Boo. They closed! A ramen place is supposed to replace it. Hope it is good Bc Ikan left a significant hole in my heart – or belly?

Best sushi in all of Baltimore. The menu isn’t gigantically extensive but they have all the standards. Hands down, the best crunchy spicy tuna I’ve ever had.

(03/03/2012) I don’t get to Belevedere Square often enough. Had a nice calamari salad from the convenience case for lunch($ 5.50 for about 4 oz.). Squid was chewy, somwhat fishy, sweet-tart with rice wine vinegar, crunchy with bits of green and brown kelp and piquant from shreds of pickled ginger. The market was bustling on a Saturday afternoon, nice place to pick up great local specialties and delicacies.

I used to really love Ikan in college, but the quality of the sushi has seemed to decrease. I love how they have mainly all traditional rolls without any thrills but the rolls I had weren’t wrapped very tightly. I’d give Ikan another try but don’t expect some GREAT sushi here.

This is some bomb sushi hidden away in the Belvedere Square market. It’s currently my favorite lite lunch spot. Love the maguro nigiri & sunomono. Reminds me of San Francisco.
