Mr. B’s Tattoos

A few months ago I went to a piercing shop that will not be named and got a piercing «down there». The girl who pierced me said she was very experienced but pierced me with too small of a gauge and bar. It started to sink into my skin and was rubbing a very sensitive area raw. I was recommended Mr. B’s from a friend and made an emergency trip to see AL to have it looked at. He checked me out and with some pain and discomfort (mainly becuse of the area and soreness) he gauged up my piercing to the correct gauge and bar and handed me the little one she placed in me and said, «I’m sorry but she should have not done that to you! Honestly, if i was you, you should take that to her and tell her to shove it up her a**!» Lmao. His personality is awesome. He said it was no charge for correcting poor work. I thanked him and tipped him nicely.
My piercing healed up like it should have and I was so happy with it that I stopped in again to get my smiley done. I love it. It was a bit awkward holding my lip up but he pierced me quickly and with ease. He put a horseshoe shaped bar, but it was swinging, irritsting my gums ans teeth. A few days later I wen back and had it replaced to a circle. Which was again on the house. I tipped him for his work. I like this a lot better.
I highly recommend Al! He’s a wonderful piercer with a lot of experience and a great personality. Please don’t go anywhere else.

2 weeks ago on a Tuesday me and my boyfriend went in to set an appointment to start a sleeve to honor his sister after she had passed. Jonathan the tattoo artist made an appointment for us for that Sunday. We put down a $ 50 deposit. He asked my boyfriend to send him pictures and an email describing what he wanted which he did it was in complete detail anyone could of figured out what he wanted from that email even if he didn’t send the pictures. So on Sunday my bf receives an email from this guy stating that he called out and was sick an hour before we were suppose to be there. My bf was very upset. So we went up there to go get a refund of the $ 50. They require you to put a deposit to make sure you show and so they can start the drawing which we understand, Well when we got there the guy at the front greeted us and we told him we were there because we wanted a refund since Jonathan called out and couldn’t do our tattoo that day, well needless to say he goes «oh Jonathan is here» He calls up the stairs and guess who comes down Johnathan. i thought he called out sick (NOT) well my bf was like man what happened he said his «belly» hurt and couldn’t sit that long. Than stated he never received the email if he never received that email than why did he reply to my bf on that same email Lie number 2. Than states with an attitude people get sick, He was very rude and disrespectful. Than stated he never received the pictures of the tattoo and that’s why he was not ready so which story is true. Still haven’t seem to figure that out. My theory is that he couldn’t do the type of tattoo my bf wanted and was scared because of the sentimental value behind it but if that’s the case man up and say you cant do the tattoo that will gain you some respect not some bullshit stories that you come up with that aren’t consistent, So my theory is go to this tattoo shop if you want to be lied to and your appointment broken. Thank god we found some one that actually can do the work and wants to do it and is not gonna fake sick because they don’t know how to do the tattoo. Mr. B’s you lost business on a full sleeve tattoo and trust and believe we will be telling our friends and family not to come to Jonathan.

Got my belly pierced by Mr Al and I didn’t feel a thing. Also I have had tattoos done by Michelle and Jay and their work is amazing. I would highly recommend Mr. B’s to anyone.

I’ve contemplating getting my nose pierced for the last year and final thought one weekend, «what the heck, I’ll do it.» I did a little research and came across Mr. B’s in the Baltimore area. Because I’m a Unilocaler, I did some searching and thought this place might be fine. I also searched the DC area and obviously found reviews that were much better but the idea of driving out of my way for a nose piercing may not be necessary. I thought, «who could mess up a nose piercing.» So I decided to go with Mr. B’s to get a needle stuck in my nose. I specifically asked for Al based on the Unilocal reviews and he set me up for my piercing. The waiver was given to me with no details so I just read through it and signed. I went back to the piercing area and it was quick and simple with a temporary sharp pain. The care instructions I was given were very vague so I asked a few questions. I went home to do my own research for care. After a few days of having my nose pierced, I noticed the stud was starting to sink into my nose. The next day it was completely embedded into my skin. I panicked and called the shop. Upon arrival, he just stated that I was sleeping on it. I don’t sleep on my nose but ok, whatever. He decided to replace it with a different stud. I read this could be risk but I went with it and ensured I took the proper steps to care for the piercing. It’s been 4 weeks now and my piercing is doing well. I always clean my piercing at least 2 times per day and purchased extra salt to continue caring for it. I also ordered the H2Ocean spray because I heard it helps with healing. I am pleased to say it was a great purchase. Overall, my experience at Mr. Bs was ok. Al was nice, didn’t say much but he made sure I was ok as he walked me through the piercing process. I think I will go elsewhere to get my nose ring changed.

Went here on a whim a few years ago for a tattoo. I have a lot of tattoos (10 or 11) and this is the only shop I’ve been to where my skin/​tattoo has welted after the tattoo. I’m not sure if the artist I went to had a heavier hand than the other artists I’ve seen, but my tattoo was really small and I’ve never had that happen to me before. Even though this shop seems to be a popular choice for others, I will not be back. Positives is that the staff was very friendly

I decided to try Mr. B’s for my next tattoo because I wanted to go someplace local. This is right up the street. I walked in on a Sunday and Jay decided he would take me. Apparently they were rather booked, but he had a cancellation and squeezed me in, I just had to go back in about an hour. I was getting a small set of paw prints on my arm near my wrist. He quoted me $ 80-​$ 120 depending on the size and I agreed. I showed up an hour later and admittedly had a rather long wait time. He finally showed me the prints, I agreed on a smaller size and we were set. I should have confirmed price before he actually started tattooing, but it slipped my mind. He finished my tattoo in 20 minutes and I was thrilled. Until I walked up to the counter and he charged me $ 150. I was so caught off guard, I just stood there for a second and couldn’t even think straight. Rather than getting into a confrontation, I just paid it. Four months later this still bothers me. My tattoo was so small (and all black) that I expected it to be closer to the $ 80 I was quoted — instead I paid nearly double. The size I agreed on was even SMALLER than what he had originally drawn up for me. Live and learn — ALWAYS confirm price after design is agreed on and before tattooing starts. This was my fifth tattoo though and I’d never had the price nearly double after being quoted something, so I just thought he’d stick to his original price. I honestly am still undecided if I will return here for my next tattoo. My husband already said he will not as he felt I was ripped off.

Al was amazing with my piercing. He walked me through the whole process and took the time to explain the aftercare. Once I was healed, he even helped me with my first jewelry change. I would highly recommend this shop.

Jon Jon Jon Jon Jon… My artist– he’s more like a part of my family now. My journey with Lupus led me to him. I would break out in rashes during my earliest flare ups, scratching and picking to the point of being left with brown scarring all over– I was crushed– each day I looked at myself depressed feeling took over me — I can’t recall what prompted me to look for an artist but Mr B’s was top on my list — I heard about them randomly and it stuck– so it was my luck to walk thru the doors and meet Jon — he’s just cool to start– he listened to my story– he never made me feel ashamed– he kept my session private– I was pretty fragile at the time and he never just did any old thing– I didn’t want just some Random tattoo– I wanted coverage– I wanted shape — I didn’t want to lose my femininity– I didn’t want a lot of color do to the hyper pigmentation and I wasn’t sure If color would make the work look trashy so we decided to do a lot of grey — black shading — I’ve been working with Jon over 3 years now– as I said he’s more like family and I’m beyond happy that I found him at Mr B’s

My first time at this shop and not my last! Al did my piercing and was very patient and answered all my questions and concerns. He got right to the piercing and it came out perfect. Along with my piercing they gave salt, a cup, aftercare directions and he told me to come back if there were any problems and they would do what they could to fix it!

I decided to get my nose pierced on a whim today and I wanted to try somewhere close to where I live in downtown Baltimore. I walked into 2 different places nearby and at both, the piercer wasn’t there and the prices were abnormally high. So I went ahead and drove a couple of extra miles for Mr. B’s.
Not only did Al do a fabulous job at making sure my piercing was exactly the way I wanted it and explaining the necessary after-​care, but I was in and out super fast! The price for my nose piercing was lower than anywhere else I’ve gone and Al’s there 7 days a week so walk-in’s are actually possible.

I recently came here to get my nose pierced and it was the best experience I ever had. I was a little nerves at first but my pieced Al really calmed me down and told me it was going to be quick and easy and it really was. It was so cheap and affordable it was only 40 $.

My daughter has wanted pierced ears for over a year now. After researching needles v. piercing guns, it was an easy decision to go with the needle. The hard part was finding a shop and piercer who was legally allowed and comfortable with children. My husband found a Baltimore Sun article about Al and Mr. B’s piercing a child’s ears so we decided to make a day of it.
When I called, Mr. Al was very thorough and answered all my questions before I even asked them. He even wanted to know if she had asked to get her ears pierced. I felt very confident after speaking with Al.
After a trip to the zoo (about 20 min away, so if you’re coming from far away like us it’s a fun day!) we went to Mr. B’s. Al has a really great way with children, she got to pick gold or silver studs and we went right back to the chair. Everything was very clean, 2 single use needles, gloves, chair, etc. Al gave my daughter her own gloves so she could «help.» He had her hold corks and things he might need to help take her mind off things. I can’t say how great he was with kids!
The actual piercing was very quick and Al measured to ensure everything was even. We were all done with no tears and a very happy, beautiful girl with new accessories. Al gave her a cup and sea salt for after care and made sure if we ever have any issues to come back. He will even change her earrings if we want him to. The price was much better than other shops we called too. Then to celebrate, we got ice cream across the street.
It’s been 3 days now and my daughter has not had a single complaint about her ears hurting. We are all so happy we got her ears pierced here! Now I think I’m ready my first tattoo!

Phenomenal first experience. Fast friendly service with people that absolutely know their stuff. You can’t beat that.

I have been in the Baltimore area for almost two years, and have had tattoo work done at a few other places. Mr. B’s is by far the best experience I have ever had. I have had four tattoo’s done by Mike in the past four months, and I have never walked out of a tattoo place feeling so happy about the work I had done. The staff there is wonderful and Mike B is the most talented, understanding, and just over all great artist I have ever met. Al, who does the piercing is a fantastic guy as well. If you are interested in great art as well as great company I suggest going to Mr. B’s.

Great place to get pierced. I called and got quoted $ 40 for a cartilage piercing so I went to the shop to get it done. I had been kept waiting a few minutes in the lobby because there were others in front of me. no big deal, I didn’t mind it but when the piercer came out he lowered the price because of the fact I had to wait.
When I had got back to the piercing room my heart was beating fast as it always does when I get a new piercing, but he was great. He did not dilly dally when it came to putting the needle through, he told me when and then put it through with hardly any pain.
My price was for the jewelry, after care and to come back and get it changed. Overall, it was a great experience… much better then the last time I had gotten a piercing at a different shop.

Best place you can go to get your piercing done. I was there yesterday to get my nose piercing. They did a great job, customer service was good and the person that did it his name was Al was super nice, calmed me down, cracked a few jokes with me during the piercing and explained all the after care steps I should take. I RECOMMEND THEM!

I got my tongue pierced here many years ago. It was clean, and the piercer was very friendly. Thats the extent of my experience.

While on vacation from Oregon, I swung in on Friday to see about getting a tattoo I had been debating on getting for a few months now. The place was clean and the two guys I spoke with were friendly, and without an appointment, the artist got me up on the table and deftly applied my wife’s name on my left chest. On top of that, he also added two small lines to a scar tat I have… It took an additional two seconds, but he didn’t mind and didn’t charge anything more.
Seems silly, but other artists have turned that request from me down in the past… so getting it done like it really wasn’t a big deal was awesome.
I told some of my friends who are relativity local to the area (Bel Air), and they hadn’t heard of it before… but they will check it out now!
I highly recommend coming here for a tattoo! I can’t speak to the body piercing aspect, but given what I saw of the tattoo side, I would get pierced here with confidence!

So disappointed! I called earlier in the day to ask if someone could change out several piercings and a very young-​sounding girl said, «That would be me.» Asked for her name and gave her mine. Came in after work and she looked to be about 14. She said she was 18 and her dad owned the shop and she had been working there since 5^th grade. She’s a senior in high school.
She couldn’t remove a helix piercing that her uncle had put in and she couldn’t add the captive bead to my rook piercing after trying for 15 minutes or more. I asked her if there was someone who could assist her, but she said that the only other people there were there were tattoo artists only and that I needed to come back tomorrow or Thursday.
I gathered up my things and went down the block to Tattoos by Bee. They were awesome there (gave them 5 stars).
Sadly, for Mr. B’s, I won’t be back for tattoos or piercings.

My sister and I came here on a Sunday to get matching tattoos. The staff was super nice and friendly except the guy at the front desk he wasn’t very friendly but I commented on it and he joked about it, he was cool.
We got our tatts done by John. He is super cool, did a great job. We love our tatts.
Two negative things to say:
1-​We paid 120 each for a 15 minute tattoo. He did a great job but I think the tatt was over priced. I don’t think we should have paid over $ 100, if that.
2-​The tattoo I original asked for, the words: «I am my sister’s keeper» in the shape of an infinity sign, John said he couldn’t do it or it would be really big. Maybe he misunderstood what I wanted but after I left I googled it and there are plenty of regular sized similar tattoos. So I would def. recommend bringing or showing a picture of what you want.
Aside from that, super happy with our tattoo from John and the place.
