What is known today as Kinkz Coilz N Curlz started as a mobile salon in September 2010. With Ayana’s background in cosmetology and the quality of service she provides, she quickly outgrew the mobile setting and sought a more stable environment. Ayana landed at one of the most well-​known salons in the region where she was able to network with other talented stylists, hone her skills and build a diverse and loyal clientele. She coined the phrase, «Kinks Coils and Curls», changed the S’s to Zs to incorporate the versatility of African American hair (from A to Z) into her business name.
