Mr Tire Auto Service Centers

Never had an issue with Mr.Tire. Usually go to the location on Hartford road but used these guys once and learned quick why not to use them. They are very friendly but they wanted to charge me over $ 800 for a job that would cost $ 150 easily (which did when I went to my other mechanic). I have to say the guys here are so great ! They have even done my brakes. They are friendly and super fun to talk to. The negative reviews are from before I needed them so things must have changed. I will go here again for sure.

19.99 oil change sign. Is $ 27.04!!! Sign should say $ 26.99 not 19.99 at least the $ 27 won’t b a such a surprise when they add up, fees, filters, oil, recycling… and let’s not mention my 9am appt. with the 1 hr ½ wait to add to my experience.

I went to Mr. Tire on Saturday 1÷17÷15 for 4 new tires, at that time NOTHING was wrong with my car. After sitting in the shop for 2 ½ hours, a guy called me to the desk and said has your tire light been on, I stated no (because it hasnt been on at all). He said well I believe I saw the light on when we pulled the car in. I stated you didnt because my light was not on. Well, he says we found your sensor just laying in the rim of your tire, its broke and they cost about $ 100 bucks. I said my tire sensor and lights was fine when I brought the car in here. So after waiting another 2 hours he says oh you need a filter. Well that struck me as odd because I just got a oil change on 1÷13÷15 and they changed the filter but i said ok. I also had a coupon for $ 20 off my new tires and the gentlemen told me that he had already given me a $ 40 coupon (I have the invoice, it seems odd) so they did not accept it, Well I drove straight home and did not drive again until Monday morning to go to work. As soon as i got on the highway and sped up my car starting shaking bad. I get to work and call and he says with an attitude, bring it back in. I took it back and was waiting about an hour and long and behold he calls me to the desk again to tell me 2 sensors are broke and ask me was my tire light on when i brought the car in, the answer is no. No lights or anything was wrong with my car. I told him that my tire sensors were fine when I brought it in and he looked all confused and stated they tried resetting it but it would not work. he stated he would have to order 2 new sensors from the dealership because their generic ones was not working. He stated that i should bring my car back «sometime this week». I said Oh I will be back tomorrow. I asked did they fix the shaking of my car, he stated he guess because he didnt know about it… well needless to say my tire pressure light is on due to them damaging mine and to top it off, my car shook again today while driving to work and my heat would ot warm up, the tire pressure light was flashing and my car is making a noise that it never made before. I am so upset because I have 3 small children who rides in that car and safety matters. I have no reason to lie, my car was fine until they touched it Saturday. To tell me bring my car back sometime this week was unacceptable, I want my car back to the way it was before they touched it. I will be contacting a lwayer if this matter is not fixed and no I will not be paying for all these added things they are trying to come up with. I would never use them again and definitely would not recommend their services to anyone!

After hearing from the good folks at Mr. Tire that my tire had two nails in it and couldn’t be repaired, I limped it to another service station to have the tire replaced. The folks there did not find any nails in the tire or any other visible damage.
When I called Mr. Tire, the manager gave me the following explanations:
1.) There was a mix-​up, he specifically remembers that the nails were in another guy’s tire.
2.) «Bring the car over and I’ll show you the nails.»
3.) I exaggerated the nature of the leak (apparently calling the nails into existence and making them disappear the next day) and there was never a problem.
4.) I must have made a mistake because there hasn’t been a complaint about the shop in TWENTY YEARS.
Utterly bewildering. It’s like they saw the movie Gaslight and said to themselves «hey, this would be a great way to run a business.» Never again.

I took my car to Mr. Tire because a message was telling me that my tire needed air, so I wanted them to check the pressure and correct the issue if need be. I also opted to get an alignment because I was worried that perhaps my alignment was eating my tires.
He told me that the tire pressure was perfectly fine and that everything was good to go. I paid the $ 110 for the alignment right as the shop was closing on a Saturday evening.
The next day, I took my car out and noticed, again, that the pressure error message was coming up. The guy at Mr. Tire and I had talked about the fact that maybe a sensor was out, especially since they SUPPOSEDLY checked my pressure and it was good.
However, a new message popped up: «TIRE NEEDS AIR NOW.» I know what that means — a flat.
I called my insurance and they had someone come out to look at the tire… TWO HOLES. I have no idea how Mr. Tire failed to notice this or the fact that my tire pressure was actually not at the recommended PSI. I don’t know what kind of joint this place runs, but it seems awfully convenient that I simply had low pressure, took my tire to them, and suddenly had two holes in it?
Regardless, I called them the next morning and they were very willing to sell me a new tire at a discounted rate.
I took my car there the next morning and in all of Mr. Tire’s brilliance, they had SOLD the tire that was supposed to replace the flat tire that they didn’t notice, despite the fact that I specifically asked them to check my pressure.
I went elsewhere and I will never, ever, ever, ever give Mr. Tire a dime. Ever.
UPDATE: I’ve received many phone calls from various Mr. Tire representatives. Since I believe that my alignment was not done correctly at the first Mr. Tire, I will be taking my car to the new Mr. Tire which opened in White Marsh. I will be including a follow-​up review once they’ve checked my alignment.
UPDATE: I’ve received numerous calls from various Mr. Tire reps. One call offered a $ 50 gift card (I declined). Today, I did the follow up with the Mr. Tire in White Marsh. Very nice staff — they checked my alignment for free, gave me a print out showing my alignment before and my alignment after they did work on it. Extremely friendly and quick. I would consider using them as my permanent tire shop, despite the fact that it’s 20 minutes out of the way.

Run, run, run from this location! I have been a customer for years and had nothing but problems. The manger Ron can be nice, professional and tries to be helpful and remedy the incompetence of the staff so I have been convinced to give them chance after chance. This had been very foolish on my part. They sell tires when not required. The staff is arrogant and all they do is «push the sale» or up-​sell. You cannot trust them for honest professional advice. They do not stand by their work. If you have money to burn they will gladly take it from you. A huge ripe off! Avoid!!!

I called this location 30 minutes before they closed– my tire was dead flat, and I needed to change it and was gonna head down there to have them fix my flat or give me a new tire. I told them I was gonna rush and make it there as soon as I could.
The guy who answered the phone gave me no indication that this was a bad idea. I got there 20 min before close, and the guy said «Sorry, we can’t get to it today.» I said: «but I called ahead to say I was coming!» he responded — «Well, we close in 20 min and our guys are already working on other vehicles. you’ll have to drive around on your donut.»
To be fair– if I had shown up unannounced, I would not be writing this review. It would have been my fault. However, expecting the exact problem that I encountered, I called ahead! At which point, the lovely gentleman who answered the phone could have told me that they couldn’t help me. I would have called someone else and rushed there!
I will not be giving them my business in the future.

The absolute worst Tire Center experience in over 30 years of buying Tires. I made an appointment many days in advance. I arrived at the Service Center to find no appointment in the computer, and the tires were never ordered. Then the Manager had the nerve to look at me like I did something wrong. If I could give this place Zero stars, I would.
So after talking to this guy for a while, I recognized his voice as the person I spoke to originally. He then vehemently denied that he was the one I spoke with. I said «Are you saying that I had an imaginary conversation…». Then the Manager replied «Are you saying that I had an imaginary phone call…».
After that exchange of words, I quickly exited the premises, to never return again ever in Life. This place should have the Mr. Tire franchise license revoked. The Mr. Tire in Columbia is the best. Take my advice, and find tires somewhere else.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm for a quick patch on a tire. After standing in the office/​waiting room for about 10 minutes with not a single employee acknowledging me I walked out. And to add to my frustration then 3 men in the waiting room were loudly yelling at each other for stealing a chair… Will not be going back, ever

There are plenty of auto shops in this area so you may want to skip Mr. Tire. I basically came in and told them what the issue was with my car and they still wanted to charge me $ 116.99 + tax to do a diagnostic test and then for the part and maintenance for the car. I think this is one of those shops that like to take advantage of you coming in as a single woman alone. I went to another shop in the area and they did for free what Mr. Tire wanted $ 116.99 for.

Hated the entire experience. Came in for a MD State Inspection on a 2012 new car and they failed me due to tinted windows. They did not tell me prior to finishing, as they knew I would fail before they started the inspection! The manager guy, Rick, swindled me and he is rude… I think because I am a woman. Do not come here, they will tell you that your car requires extra stuff and it doesn’t …hidden fees (a surprise $ 7.99 shop fee? Really?) added to my bill! A disaster!

I went to Mr. Tire for a run-​of-​the-​mill oil change. I walked in without an appointment and asked them how long the wait would be, explained that I was slightly pressed for time, and the man at the counter said 1 hour. It ended up taking nearly 2.5 hours. I know things can get backed up, but in that case I don’t want to be quoted a time frame and have to wait more than double that.
That being said, I did get a tire patched up from them a few years back and everything went smoothly. Still– 1 negative experience and 1 acceptable experience receives a thumbs down.

I’m SO annoyed. I took my car for a state inspection and the guy who answered the phone was an asshole. The guy at the counter was nice but they F*ked up most important part– the certificate of inspection. The guy must be dyslexic because he wrote my VIN down wrong and the DMV rejected it. So now I have to drive all the way back there to have them correct it and then back to the DMV– wasting my time!

We came from upstate NY to Baltimore on Easter 2012. Arrived at our Inner Harbor Hotel just as I my rear tire went flat! Triple «A» put the spare on for me. I called Mr Tire at 8am the next morning and I had two brand new, reasonably priced, tires by noon. The neighborhood seems a little iffy so, I’d check
before walking the neighborhood. There is a grocery store, auto parts store, and a baskin robbins/​dunkin donuts across the street. The staff was super nice and polite.
