This is a well hidden gem of a diner. Fast, friendly service and ample portions. After you have been there twice they already know you. The seating is somewhat limited but Ive never had to wait. I had the GI omelette, but I dont know if it means military GI or gastrointestinal, because it is huge. Three eggs, loaded(stuffed) with potatoes and other goodies. Then they smother it with sausage gravy or chipped beef gravy. Oh my. Likely not the healthiest choice but delicious. Really nice people. They took outr picture and put it on the wall.

My friends and I were staying at an AirBnB about 10 min from here, and needed a good greasy spoon the morning after bar hopping. This place hit the spot and was exactly what we were looking for. The prices were great and the food was tasty.

This place has the best and most reasonable breakfast in South Baltimore. Nothing particularly special on the menu, just your basic food. The restaurant is spotless, even the mirrors look like they had been cleaned recently. All the servers are attentive and the service is very fast. Give it a try.

This«hungry man» ordered the«happy girl» and was not disappointed. Healthy portion of bacon on top of the sandwich really sealed the deal. Me and my still functional arteries will be returning very soon.

Love everything about this place! The food is always amazing and the staff is super friendly. The prices are very fair and there are a ton of options on the menu. The service is also very quick! The coffee is some of the best I have had. I have friends that come over from Canton just to get the coffee. We go at least twice a month and will continue to return.

This is my first review but I felt I had to as I was so put off by this place. I asked for a coffee and they said small medium or large, that confused me because it’s a diner, I said a mug. They asked cream or sugar, I said yes please and they poured the cream in my coffee? When has that ever been a thing. The coffee was far from hot and terrible. After looking at the menu it was standard diner fare, eggs pancakes French toast. I was at the counter looking at the menu, and a cook stood 6inches from my face at the prep table in front of me, I was the only person in the restaurant, not sure why he didn’t choose another area. I was weirded out by the whole place so I left without ordering, can’t speak to the quality of the food but everything screamed cheap, I promptly threw out the coffee after I left. This review seems very primodonna, but if you’re in the mood for a simple egg based breakfast their redeeming quality is they offer that, but I’d choose elsewhere to go.

Don’t let the name deceive you. It’s korean owned, but it’s not chinese or asian cuisine in any way! It’s an all American diner and a yummy one at that! I’m always a fan of hole-in-the-wall food places. This is definitely one of them. There seems to be a lot of locals that frequent here, like some of the other Unilocalers stated. I love that«Cheers» environment, very homey and the owners seem really nice too! Food was great! Lots of dishes to choose from and some fun signature dishes. Also the prices are awesome for the serving portions they give you! I’m definitely a breakfast person, but they have sandwiches too! If anything you must try the breakfast burritos or their omelettes! :) They’re only open until 5p so make sure you get yours before then!

We have breakfast there every Sat — if you want a place where the owners remember your name and what you drink — a place where they put your pic on their walls — a place with simple but well prepared food at a good price — this is it. If however you want a hovering wait staff and to never see the bottom of your coffee cup or you’re afraid of locals — go somewhere else.

Fantastic place! I come here for breakfast all the time. The staff is super friendly and it’s a family run business. They’re they type of people who will remember you if you have conversation with them. The food is so delicious and the portions are huge. They get my food right every single time and I’ve been here at least a dozen times by now. The pancakes are extremely fluffy(and giant), the eggs are done perfectly, the french toast is yum, the home fries are great, and they never skimp on the meat. The coffee is also delicious. And did I mention that it’s cheap? I have never left with my stomach or wallet feeling empty. The interior may look a bit run down but the tables and bathrooms are clean. There are always a lot of locals here which I think is a good sign as well. The hours can be kind of weird(and they’re unfortunately closed on Sundays) so make sure you call or look at the hours on Unilocal before heading over.

I’ve been living 3 blocks from this place for almost 3 years now and I’m just now coming in. While some may say you shouldn’t review after 1 visit, I believe first impressions are important; especially if you’re just looking for a one-time stop to eat. That being said, here’s my experience: Atmosphere — The first impression when you walk in is a bit strange. It’s a pseudo diner/dive bar/corner store. I walked straight past the counter where people were buying cigarettes, sodas, and other conveniences and sat at the bar top. I was greeted by the Korean couple running the place and my order was taken when I was ready. While I was looking over the menu, I noticed the side conversations going on between the owners and the guests. This is definitely a locals joint; which is not uncommon in Federal Hill. It’s always a good sign when you can tell people keep coming back. Service — Not too much to say here. It wasn’t awful by any means, but it wasn’t great either. I was greeted, my order was taken quickly, then I got my food just a few minutes later. After I received my food, I was basically ignored. I’m not taking too many points off for this as I didn’t need anything and if I did I could easily have got my server’s attention. One thing of note: After I finished eating, I stacked my plates and began writing this review thinking I needed to pay at the front counter. About 5 minutes later, a bill is given to me. It just seemed like an unusually long wait to get my bill. Particularly when the joint was basically empty and I was at the bar top. The Food — I came in for breakfast and was not disappointed. I wasn’t floored, but I can definitely see myself craving to come back. The menu is rather extensive. It seemed like they had a number of options for every meal of the day. I eventually decided on the Corn Beef Hash w/home fries, eggs, and toast(picture uploaded). It was basically what I expected. Good and big. I’m a pretty big guy and I was definitely satisfied with the portion size. Looking around at what others were eating, I’d say large portions are the norm. One improvement that could be made is in their hot sauce selection. I was offered hot sauce when my order was ready and came to find they only have Frank’s Red Hot. I like the stuff and added good flavor to my food, but if you’re looking for heat then it won’t cut it for most. They should definitely invest in some Sriracha. For the size of my meal + a small coffee(which wasn’t great. Diner coffee.) my bill came to $ 9.48. Not terribly cheap, but no complaints. About what I expected. Final Verdict — I liked the place. It was good, not expensive, service was sufficient and efficient. This is a no frills place, but if you were looking for an experience then you probably wouldn’t have walked in here to begin with. I would give 3.5 stars if I could, but it’s not quite a 4-star place. I’ll definitely be back for a quick bite and to try more of the menu.

The restaurant recently went into new management and so the menu is a bit different and doesn’t contain special names for their food. But! The service is friendly and although the place is run by Koreans… they are the nicest Koreans ever. They are ambitious on trying to make new things and are not afraid to start a conversation with you, even though it’s not their first language. They work very hard and the food does not taste like garbage. Serve fresh and warm. If you want to meet the locals… a good place to meet them! A very diner-like experience. A good place to have a piece of fed hill!

Garden Restaurant is a locals only establishment, and by locals only I mean«locals living within 2 blocks and not having transportation somewhere better» frequent this place. It’s located on a very busy corner, going from most of Baltimore to the Shopper’s Food Warehouse, you’re going to make a turn in front of this restaurant. I’d seen the place for years and years and never ventured inside. For some reason I always thought the place served chinese food, but I was wrong. In keeping with my motto to «boldly go,» I gave this place a shot late one night. It’s basically a corner bar/lounge, very smoky, vinyl seats like your grandma’s kitchen used to have, the place reeks of stale cigarette smoke. But you know what? If you’re looking for some quick eat in the early morning hours, you actually can’t go all that wrong by stopping in and grabbing an egg sandwich(To Go). :) For their decent egg sandwhich, I bumped them up a star.
