History
Established in 2010.
Back in 2009, Rich Pugh was looking to open a small Neapolitan wood-fired brick oven pizzeria. After searching for several locations, a friend mentioned a local spot that had just closed its doors. The current location, once neighborhood bar «Kelly’s», presented itself as an opportunity to still offer similar style pizza but also serve as a local neighborhood tavern. He called on his long time friend Steve Ball who had been in the bar/restaurant business for several years down in DC and asked if he wanted to move to Baltimore and open a Bar/Pizzeria. He did so and took on the partnership. Without the wood fired brick oven, the pizza wouldn’t quite be Neapolitan but they coined it «Baltipolitan» and wanted to offer it with a a wonderful variety of select beers, wines and other menu items to compliment the casual atmosphere. They opened their doors on July 28, 2010 and have received several awards, magazine reviews and many other accolades on their success in the 3 years of operation.
