They promised to send someone ASAP…15 minutes later they arrived. Unfortunately they left behind dirty towels in the bathroom and still did not refill the soaps.
I wish I could give this hotel a better rating… its location was perfect for us (walking distance to inner harbor and short taxi ride to train station). The beds were comfortable and rooms were large. Breakfast buffet was delicious. However on weekends they don’t open buffet up until 7:30 which meant large crowds of people stood in line waiting to get in and eat and once inside it was a disaster trying to get food. Not everyone sleeps in on the weekend and many people still have places they need to be! The breakfast should be open at 6 everyday of the week. Wifi internet is not free. they charge you $ 14.00 for Internet. They give you 2 free bottles of water on your first night but won’t replace them if your staying multiple nights. The bell boys were helpful and they flagged cabs quickly. The staff was friendly but with the problems we experienced here we will not be back! Sorry embassy suits this location disappointed us!

Overall a very nice hotel, I would recommend to travelers who will not be «overly» disappointed by hotels minor flaws.

My fiancée and I stayed here during our Poe sightseeing trip in Baltimore. Upon arrival the valet staff was very professional and did a damage inspection of our vehicle before parking.
Check in was pretty quick and easy (booked on
) but apparently they overbooked? and ended up giving us a free upgrade from a 1-​room king suite to a 2-​room king. So far everything was going well, the room was very nice and spacious. Things started to get a bit strange after that though. A few moments before we were going to leave for the evening someone else was trying to swipe into our door, not sure if he was at the wrong room or booked there as well but it was odd.
Upon our return to the room our keycards wouldn’t work on the door either and we had to take the elevator down 34 floors again to resolve the issue at the front desk which was handled quickly.
Overall we had a nice stay, and a great sleep. The bathroom was also very nice, a more luxurious shower would have been nice in a room like that but then again we did get a free upgrade. Overall a nice place to stay, great price too however some miscues by the staff made things a bit inconvenient but all in all very nice.

Not your typical Embassy Suites, this hotel is a reincarnation of an old downtown hotel and Embassy did a pretty good job. My only comments are that the fitness center is far too warm for exercise. This could be resolved by adding shades to the windows. Also, the restaurant where the Embassy Suites free breakfast is served is a bit cramped and dark, but hey IT’S FREE!!! The staff is very professional and friendly and the rates are usually reasonable. Parking, like most downtown hotels, isn’t convenient and costs $ 16 overnight.
All together this is a great place in Baltimore. It’s just a few blocks from Inner Harbor and neighborhood restaurants and bars.

I wish I could give half stars, because I would give this place 3.5 stars.

We had a wonderful 4 days staying here. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. The suites are very spacious & comfortable. I love this place and hope to visit again in the future

In town for Morgan State University’s Open House. Enjoyed my 2 day stay Thurs 4/​2-​Sat ⁴⁄₄. Cost for 2 days was $ 220 non suite on Expedia. 2 queen beds, fridge, microwave, sink. Parking is $ 32 a nite with valet or there is a parking garage right next to the hotel which was $ 16 a night. About 5 blocks (walking distance) to the Inner Harbor area.
The included breakfast buffet (eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, apple, orange and cranberry juice, made to order omelettes including egg white only and im sure i missed a few things) was well worth it and don’t forget the complimentary reception hour (530−730pm) aka FREE LIQUOR lol i had (amsterdam vodka and cranberry, hubby had bloody mary) also included were budweiser and i think coors beers.
Customer Service was good easy check in and out. Only complaint with service was my daughter called the front desk and said the clerk sounded a bit annoyed. But when we needed additional wash clothes they were brought up within 10 mins of calling the front desk and a clerk called to make sure we received them.
The only other complaint i have is the bathroom was a bit small. They could have lessened the size of the walk in closet and made a bigger bathroom. We did stay in a corner room so that may be the reason.
Neither complaint is enough to lose a star over 5 stars GREAT!!!

Top floors can hear the elevator cables rattling in the wall all night.
Restaurant food is disgusting. Left over uncooked bacon, and how can you screw up Mac and cheese? The have figured out a way. Worst hotel food ever.
Fitted sheets on mattress are all for thin mattresses so they come off on the corners.
Place, overall SUCKS
Got them to replace the sandwich and it was WORSE. Brown avacado and cheese that was hard and turkey roll was slippery meat.
The health dept should check this kitchen and close it down. The staff doesn’t seem to care.

I stayed here with my family for a wedding recently! We booked two rooms one king bed and one with two beds. That is not what we received! We got two kings instead!
Pros:
1. The hotel is connected to the grand venue which is where the wedding ceremony was taking place which was very convenient.
2. The breakfast was good! Many options and it was all you could eat ! Omelets could be made to order.
Cons:
1. The staff seemed very unfriendly and unwelcoming. They didn’t seem to care how the customer.
2. The room is spacious but, just okay! Nothin amazing.
3 only one elevator worked out of three
4 parking is 35 dollars or 16 at the garage but you have to pay each time. They don’t tell you about parking so just prepare yourself.
Overall it was okay

This place has really gone downhill in the past few years. The primary negative that is enough to keep me away for good is that apparently, now they charge $ 12 per night to access Wi-​Fi in the room. It’s 2015. Every other hotel out there has free Wi-​Fi. Never coming back due to that alone, unless it changes.
Other things bothered me less… giant dead cockroach on the floor last time; taking three minutes for the shower to warm up this time, over half the laundry facilities out of order, and the slowest elevators on the planet.
The only redeeming factors are the helpful and polite staff, free drinks and snacks during Happy Hour, and the free breakfast in the morning. But food is available anywhere. I’d no longer recommend staying here and don’t plan to again.

I spent time here for a friend’s birthday weekend. I think the accommodations were OK, but definitely not stellar.
The 2 suites she’d booked were of a decent size. The kitchenette was a bit cramped, but the dining and living area were more spacious. I appreciated the view of Baltimore from the 31^st floor, though. The bedroom and closet were spacious and nicely appointed. Overall they weren’t anything to write home about, but were well-​suited for our needs.
I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. We had a late breakfast on Sunday and really enjoyed the omelette station. The potatoes were remarkably good! They also had other common foods like bacon, sausage, scrambled and hard-​boiled eggs, cereal and fruits. It was definitely better than most complimentary breakfasts I see at hotels.
My biggest gripe was with the elevators. They are terribly slow. The elevator bank has 4 but only 2 seemed to operate during the time we were there. They should get that checked out.
The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but there is a public garage a few steps down from it. It’s directly to the left of the hotel. The price wasn’t bad — I was there all day and only paid $ 5.
Overall, it’s not bad. Again, it’s not the greatest, but it gets the job done.
