We are the only early childhood music school offering Instrument Sampler Classes (ages 4 – 8), which help children and their parents decide what instrument to pursue. Our Rock Band Intro Classes offer a unique opportunity for children ages 4 – 8 to experience the thrill of playing in a rock band.
We also offer our Parent & Child music classes for Infants to age 4, which focus on hand-on music instrument play, and Instrument Classes and Private Lessons in Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, Cello, and Violin for ages 4 and up

Peggy S.
Business Owner
Peggy founded Music for the Young Child in 1991. She teaches both Parent & Child classes, and the Ukulele and Guitar classes. She also teaches private guitar, ukulele and banjo lessons to all ages, including adults.
Growing up in Baltimore, she studied piano and flute at the Peabody Preparatory, and then branched out to numerous other instruments, primarily guitar, and then also sitar during 2 years in Sri Lanka.
Peggy is currently the banjo player for the Second Generation Bluegrass Band.
Her early inspiration came from her grandfather, who put a ukulele in her hands when she was 4 years old, taught her to play it, and played along with her on the many different instruments he could play.
